Chapter 54

Mer left to look for someone that sounded hurt or scared. Nova was still asleep. I was going to help Mer look but she was only walking near us. She couldn't go too far. I waited about an hour. She wasn't back yet. I grabbed my knife and flashlight. I left nova. I went over to Lexie's tent.

"Lexie" I said

I unzipped her tent a little bit. She was gone. I feel like she went to look for Mer. I walked back to my tent and grabbed nova, a knife, and flashlight.

"Hey nova hold this for me" I said handing her the flashlight.

She hold it and I turned it on. She was pointing it forward.

"Be quiet for me" I whispered

We slowly walked behind a tree. We walked a little more and I started hearing footsteps in the leaves. I turned the flashlight off that Nova was holding. We were hiding behind a bush. I looked and say Nova down. I saw someone walk past in front of me. It was Lexie

"Lexie" I whispered

She turned around

"Derek" she whispered

"Over here" I said holding my hand up

She walked over to me and sat behind the bush

"What's going on" she whispered

"I have no idea. I went to look for you and Mer" I said

"Mer's gone" she asked

"Yes" I asked confused

"I went to pee" she said

"Can you watch her and go back to the tents. I'm going to look for Mer" I said as the rain started coming down more

"Yeah sure" she said picking Lexie up

I took the flashlight from Nova. Lexie started walking back to the tents with her. The rain started to silence the footsteps in the leaves. I ran around the woods to look for her. I saw something. It was a bunch of light. My hair was soaked and covered my face. I moved it out of my face. There was loud music. I walked over there and people were coming out of a big cabin. It was just college kids. I left them alone and looked farther away. I saw something next to a tree. I ran over there and saw here. She was sitting by a tree. I bent down to her and she was holding her stomach. The rain was pouring on us

"Mer are you alright" I asked lifting her shirt up

"I'm fine" she said

"What happened" I asked

I didn't see anything on her stomach. She laid on the ground and I put her head into my lap.

"We need to prepare. There's someone looking for people to kidnap. I led them away to another spot but I dislocated my ankle" she said

"Mer I'm so sorry" I said picking her up

I ran to the front of the woods and finally found our camp site. I went to the tent with her. I unzipped it and put her inside. We were being soaked with water. I took her clothes off and gave her a long t shirt from my bag. She slid it on. I lifted her leg up and looked at her ankle. It was pretty bruised.

"Mer this is going to hurt" I said

"Mmm go ahead" she groaned closing her eyes

She put a sock from her bag into her mouth. I quickly relocated it and she screamed loudly in pain. I wrapped her ankle with medical tape that I had in my bag. I laid it down and slid fresh panties over her feet. She slid them up. I turned the flashlight off and we were listening to the rain. I put the blanket over her and leaned down. I kissed her lips.
