I woke up and Derek was at work. I got ready for the day and got the girls ready. I went to the hospital without letting anyone know. I walked up to Derek's office and tried to open the door. It was locked. I knocked. I heard something fall.
"Just a second" he said out of breath
I held Nova's hand. I held Gracie in my arms. He unlocked the door
"Oh hey what are you doing here" he said shutting the door half way and he blocked his body, so we couldn't come in.
"Can we come in" I asked confused
"No. Sorry I can't let you" he said
"Why. Derek let me in" I said
He looked at me like he was scared
"Derek. Is there a girl in there. You can tell me, I won't get mad" I said as my heart broke inside
"Meredith" he sighed
He opened the door and nova walked in. He shut it when we all came in. He went to his desk.
"I was going to do this as a surprise, but I've been trying to get another clinical trial grant for Alzheimers. I was going to tell you when i got it, so we could do this together" he said turning around and looking at me
"You're doing a Alzheimer's trial" i asked
"I'm hoping to, yes. I want to try and cure this disease for you" he said tearing up.
I walked over to him and he started smiling. He leaned down and kissed my lips.
"Why don't you trust me" he asked
"You never talk to me anymore. Like you go to work every second and when you're home, you barely say anything" I said
"Okay. I'll communicate more if that's what you want and now you know about this trial, so we can talk more about that" he smiled sitting on the edge of his desk.
"Is that why you came here" He asked
"Yes" I said
"We'll stay here for the rest of the day if you want. We can go home and have a little fun together" he smirked
I started laughing.
7 hours later
Gracie is down for her nap and Nova is asleep for the night. We fed them. I went downstairs and saw Derek. He was chopping lettuce in the kitchen for a salad. I walked over to him. I put my hand on his back. He turned around. He looked at my lips and put a knife under my chin, flat. He slowly traced my jawline and leaned down. He kissed my lips and turned back around to finish cutting the tomatoes. He turned me on so much.
"Come upstairs" I whispered into his ear
I went upstairs and went into my room. I grabbed my phone and started playing on it. He came in. I put my phone down.
"Took you long enough" I scoffed
"Mmm" he said shaking his head
