Kennedy cheered loudly as she watched the masked dummy across from her go spiraling across the room towards George who laughed joyfully as he flicked his wand, sending the dummy directly back to her.
A smile was on her tired face as the two continued to swing the larger dummy across the room over and over again. Sometimes when they would do so the dummy would go a bit off course, so more than once they have had to dive in front of their fellow peers to make sure they got it sent back in their partners general direction.
Kennedy had even gotten Maisie to swing it back towards her once or twice, but eventually the girl let out a playful threat that made Kennedy back off with a goofy grin on her face.
Though even Maisie had to admit that it was good to see her friend back in action and smiling once again.
It was definitely a refreshing feeling amongst all the inner troubles she was feeling throughout her time at her school. And if Maisie had been being honest, as much as she was looking forward to heading home for the break she would miss having everyone around to distract her.
Then again, she would come back to those problems when the time came.
So while Kennedy and George were messing about with one another as Harry began to close the class until they were all back for the break, Maisie stood along the wall next to Leighton who only has his eyes trained on hers.
"You have that look on your face again." The boy said with a small uplift on his lips.
"What- what look? I don't have a look." Maisie defend with a scoff while she crossed her arms and furrowed her brows just slightly.
"You definitely have a look. It's one that Kennedy makes a lot of the time actually. One that screams 'I'm ignoring the problems in my head while trying to maintain a normal facial expression and posture so my friends don't notice'. Although she is far better than you at faking it." Leighton laughed lightly.
"Have you seen Kennedy? She's a bloody awful liar."
"Then what would that make you?"
"...No comment." Maisie state before kicking off the wall and following after the crowd of people that just so happened to have said girl in the center of it with George glued to her side and Fred a few students over.
"My point still stands, you know." Leighton continued as he glanced down to the girl who glared at him swiftly.
"Shut up. Plus, there's something more important to discuss here." Maisie state as they walked out of the room as she watched slightly puzzled as Kennedy was dragged back into the room of requirement by a pair of redheads who cackled as they dragged her in.
"And what would that be?" Leighton pressed as he shoved his hands into his pockets while raising one of his brows to the girl who glanced back at the door they had just exit.
"It's about Fred and Angelina." Maisie started.
"What about them?"
"Do you remember how close they had gotten over the time that Kennedy was... well, you know? Unconscious."
"Yes?" Leighton paused briefly, trying to figure out where she was going with this.
"When was the last time you saw them have a genuine day spent together since then? He's spoken to her but he's just- he's being all weird and awkward again." Maisie explained.
Leighton opened his mouth to retaliate, but it seemed as though even he couldn't think of the last time the two had gone around together holding hands like they had before Kennedy woke up.
