1 week later

We just dropped Nova, Athena, and Layla at Derek. I cried the whole time. I hate this so much.

"Mer it's okay. They're going to be fine" he whispered hugging me

"I can't do this" I cried into his chest

He was in the drivers seat and I was in the passenger seat.

"Let's go to work and take your mind off of it" he smiled

I pushed him back and wiped my tears

"A quickie in my office" I asked

"Mama" Gracie asked

"Yes sweetie" I said turning around

"Whats a quickie" she said

I look at Derek and he smiled. He started driving

"She's your daughter" He smiled

I shook my head and looked at Gracie

"It's when you quickly do paperwork, but don't say it. Only adults can say it" I smiled

"Okay" she smiled

I turned around and stared forward

"I'm getting you back for that" I whispered

"Well we will have to do paperwork quickly to get our research going" he smirked as he eyed me

"It'll take my mind off of my little girls" I said tearing up

He held my hand. We drove to the hospital and walked in with the kids. We brought them to day care. I went into my office and it was pretty empty. I went to the car and Derek helped me bring all of my new stuff up to the office. He left and I decorated a little bit. It was mostly of my hospital work. I sat in my chair and grabbed my laptop. I put it onto the computer, lifted the top up, and started looking at the hospital. I want to see what I can do to change it.

1 hour later

There was a knock at the door.

"Come in" I said

The door opened and shut. Derek locked it. He turned and looked at me.

"It's time for our quickie" he smiled

"Oh yes it is" I smiled getting up.

I walked over to him. We met in the middle. We attacked each other's lips and he lifted me up. He took my scrubs off and I took his off. He put his hand under my neck and lifted my head up. "If you need me I'll be on my office" he smiled

He turned around and left. He walked back inside and looked back at me

"I forgot. I'll be back with the clinical research" he said

"Wanna have lunch" I asked

"Yeah" he smiled

I got up and walked to Derek. We left the room and went to Derek's office. He grabbed the research and we went to daycare. I grabbed Gracie and brought her down to the cafe. I sat with her at a table. She was in my lap, giggling, as I moved her hands up and down with my hands. Derek came back with sandwiches, chicken nuggets, drinks, and brownies. He handed them to me and ate his sandwich. I helped Gracie eat. I grabbed the research and started looking through it.

"The trials working?" I smiled

"Yes it is" he smiled

I kept smiling. I looked more into the research and the patients history.

"This really took my mind off of everything" I smiled

"I knew it would" he smiled

I closed the folder and had lunch with my baby and Derek. The triplets are sleeping in daycare.

1 hour later

I was in my office with the triplets and Gracie. Gracie was playing with a little basketball hoop that I brought in. She started throwing a little ball in it. I kept feeding the triplets. A life of a mom
