Chapter 86

I was walking Nova around the hospital during the storm that we could hear. A toddler in a tiny room for awhile isn't a good idea. We listened to the loud thunder. I picked her up and went downstairs.

"Do you see all that rain" I smiled pointing at the door.

"Ywesss" she smiled

She tried to grab the air to get the rain

"No nova. If there wasn't lighting or thunder then you could get the rain and you don't have a rain coat" I smiled

There was a man trying to get to the door. He was almost being blown away. He finally walked in.

"Help" he whispered and fell onto his face.

Nova started crying. There was a stab wound on this persons back.

"Hey we need a gurney in here" I said

The nurses came over and picked the guy up. They put him on a gurney and brought him to a room. Cristina came.

"What happened" she said through Nova's cries

"He came in and said 'help'. He fell and it looks like he has a stab wound in his back" I said bouncing nova

"Shhh it's okay" I whispered kissing her cheek

I realized that this was kind of like my dream that I had earlier today.

"Put the hospital on lockdown" I said holding nova's face into my chest

"Put us on lockdown. Something bad's about to happen" I said

She nodded. She went to press the code. I took nova to Derek's office and the lights started flickering. I opened the door. He was holding Gracie in his arms. Nova finally stopped crying when she saw her dad. I let her down and she ran to him.

"Hey I-" I said and the lights went off.

"What is going on. Have you looked outside lately" he asked

"Yeah. I just did. It's pretty bad" I said turning my phone light on. He turned his on.

"Do you know why we're on lockdown. No one told me about it" he said

"I told Cristina to. I had a dream earlier about a man with a knife who came in and I had a bad feeling. This man came in with a stab wound" I said

"Mer what if he's the man with the knife" he said

I quickly texted Cristina to stay far back. She sent me a voice message.

"Hey Mer. I'm in the OR. I'll talk to you when I'm done" she said

I kept my light on Derek and sat in the chair in front of him. Grace started crying.

"Hey Gracie" I smiled

He handed her to me. I started bouncing her in my arms.

"I'm right here. Are you hungry" I smiled lifting up my shirt

She didn't want it.

"Do you have a pacifier" I asked Derek as I put my shirt back down

"Yeah" he said opening his drawer

He handed me a green one. I put it into Gracie's mouth and held it there as she sucked on it. He cleared all of the papers off of his desk.

"You guys stay here. I have to see if anyone needs stuff" he said putting Nova onto his desk.

She was facing me and he got up.

"Yeah go" I smiled

"Bye girls" he said kissing novas head and playing with Grace's hair.
