1 week later

Derek and I haven't seen each other for a week. We've talked a couple times on the phone, but we've both been busy with work. I took my anxiety pills before I got ready for the day. My OB appointment is with Addison today. Derek's flight should be getting here soon. Nova has been missing her dad a lot, but she's been getting through it. She's been FaceTiming him on her own lately when she's in daycare. I went into Nova's room and got her ready. I took her downstairs and made her some lunch. I started getting a phone call and answered it

"Hello" I said

"Mer it's me. I'm riding the ferry boat" he laughed

"Of course you are" I laughed

"Yeah it's really beautiful today. We should do this a lot more" he said

"We should" I smiled

"Do you want me to pick you up" I asked

"No, I have a ride" he said

"Okay" I said

"I can't wait to see you" he whispered

"Me either. I've missed you so much" I said

"I know. With work and everything, I barely have time to call you" he said

"Hey you're just a really busy man. I get it" I said

"Yeah. I'll see you when I get home. I love you" he said hanging up the phone

I started eating a sandwich that I made. Nova was finished and I put her on to the ground. She was pretty fast. She ran to the couch. I heard the door open and looked over. Nova ran to the door. Derek bent down and hugged her.

"I got something for you" he said holding a plastic bat and a ball

"Yayyy" she smiled grabbing the bat

She started hitting him with it and I started laughing. He looked at me and started laughing. He grabbed the bat.

"Not like that" he said holding the ball.

He put it onto the table and swung it gently

"No not on the table" I said

"We can do a lot more on this table. She's not going to do anything" he smiled

She started hitting the ball and replacing it

"Go out in the backyard" I said

"We have to go. This is temporary" he smiled

"What is wrong with you" I said

"Nothings wrong with me I-" he said walking over to me

He leaned down and kissed my lips

"I'm just trying to thing about everything that makes me desire you and there's way too much" he whispered against my lips

I looked down at his lips and attacked them with mine. He pulled away

"Shh there's a child" he said pointing to Nova behind us

I sighed and grabbed my keys. I held novas hand and walked out of the house. I put her into the car and I got into the drivers seat. I started driving to the hospital. We went into the hospital and went up to OB. A nurse brought us to our room and I put my gown that covered waist down on. I handed Derek my pants and he folded them. He put nova in a chair and gave her his phone. I started getting stressed. These pills weren't working. He held my hand and I looked up at him. He leaned down and started kissing my lips.
