Chapter 6 - Crackers and Brooms

Early the next morning the sun was out and shining drying up the morning dew that lay delicately against the green grass as a gentle breeze danced in the air causing Kennedy's hair to fly wildly around her face as she spat it out.

Maisie, Kennedy, Alicia, Angelina and Katie were meant to meet up in the quad to do some light review from the previous year, though as the girls began to take out all their papers the wind started to pick up sending them all flying into the air.

"I told you we should've just gone to the library like normal people!" Maisie groaned as she crushed her parchment in her fist that flew above her head.

"Oh come on Z, it isn't that bad to get some fresh air every now and again." Alicia joked to the girl who sent her a menacing glare.

"Careful 'licia! She hasn't had breakfast yet today." Angelina laughed as she got shoved to the side by a grumbling Maisie.

"It's not my fault you all let me sleep in!"

Kennedy shared a look of disbelief with her friends as they all packed up their bags and started to make their way through the castle.

"I beg your pardon?" Alicia stated as she walked next to the grumpy girl who dug around her bag for her book.

"I said, 'It's not my fault you all let me sleep-"

"No, I got that. I mean even if we wanted to, which we did, you would've hexed us the second our fingers even entered the air you plan to inhale."

"Not true!" Maisie gaped to the girl while Katie put a gentle hand on her shoulder.

"Z, you know its true. The one time I attempt to shake you awake you threatened to rip my hair off." Katie said as she shivered from the memory of her three friends trying to pull Maisie off of her in the girls bathroom as she had her hands swinging in the air.

"W-well.. you asked for it!" Maisie defend as they made their way into the dungeons toward Snape's classroom.

"And how did she 'ask for it'?" Kennedy laughed as she looked pointedly at her.

"I.. well she..," Maisie stuttered. "You know what- I don't have to explain myself to any of you."

Maisie then walked into the classroom with her book cradled against her chest as she held her head high while she barged through the Twins and Lee who stared at the girl that shoved through them.

"Who wrinkled her pages this morning?" Lee mumbled as his eyes followed the girl who sat in the front corner of the classroom now reading her book.

Katie stepped beside Lee as she tossed her arm over his shoulders while the boy smiled lazily to her. Kennedy chuckled, shaking her head towards the girl who immersed herself in her book.

"To long of a story to tell in to little time. Though, I do have a story about Fred from last night-"

"Don't even think about it, Deadie!" Fred shout causing Kennedy's head to snap toward him as she sat herself down beside Maisie as he and George sat to the left of her, while her other friends sat behind them.

Turning herself to face the boy, she glared lightly. "You didn't.." She hissed slowly to Fred who smirked at her face in response.

"Fine. Be that way," Kennedy said as she spun to face her friends who sat behind her.

"Last night me and Fred snuck into the forbidden forest-"

"Woah, woah, woah! Where was I during this?" George said from her side, though Kennedy waved him off.
