1 week later
Emma and Caleb are staying with us for a week while Callie and Arizona went to Paris. We went to pick them up. It was a long drive. The girls fell asleep in the back. We drove home and it was 3pm. Everyone ate. The kids went to there rooms with their bags. I cleaned up a little bit and Derek helped.
Derek's POV
I finished helping Meredith. I went upstairs and walked into their room. They were playing Xbox.
"Hey guys do you want to have fun today" I smiled
"Yeah" Emma said
"Yessir" Caleb said
"Well tonight we can do whatever you want" I said
"Can we go bowling" Emma said
"Yeah that sounds fun" Caleb said
"Of course you guys can. Let's make a date for 7" I said
"Bet" they both said
I left and shut their door. I went into my room and laid on the bed. Gracie was downstairs with Mer. A little tiny baby started running into my room. I sat up and sat at the edge of my bed
"Hi nova" I smiled
She ran over to my feet. I picked her up and sat her next to me
"What are you doing" I smiled
"Dada" she said holding her hands out
I sat her on my lap
"Oh you want me" I laughed tickling her
She started giggling. I stopped and held her. Emma and Caleb came into the room.
"Can Meredith go" Emma asked
"We can go see" I said
I got up and left the room with them. I went downstairs. I held nova around my waist and walked over to mer.
"Hey mommy" I smiled
She turned around and looked at me.
"Hi daddy" she smirked
"Do you want to go bowling with all of us" I asked
She looked down at the kids. I looked down at them and they were smiling. I looked back at Meredith and smiled
"Sure, but I can just watch" she said
"Yayyyy" they said
"Do you guys want to help us pick out nursery stuff for your baby sisters and brother" she smiled
"2 sisters and a brother" Emma smiled
I looked at her confused on why I told them
"Yeah" I smiled
"Aww yes" Caleb smiled
"Yes definitely" Emma smiled
"Perfect" I said
They left and I sat nova onto the counter. Gracie was in her bouncer.
"So this is going to be a fun week for you guys" Mer smiled
"Yeah I can't wait. I really wish you could go with us everywhere" I sighed
"I do too, but I can barely walk" she said
I started smiling.
4 hours later
Emma and Caleb came downstairs. I grabbed Nova and Gracie. We walked to the car and I put them in. Emma and Caleb went into the car afterwards. We left and drove to the bowling alley. We parked and walked in. We bought a bowling pass for 2 hours. We grabbed our shoes and went to our station. We it was really dark and everything was glowing. We put our shoes on and grabbed our bowling balls. I grabbed a little one for nova. I put the bumpers up for the kids. Nova was up first. Meredith was sitting in the chair with Gracie. I grabbed the ball and walked Nova over.
"Okay so put your arm back and swing the ball, like this" I said holding her arm back
I pushed it forward
"Good. Now do it and let go of the ball" I said
I helped her and it went down. It hit 1 pin
"Wooo Nova you did it" Mer said clapping and standing up
Nova turned around and ran over to her. She started hugging Mer's legs.
"Nova come back. You get to do it one more time" I smiled
She came over and I helped her again. She hit another one and Mer was going crazy. She was so excited. Emma, Caleb, Nova, and I started taking turns. We were about an hour in and we were hungry. I ordered 3 Shirley temples and chicken tenders for the kids. Mer and I ordered cheeseburgers. I went to pick up the food. I brought it to our seats and put them onto the little coffee table. We all took a break to eat and drink. I drank some of my water. I wrapped my arm around Mer's back and she rested her head onto my shoulder. She started eating some French fries. I kissed the top of her head.
"Let me know if you want to go home" I whispered
"I will" she whispered
I let her go and she sat up. I started eating. After we were done, Mer put Gracie under her shirt so she could eat. The kids were bowling, so they weren't paying attention, and it was really dark.
1 hour later
We finished bowling and drove home. The kids ran upstairs. I went upstairs with Gracie and changed her. I put her into her crib and waited for her to go to sleep. She finally fell asleep and I left the room. I went into Nova's room and put her into her pajamas. I brushed her teeth. I tucked her into bed.
"I love you sweet girl" I whispered kissing her forehead
"Derek" Mer whispered
I stood up and turned around.
"Yeah" I whispered
"Can we talk" she said
"Of course" I said
She walked past me and bent down to talk to nova. I left and tucked Emma and Caleb in. I shut everyone's door and went to my room. I brushed my teeth and took my shirt off. Mer walked in and looked at me
"Wow" she smiled
I started smiling and folded my shirt. I sat it onto the dresser and took my socks off. I went over to the bed and laid on it.
"What do you want to talk about?" I asked
"I can barely do anything. I hurt so bad" she said
I sat up
"Lay down on your stomach, or your side I guess" I said
She nodded and laid next to me. I lifted her shirt up and dug my fingers into her back to give her a nice massage.
"Does this feel better" I asked
"A little, but I don't think I can do anything for a while. I already know that I'm going to be sore in the morning" she said
"Do you want to be relaxed in a different way" I smiled kissing her cheek
She rolled over to lay on her back. I started kissing her lips and rolled on top of her. I put the blankets over us and deepened the kiss.
"No" she whispered against my lips
I pulled away and looked at her. She started smiling.
"You are something else Meredith Grey" I smiled
I got off of her and rolled to my side to not face her. I love her so much. I started smiling. I went to sleep shortly after.
