(Y/n)'s POV

I followed Ash out of the van, enjoying the fact that he had chosen to keep a hold of my hand. I looked around, taking in the beautiful landscape. We stood on a cliff, overlooking a sparkling sea. Ash refused to look up at the scenery. He stared at his feet and the ground. I squeezed his hand and leaned into him him slightly, smiling at him as Ash lifted his head slightly.

"Lets go." Ash suddenly said, leading us all down off the cliff and towards a small gathering of buildings. Surprisingly, no one had mentioned or questioned the fact me and Ash were holding hands. We headed towards a diner named 'Green Hill Diner.' Ash seemed a little more nervous as we approached the diner, but as soon as he pushed open the door he went back to his normal, cool, collected self. The hand that wasn't in mine went in his jacket's pocket.

There was a pretty woman behind the counter, cleaning glasses. When we entered, her head glanced around to us. "You..." She muttered, staring directly at Ash, her mouth hanging open. "How have you been, Jennifer?" He smiled slightly at her. "Aslan... you're Ash. Jim, hurry, come over here!" The woman, named Jennifer, called to someone in a backroom. There were heavy footsteps that made me instinctively tense up and expect the worse. After a moment, an older man with broad shoulders and a strong presence entered the room. "What are you screaming about?" He addressed the woman rather rudely. "Hey." Ash smirked casually, tilting his head in my direction. The mans response shocked me. He looked Ash dead in the eye and said, "What makes you think you can come back here, you whore." Ash seemed to take no notice of the mans tone of voice. He released the grip on my hand, wandering over to a table and sitting himself down on it. "Give me the keys to the house, and we'll leave. I'm just here to Griff's stuff."

The older man grunted, turning to me and the four men who had gathered in the doorway behind me. "And who are you guys?"
"Us? We're just..." Max started and was cut off by Ash saying, "Friends."
"Friends, huh?" The old guy chuckled, eyeing us all and stepping closer. "So what, you seduced them?" From when I first saw this guy, I knew I didn't like him. But seducing us? Really?  "What's that supposed to mean?" Max replied to the comment, raising his voice slightly.

"Drop it, old man. Just give me the keys." Ash sighed, and the old guy complied, placing the keys on the counter. By now, I had worked out that this guy was Ash's father. "Get out as soon as you're done." Jim said, walking away. I then stepped forwards, almost following the man. "Oi." I called after him, making him turn around. "What's up with all that bullshit?" I spat, referring to him calling Ash a whore. "Is that how you talk to your son?" I didn't take anymore steps forwards, attempting to supress the urge to punch Ash's dad.

"Who are they, your whores?" Jim said, turning back around. "You can sleep with my son if you want, but you better pay up." I took a deep breath, once again resisting the urge to punch Jim. I rolled my eyes at him, told him to go fuck himself, turned on my heel and left the diner. Ash managed to catch up to me before I walked out the door. He slung an arm over my shoulders and jingled the house keys in his hand. Ash stopped in the doorway. "Oh, by the way. Griffin's dead. Not that you'd care." He said before walking forward slightly faster out the door. "Wait, Ash!" Jennifer called after us, but Ash paid her no mind.

Once we were outside, I turned my body slightly and hugged Ash from the side. When the guy put an arm over my shoulders, I suddenly felt touched starved, something I never felt. Ash seemed to accept it, wrapping and arm around my waist and holding me close. Eiji walked past, wiggling his eyebrows at me as he went. I smirked back at him, stretching up to kiss Ash on the cheek. To my surprise, he didn't move away but kissed my forehead back in return. He then glared at Shorter, who had seen the whole thing. "Mention this to any of my or your guys..." Ash threatened, allowing Shorter to imagine the rest of the sentence.

"That's where Griff and I were born." Ash returned to his normal voice, nodding towards pretty little house. "He and I have different mothers. My mother drove his mother out, but the bitch left with a different guy when I was born." He explained, stepping to the front door and unlocking it. "Then dad began to live with Jennifer over at the diner. So Griff and I lived here alone." Ash's mood had significantly darkened as he turned the handle and stepped into the house. Before we could enter, Jennifer came up to us with a box and a lamp. "Ash!" She called, standing on the first step of the deck. "The electricity is cut off here. I bought some food, too." Ash thanked the woman, releasing his grip on my waist to accept the items. The pair had a short conversation, ending in Ash agreeing to go to the diner tomorrow morning for breakfast.

"Come on, go in." Ash said, placing a hand on the small of my back and guiding me inside. Usually I wouldn't allow someone to usher me about, but I didn't mind for some reason. Aside from the thick layer of dust that coated everything, the house was quite clean. Ash set the lamp and food down on a small, covered table. There was a sofa in te middle of the front room. It was covered by a green tartan rug. "(Y/n), could you get some candles from the draw behind you?" Ash asked, motioning to the wooden draw I was stood in front of. "Hm? Oh, sure." I turn around and open the draw, flinching slightly as something jumps out of it. "Bloody hell!" I yell at the rat that jumped from the draw to the floor before scampering off. I heard Shorter laugh behind me. "Oi! It scared me, okay?" When he continued to laugh, I walked up to him with a deadly serious expression, candle in hand. I then proceeded to throw the smallest candle from the draw at Shorter's head. It hit him square in the forehead, leaving a reddened mark. I then heard Ash chuckle from behind me. He walked up to me and placed his hands on my hips. I flinched away at first, but soon settle as it was only Ash.

"That's my girl." He breathed down my neck as he squeezed my waist one last time before slipping past, dragging his hands across my back as he went.

~~~
I dunno why but I feel like Ash would show his affection in little ways like coming up behind you and holding your hips/hugging you from behind and little forehead kisses. All. The. Damn. Time. especially in front of his guys so that they know you're taken. 🙃💖
Anyways,
Have an fantastic day/night,
