Chapter 7

I woke up the next morning a little sore, but he stretched my body out the other day which made it not as bad. I backed my head out of his chest and smiled watching him sleep in front of me. I slowly took his hands of my back and got out of bed. I went to the laundry room and put his clothes into the dryer because I forgot to do it last night. I was very exhausted. I started the dryer and went back upstairs. I took a shower. I brushed my teeth and dried myself off. I walked out of the bathroom and changed into my clothes. I had work in a little over an hour. Derek was still asleep. I have no idea what time he works, but I think he has an alarm set. I laid back into the bed and his alarm went off about 10 minutes later. I was staring at the ceiling watching his eyes open from the side of mine.

"Hey" he whispered groggily

I looked at him. We were only fuck buddies, I didn't want anything more. I couldn't. Until I looked into his eyes, they stared into my soul bringing all of the bad memories I have away. I started smiling at him

"Hi. What time do you have to leave" I asked smiling

"In about 30" he said

"Ok" I nodded

I looked back at the ceiling

"Are you alright" he questioned

"Yeah I'm just fine. Just a little sore" I said

He smirked

"What" I giggled

"Nothing just- I- I don't know" he smiled

I rolled my eyes and got up. I went downstairs and ate some cereal. He was in the shower. I cleaned up a little and grabbed his shirts out of the dryer and folded them. I brought them to the kitchen and sat them on the counter. I walked over to the couch and sat down. I turned the tv on.

"Meredith" he asked from behind me

I turned my head around and looked at him

"Where are my clothes from yesterday" he asked half naked

"They are right there" I said pointing to the clothes on the counter

"Thanks" he said turning around walking to them

I turned around and watched more tv. He came over to me and sat down eating his cereal.

"Oh cristinas out today, so I guess you're on my service" he said

I smiled silently inside, but was confused about Cristina. She would've told me if she was out and trust me she was never out. Surgery is her whole world.

"Why is she out" I asked

"She went with Burke to a hospital in Vancouver" he said

Oh that's why. She is still working with hearts. I was going to say thats not like her to be out, but I get it now. I nodded to him and turned the tv off.

"I have to go to work" I said to him

"Ok" he said not getting the hint that I was kicking him out

"Are you going to stay here or-" I said waiting for his answer

"Since you insist. I will stay here for a little bit" he laughed

"Ugh this is going to be a terrible day" I smiled

I grabbed my keys and left the house. I don't know why, but I trust him to stay in my house alone even though I barely know him. I drove to the hospital and went to the intern locker room. Everyone was talking. I changed into my light blue scrubs and walked out with Izzie, George, and Alex. We walked with Bailey.
