"I'm not called a Lynx for no reason, you know?"
"I am afraid of no big cats, Lynx. They always grow to fear me instead."
(Y/n) (L/n) is a young assassin from England. She was brought out to New York, America for the Assassination of an infamous gan...
A woman screamed from outside, while I stayed paralysed on the floor. What happened in the few minuets after that, I cant remember. I must have spaced out and shifted my mind from reality. It happens sometimes. Not as often as it used to, but when it does it can be near impossible to get me out of. When I finally did come back around, I was laying on the floor. Shorter was next to me, his arm over my back to keep me down. "Oi, (Y/n). Wake up!" He muttered, shaking my body. "You okay?" Shorter gently pulled me up to sitting position and untied my wrists. "Yeah...thanks." I rubbed the red rings on my wrists, wincing at how sore they were. I looked up at Griff.
He was laying flat on his back, blood pouring freely from the gunshot wound in his chest. "But him..." Shorter heled me to my feet and we walked over to where Griff was, a couple of doctors fussing over him. "How is he?" Shorter asked, leaning over Griff. "I'm doing what I can. He finally came around and remembered something. Don't die on us now. Live for Ash." The man with the black eye said, worry dripped from his voice as he continued to work on Griff. "Wait, why Ash? What does he have to do with this?" I squatted down beside the doctor, carefully examining the unconscious mans face. "He is Ash's older brother." The doctor replied, his face twisted with concentration. "Older brother? Oh, I do see a resemblance..." I hummed, my mind going to Ash. From what I had seen, Ash holds the people he cares about very highly. He is also sensitive and highly strung, not that he'd ever show that side of him.
I silently wished for Griff to live. I knew there was nothing I could do accept watch, not that I could bare to do that. "C'mon (Y/n, lets go wait outside." Shorter tugged at my arm, clearly aware of how I was feeling. We stepped outside the room and shut the door behind us. I lent on the wall and slowly slid down. "What the fuck are we going to tell Ash if Griff doesn't make it?" I sighed, tilting my head back against the painted stone. "What's more, they took that little bottle I was supposed to give you." "Don't worry, we'll get it back. It must have been something really important, they seemed upset." Shorter sat down next to me, spreading his legs in front of him. "That disguise you had on earlier, was crap. I saw straight through it." "Oh, my greatest apologise that my improvised disguise was not up to your standards. M'lady." He said sarcastically, bowing a little from where he was sat. I chuckled a little. "Ah man. You're Ash's best friend, right?" I looked over at Shorter. He hummed, still staring at the wall opposite us. "But, he seems to have taken a liking to you." "Really?" I rolled my eyes with another sigh. "Yeah! He sent you here. Ash asked you personally to do something for him. Trust me, Ash is quite independent but once he takes a liking to someone, that's it. When he gets out of prison, he will protect you like you're his own life. Trust me, he thinks you are special." I couldn't help but smile at Shorter's words.
Ash POV
Ah yes, more crappy prison food. To be honest, I was starting to get used to it. Don't get me wrong, it was no five star meal, but it was edible. Max was somewhere behind me talking to an officer. I couldn't hear what they were saying as the cafeteria was too noisy, but it was probably about getting me a new cellmate.
After lunch was over, I made my way back to my cell. I had nothing else to do but wait, so I read a newspaper from the 60s'. The cell gate squeaked open and Max came in to get his stuff. "Back already? Go on a walk or something." He said. I paid him no attention. "What for? I'll still be in a cage." I muttered absentmindedly, still reading the paper. "You've got a point. There we go." Max threw a sack with his things in over his shoulder and started to leave. "Later. Good luck to ya." He smiled on his way past. I watched him leave.
Not too soon after, a new guy appeared. Before the old man left, I may have taken his notebook. Oh well, I'm sure he wont miss it. "What's with the serious face?" The new guy interrupted my reading of Max's notebook. "Who the hell are you?" I slammed the notebook closed and glared at him. "That's no way to talk to your new cellmate, my little princess." He said with a pervy smile, leaning over me with his hands on the top bunk frame. "You gave it up to Garvey without a fight. Lets have some fun." The man stripped off his shirt, smiling down on me like I was a dog. I didn't let Garvey do anything, he was just helping me get outta here. I trust (Y/n) enough to get the job done.
"I'll be gentle." The now shirtless man grinned, getting closer to me. "Never. I just wanted to go to the infirmary then." I didn't lie. The guys gathered outside of the cell started saying some stuff, not that I paid attention to them. "You don't want me to get mad, old man." I stand up off the bed. "I'm used to dealing with guys like you." I closed my eyes and scratched the back of my neck. "Yeah? I cant wait to be dealt with." "Sure." Not what I meant, you stupid bastard. "But take good care of me, all right?" I smirked at him with my eyes half closed, leaning against the bedframe with my left hand by my face. Men like him who think with their dick are too easy to trick. There was whistling from outside and the guy in with me just chuckled.
He took a few steps closer, placing his greasy hand on my cheek. "You know how to survive here, don't you?" I stood there smirking as he brought his face closer. Before he could kiss me, I yanked the bedsheet from the top bunk and threw it over his head. Gotta give the folks a show, eh? My arm encircled around his neck, driving the larger man into the mirror at the other end of the cell. His face smashed the mirror and blood dripped out of his nose and onto the cloth. Taking it a step further, I ran to the bars of the cell and jumped onto them. I then pushed off and landed on the guys back, edging him closer to unconsciousness. My arm wrapped around his throat again, chocking the barely conscious man. I then moved to lay on the top bunk of the bed, strangling the guy with a pillow case. "I told you. I'm used to this." I growled, pulling the cloth tighter. Max had appeared at the bars and yelled, "Don't kill him, Ash!" There were some officers outside, I could tell by how the other inmates were acting outside. "Don't throw your life away for that trash!" For some reason, I listened to Max. Probably because I knew he was right. I smirked at him as he sighed in relief, jumping down from the top bunk.
"I don't need your help." I said, looking directly at Max until the bars slid open and I walked out, not looking at anyone.
~~~ Not gonna lie, I kinda loved that scene- Anyways, Have an amazing day/night. ~Author-Chan❤
