Chapter 39: Dinner

(Y/n) POV

When I woke up, the first thing I noticed was the prominent throbbing in my head. My vision was blurry, but one thing was clear. I wasn't where I was when I was knocked out.

"Remember me, assassin girl?" The irritatingly familiar voice of Arthur said right by my ear. I rolled my head sideways to look at him, narrowing my eyes to focus my vision and glare at him. "Arthur." I hissed, slowly looking around the room. "Don't worry, Ash will be here soon, to try to save you." Arthur smirked, I simply ignored him.

"Nice to see you again, (Y/n)." My eyes landed on the ugly bastard that could only be Dino. He smiled at me, his eyes glinting with something sinister. "Ah, so who is your dog Dino? Oh, that's right. It's you, isn't it Yau-Si? Although, I doubt that is your name." I leant back on the green sofa, resting one arm on the backrest while staring at 'Yau-Si'. I heard Arthur chuckle. "You're sharp, aren't you? He's not the only one. Look at who betrayed Ash and helped with your kidnapping."

Arthur moved to the side, revealing Shorter who was being held by two men. His head hung low, staring at the floor. "I wouldn't like to believe you. However, judging by the distressed look on his face, I can tell you're not. They threatened you or someone you care about, didn't they Shorter? Don't worry, I do not hate you." I said, getting up from the sofa and walking over to Shorter. I lifted is chin with my thumb and smiled. The poor guy was besides himself, he truly felt terrible for what he did. 

Two guys grabbed my arms from behind. I struggled a little, despite knowing it was futile. One of the men slipped an arm around my neck, holding me in a headlock. "(Y/n)!" Shorter yelled as he was dragged backwards and out a door. "Don't worry about me, Shorter. I'll be able to look after myself." Before Shorter could say anything back, the door was slammed shut.

I was then pushed towards Dino and forced to kneel before him, the two men applying much more pressure than needed. "We have a big job waiting for him. And for you, too." Dino said, towering over me and lifting my chin with his thumb and fore finger. "Yeah, I bet you do." I spat in his face, roughly pulling my head from the old mans grasp. Dino simply smirked down at me. "You have a strong personality, I like that."

A short while later, I was pulled to a lab. Shorter was strapped to a chair in the middle, his bare chest exposed as he eyed up a needle one of the 'doctors' had in hand. "(Y/n)!" He shouted when I entered. I watched in horror as the needle was brought to his skin and pushed in, injecting the cloudy liquid into Shorter's bloodstream. "You bastards! I'll curse you!" Shorter yelled as he struggled against his restraints. "Wait, stop!" I twisted sideways, making the two guys holding me smash into each other a loosen their grip long enough for me to escape. I rushed to Shorter's side, but by the time I got there everything in the vile had gone. "I'm so sorry, Shorter. You're gonna be okay, yeah? I promise you're going to be okay." I tried my best not to cry as the same two men seized my arms and dragged me back a few feet.

As soon as I stepped away, Shorter started to writhe in pain. His eyes got bigger and she screamed. It didn't last too long, but I still felt immensely guilty.

"Watch closely now. This is what Banana Fish is all about." Dino said with a grin, his beady eyes flicking between me and Shorter. There were some beeps and buzzes coming off various monitors they had attached to Shorter, though I didn't pay attention to them or what the people managing them said. Shorter was sweating, his breathing quick and panicked. "Shorter! Oi! Don't you dare fucking leave!" I called in vain, but I hoped for something from him.

"Hey." I glared at one of the 'doctors' in particular. "I know you. You're the one who shot Griffin." I growled as he walked up to me, taking me off the guys holding me. He dragged me forwards, slamming the side of my face into a table before Shorter. "Take a good look at this face." His grinned, lifting my head by my hair so I was staring straight into Shorter's terrified eyes. A few seconds later, the once brave and fearless man started to scream in fear. Fear of me.

"Let go of me." I spat, struggling against the guys tight grip. "If you don't kill her, you'll suffer from indescribable anguish." The 'doctor' grinned, holding my face up close to Shorter's. "Oi! Shorter, that's bullshit! I won't hurt you!" I shouted over his fearful screams. "Kill her! Tear her apart and pull her guts out!" The guy holding me cackled as a few tears slipped down my cheeks. I knew there was nothing I could do. There was no know anti-dote and Shorter was in pain. I felt so hopeless.

My eyes soon found their way to Dino, who was sat a few feet away. "I'll kill you, bastard!"

~Half an hour later~

Ah, here we go again.

I was tied to Dino's bedpost, fully naked with that silky haired bitch sat next to me, looking up at Dino all seductively.  A thin bedsheet covered me from the waist down, so at least my whole body wasn't on display. "You leaving?" The snake purred, laying on his stomach with his black hair down and falling over his shoulders. "The Lynx has arrive." Dino replied, making my eyes fly open. "But we were about to have so much fun." Yut-Lung complained, looking over my half-covered body. "She must be disappointed, too." I didn't do anything but glare at him, shivering from the cool air that ran over my exposed body.

"It can't be helped. I've invited them to diner. The two of you are dining with us." Dino said, taking one last look at the both of us before walking over to the door. "I can't wait. Reuniting with my dear friend, Ash Lynx." Yut-Lung said, watching as Dino punched in a group of numbers to open the door, no doubt memorising them.#

As soon as Dino left Yut-Lung untied the rope that bound me to the bedframe, I instantly leaned forwards and wrapped the sheet over my bare chest. "Are you alright? You are trembling." He pointed out, making me notice that I was indeed trembling. "Yeah. I'm fine." I replied plainly, not looking him in the eye. "Okay. We should get ready for dinner."

Dino had been... 'kind' enough to leave us some clothes to change into. My outfit was exactly the same as the one he had given me before. A soft black silk was a dress with a thigh slit and a halter neck. He even included a pair of earrings that were white gold with large rubies in the centre, they surely costed an insane amount of money. 

Yut-Lung then led the way to the dining hall, where Max and Ibe were sat in tuxedos and looking very confused. At the head of the table, sat Dino of course. Arthur was also there, his hair slicked back and looking even more stupid than usual. I sat beside Yut-Lung, opposite an empty space. Not that it'd be empty for long.

Moments later, the doors to the dining room swung open. They revealed a well dressed Ash. He too was wearing a suit, his hair brushed and slicked back to show the stunning jade gemstone in his left ear. Dino's eyes gleamed at the sight of him, you could practically see the drool coming from the corner of his mouth. Ash's intimidating green eyes fell on me and softened slightly, but he still remained stony-faced. 

"Let us begin." Dino grinned, clapping his hands twice.
