The summer was coming to and end as Kennedy sat in her room organizing her clothes for her fourth year at Hogwarts. Item by item Kennedy rolled each one up so she could fit more into her trunk. While Kennedy checked over her belongings she glanced over to the chair at her desk only to see Fred's jumped that she had yet to give back.
Smiling gently Kennedy walked over to the chair before she tossed the jumper over her head. She looked at herself in the mirror and frowned ever so slightly. In the last two months she hadn't had a lot of food to eat since her Aunt was never home and refused to go out and buy grocery's so Kennedy was left with what ever she could find for cheep around the town. Which wasn't a lot.
A few times Kennedy even result in staying for a few days at the leaky cauldron where she could easily afford a few proper meals. Though tomorrow Kennedy would be hopping on the night bus to head toward the Weasley's Burrow where she would stay till they left for Hogwarts.
Over the summer Kennedy had constantly been sending letter after letter to her friends who's owls were thankfully patient to wait for her to write out her responses as long as she tipped them with what ever crumbs were lying around.
"Kennedy Deadlock! Get your bloody arse down here!" Aunt Bonnie yelled out from down the hall.
Clenching her eyes shut Kennedy let out a loud groan before she left her room to see what her drunk of an Aunt wanted.
"Yes Bonnie?"
"Have you seen my Bourbon? I had it here-"
"When you were here three days ago? Yeah I saw it and got rid of it since you left it half emp-"
Kennedy couldn't finish her sentence since a blood curdling scream shot out of Bonnies mouth while she gripped her hair tightly, surely ripping a few strands out.
"Bonnie! Shush your gonna alarm the neighbors!" Kennedy shout panicked as the women continued to scream in grief of her last bottle of Bourbon.
"You got rid of my last bottle! How dare you!" She cried out as she began to grab books from a nearby bookshelf before she lazily chucked them to Kennedy who ducked as multiple hard covered books flew overhead.
"Stop it Bonnie! Bonnie! Your gonna break something-"
A loud crash was heard as one of her larger books crashed through the wall and into a younger couples apartment. Thankfully they were both gone to work but Kennedy only looked to Bonnie furiously who dropped the book and point her tired gaze to the floor while she awkwardly rubbed her wrists.
All Kennedy wanted to do was let her rage go and yell at her Aunt relentlessly till she would snap back to her old self, but deep down she knew that yelling wouldn't do anything but drive Bonnie back to a bar that she couldn't even afford.
Stepping carefully toward the women Kennedy gently placed her hands on her arms only for her to tiredly squirm in Kennedy's arms.
"Come on, let's get you to bed." Kennedy request as she gently smiled to her aunt who had tired bags under her eyes that matched Kennedy's.
The times her aunt did come home usually meant she wouldn't get much sleep. Ever since Bonnie had come back to the apartment from her rehab she had been a lot better about the amount of alcohol she was to drink, but it started to take a toll on her.
About two weeks after getting home she broke into of Kennedy's secret stashes of money to go and buy a few bottles of rum. Bonnie refused to tell Kennedy where she was hiding the alcohol so Bonnie ended up relapsing for the third time. Though this time she didn't seem to care much about it.
