2 weeks later
Derek and I were at my OB appointment. Nova was with us because she didn't want her dad to leave. She's being really wanting him a lot. We were in the room and Nova was sitting down playing with Derek's phone. I laid on the exam table, while we waited for the doctor. I was finally able to take the brace off of my ankle too. The doctor finally came in.
"Hi Dr. Grey" she said
"Hey Dr. Smith" I said
"Oh hi Dr. Shepherd how are you?" She asked
"I'm doing good" he said grabbing my hand
I looked up at him and he smiled at me. I looked back at the doctor.
"If anything's wrong, please just tell me straight up" i said
"Okay" she said
She turned the ultrasound machine on and lifted my shirt up. She squirted the gel onto it and it was freezing. I winced a little.
"Sorry" she said grabbing the wand
She moved the gel around on my abdomen. She clicked something on the computer. We started hearing it.
"You hear that?" She smiled
"Yes" Derek said
"Well that's your baby's healthy heartbeat" she said
I sighed in relief.
"Everything looks good and this baby is in a really comfortable spot. This was a really good fertilization. Nice work" she said
"Yeah I tried my best" Derek said
She started laughing. I hit his hand
"He didn't mean that" I said staring him down angrily
"Hey it's okay" she laughed.
She took some pictures.
"You are only 8 weeks, so keep on taking your prenatal and do some exercises that are on the list that I gave you earlier" she said
Derek grabbed my hand again
"Okay thank you" I said
She wiped the gel off of me and turned everything off.
"I'm going to grab the pictures. I'll be back in a second" she said getting up
She left the room and I sat up. I started staring at Derek. He picked nova up and looked at me
"What" he smiled
"Why would you say that" I smiled
"Because it was funny" he said
"No it was not" I smiled
"Then why are you laughing huh" he said poking my mouth with his finger
I pushed his hand away
"Anyways" I smiled rolling my eyes
He leaned down and kissed my lips.
"I'm just proud of myself" he smiled pulling away
"What" I said
"My sperm is strong" he smiled looking at nova
"Stop" I laughed
"What I bet we're going to have a boy" he said
"No way. It has to be a girl" I said
"Definitely not. I mean I love her, but I'm positive it's a boy" he said
