Chapter 29

I took my phone and Derek took his. I answered mine.

"Hello" I said

"Hi Dr. Grey your results came in negative" she said

"Oh thank you" I said

Derek said something

"Yeah I'll talk to you outside" he said on the phone walking away

"You can come in whenever you want" she said

"Ok thank you goodbye" I said hanging up the phone

I was worried for Derek. I walked to the kitchen and made a sandwich. I started eating it and heard the front door open.

"Derek are you okay" I asked

He walked over to me

"How's the baby" he asked putting his hands on my stomach

"Good. What happened" I asked wanting to know

"My sister" he said

He breathed in and out

"It's- it's okay" he said to himself

"Derek tell me what's wrong" I said

His phone started ringing. He grabbed it and walked away.

"Hello" I heard him say

I kept eating my sandwich. He finally came back

"Derek just tell me" I said finishing the lash piece of my sandwich

"My sister Lizzie was in a plane crash and she needs a tendon placement. I don't know what to do, she helped me when I needed her, but I don't know what to do. If this doesn't happen she won't be able to be a doctor anymore" he said

"Okay come here" I said holding my arms out

He came into me and hugged me.

"It's her, it's not me so it's fine, she'll get helped and if she doesn't I'll make sure I'll help her" he said

"No don't do that, I know you want to but you're a surgeon too you can't, no I won't let you" I said

"Meredith this is me, my decision" he said

"If you can be a surgeon after then yes that's fine, but Derek I'm not telling you this because of me. I'm saying it because of how much you love surgery" I said seriously

I pulled away from the hug and grabbed some water. He came over to me and put his hand on my cheek. He kissed my hard.

"I'll be back later" he said walking away

"Where are you going. You can't go anywhere without the results" I asked

"I just have to take a walk" he said opening the door

"Wait" I said walking to him

I put my hand on his chest and kissed his lips.

"Come back soon" I whispered

He started smiling. He walked out of the house and I shut the door. I went upstairs and took a shower. I brushed my teeth. I walked out of the bathroom and put panties on along with Dereks white t shirt. I got into bed and went under the covers. I was pretty cold without him. I left him alone and didn't call him or anything. I fell asleep. I woke up after hearing the door creak open.

"Hey I have some food" he whispered with a smile

I wiped my eyes and looked at him.

"What" I said groggily

He brought the bag of food over to me and put it on the bed.

"Wanna eat" he asked

"Yeah" I said

He took the boxes of food out of the bag. The piece of cheesecake I just saw was eying me. I started licking my lips. He started laughing 

"Help yourself" he said

I grabbed the box with the piece of cheesecake and grabbed a fork. I started eating it.

"Wait why'd you go out, did you get your results" I asked eating the cheesecake

"Yes I'm negative" he said

"Good" I smiled

I finished my cheesecake and he ate his. I grabbed the box of lasagna and started digging in. I drank some water with it. By the time we ate everything I was exhausted. This food made me really full. Derek took the boxes and put them in the bag. He took the bag and left the room. I went on my phone and started feeling kicking in my stomach

"Oooo" I winced sitting up

I put my hand on my stomach. I tried rubbing my stomach. This baby needed Derek.

"Derek" I yelled wincing a little more

I heard him come up the stairs. He walked into the room

"Yes are you alright" he said out of breath

I took my shirt and pulled it up over my belly.

"It needs you" I winced

"Meredith" I whispered walking over to me

He put his hands on my stomach.

"Sssss please talk to it" I said trying to get comfortable

"Hey little guy or girl whatever. I'm your daddy. I hope we can be friends when you come out. I want to see you soon, but not too soon because your mommy wouldn't like that" he laughed

"Keep talking it's working" I said

"When you get old enough we'll do a lot of fun things together. I want to coach your sports team. I really hope you look like me, just to make your mom a little jealous" he said smirking at me

He leaned down and started pecking my stomach.

"Derek" I laughed as he tickled me a little

He gave me a big kiss on my stomach

"I'm gonna take a shower" he smiled

I rolled my eyes and he walked into the bathroom. I put my hand on my stomach. I laid on my side and slowly fell asleep. I woke up to his hands over mine on my stomach. He slid his fingers in mine. He spooned me and I felt happy. I fell asleep. I woke up in the morning. It was still dark outside. I turned over and Derek wasn't there. I grabbed my phone and texted him.

M- hey where are you
D-sorry I had to get some more work done. I have a meeting in an hour

I checked the time. It was 6am. I couldn't go back to sleep. I got out of bed and walked downstairs. I went over to Derek who was in his office

"Hey" I said

He turned around

"Hey I though you want back to sleep" he said

"I can't" I said

He nodded and went back to his paper work. I walked in and went over to him. He was sitting in a rolling chair. I put my hands on his shoulders and started massaging them.

"When you're done let me know because I'm really craving some dessert right now" I whispered

He took his paper that was in his hand. He hit my head with it

"Ow" I laughed

He started laughing

"Get out" he laughed

"I'm serious" I smiled

"Oh yeah I know you are" he said

"Okay well look forward to it" I said

I walked out of the room and went upstairs. I laid on the bed and ended up getting bored and tired. I went back to sleep.
