The two teens stared blankly, neither of them saying a word as they gawked to one another like gaping fish. Neither of them knew what was happening but neither of them had expect for what just happened to happen.
"How.. you were- and I.. what!?" Kennedy shout as she lift her hands to her head as she clawed her now numb fingers through her messy bundle of hair.
"You-" Gabrielle said seeming to remember what had happened completely. "You killed me. You actually killed me, I didn't think you'd do it but you did."
His eyes widened as he scoot as far away from the bed as he could though he had been exhausted among many other things along the lines of dehydrated a famished.
"Merlin, Kennedy-" He stuttered as he began to breathe heavily. "Y-your eyes they were different and you- you chased me down when you saw I was following you."
Kennedy didn't know what to do. There was hardly much she could do or say other then try and console him and calm him down but she knew getting any closer to him would only worsen his current state of panic and alarm.
"Gabrielle calm down-"
"Calm down?! Do not tell me to calm down Kennedy, I died!"
"I know that!" She shout loudly which caused Gabrielle to flinch ever so slightly at the sting of her words flooding his ears.
"I know." She whispered as she took two steps back.
Nothing was said between the two as they both watched the other carefully, trying to determine if they were to say anything or if they just wanted to remain quiet.
"Look, I- I'm sorry." Kennedy whispered as tears pricked her eyes. "I wasn't myself. Literally. I was not there. My dad, he like- invaded my mind somehow and I know its crazy and I know that you have no reason to believe me but I didn't do it Gabrielle."
"I swear I didn't." Kennedy choked on a sob that wanted to escape her.
So much was swirling in her mind. She wanted to run to him and hold him close to her, let him know that he was okay and everything would be alright. But at the same time the doors in her mind shut themselves tightly as to refrain her from making the damage worse.
She couldn't bare the idea that her friend had been mercilessly killed by her own body, granted she wasn't in control, but nonetheless the act had been done and it would forever be scorched into her mind. An endless reminder that her father had the power over her own mind. Her own body.
The sincerity in her eyes were alarming to Gabrielle. Who in there right mind would have gone and killed someone and then cried over the claim that they were innocent? He had seen her right above him, eyes a blazing blue staring down at him with a sickening grin as he faded into oblivion.
His own friend, killing him without as much of a flicker of guilt in her eyes. In fact there was pride hidden behind the blue glow.
But then again, it was Kennedy.
The same girl who cried to him one afternoon when she had been studying for seven hours straight. The same girl his best friend was obsessed with and found her as a sister. The same girl that would forget to eat when she was involved in something she was overly passionate about.
She was still the same girl he met in the carriage during there fourth year, the one that fell to the floor in a fit of snorts from he and his friends antics.
She was still purely Kennedy.
The girl who didn't have a mother or a father to raise her with love and the girl who had to create her own viewpoint on the world without even the smallest grain of help. The girl who was born into the name of a family who harmed and killed innocents.
