It was the little things River noticed about him, like how he would cover his mouth as he laughed, how he would scrunch up his nose whenever he was disgusted, how he would roll his eyes at anyone who stated a stupid fact.
Maybe that's how River found out he fell, that he fell hard for that stupid Egyptian Jackal. Yes, the one he had threatened. It seemed stupid how fast he fell, but, he wanted him, more then anything else.

River held the rose close to his chest as he walked into the Egyptian area, his hopes held high.
He should've figured. As he walked into the Egyptian area he heard soft giggles, his curiosity getting the better of him.
"Inpu! Stop tickling me! Pfft-" River's eyes widened, the rose dropping from his hands as he saw the scene in front of him. Inpu was straddling Bryan waist as he tickled Bryan, the pinned one leaning up to kiss the Jackal.
River sniffled softly, running out of the pyramid, leaving his heart there. Vowing that love was fake, it seemed everything was numb.
