Song: As The World Caves In
By: Matt Maltese
(Y/n) POV
I woke up around 2:25am, alone. Ash was no longer there, the comforting warmth of his lap had vanished and been replaced pillow. I sat up, scanning around the room. Eiji was still fast asleep on the sofa opposite, but Bones and Kong were gone. I got up from the sofa, walking around the apartment calling out softly for Ash, being careful not to wake Eiji. Finally coming to the conclusion that he wasn't there, I pulled on a jacket and rummaged around in some of Ash's stuff, finding a spare gun along with some bullets. It was an old-fashioned revolver, one that Ash seemed to prefer. When I was ready, I quickly scribbled a note down for Eiji, telling him that I was going out and would be back soon, so he shouldn't worry. Although, I doubt he would listen to the 'don't worry' bit.
Opening the front door, I almost walked straight into Bones an Kong, who both looked slightly restless. "Where are you going?" Kong questioned almost immediately, standing in my way. "Where the hell have you been?" I asked angrily back, taking a step towards the pair. "It's 2:34 in the bloody morning!" Bones looked down at his feet, shifting nervously under my glare. "Good thing you're up, we're going to the airport..." He muttered, finally meeting my eyes. I raised an eyebrow at him, giving an 'excuse me, what?' look. "Mhm okay. Where's Ash?" I hummed, crossing my arms over my chest while continuing to stare daggers at the two. "Boss told us to take you to the airport." Bones sighed. I was taken aback. I knew Ash wanted me to go home with Eiji, but now? Something definitely wasn't right.
"What are you hiding from me?" I questioned, taking another step towards them and shutting the apartment door behind myself. "Tell me. What. Is. Going. On." I growled as if threatening the two men, which in a way, I was. "This is hard on us too. Boss can't do his job when you're around." My shoulders slumped when Bones said that, but I soon stood up straight again. "Well, I guess I really am a nuisance." I chuckled in an attempt to hide the fact that I was genuinely hurt. I ran a hand through my hair, rolling my head back to gaze at the ceiling. "Oh well. I still need you to tell me where Ash is, Bones. Please? I'm worried about him..." I smiled, looking back down at Bones and Kong, a single tear escaping my eye. I could see Bones and Kong mentally themselves himself, trying to obey their boss's orders but also hating seeing me cry. "Ugh... he's fighting Arthur now at... East Broadway Station...to settle it once and for all." Bones mumbled, finally caving. I moved forwards swiftly, hugging the smaller man before turning to Kong and hugging him. "Thank you. I'll be sure that Ash doesn't kick your arses for telling me!" I yelled over my shoulder, sprinting down the corridors to the elevator.
I could hear Bones and Kong yelling behind me, begging me to stop, but I kept on running until I was in the elevator and going down. Upon reaching the ground floor, I headed straight towards East Broadway Station, which I knew exactly where was. I was running as fast as I could for a good ten minuets before skidding to a halt at the top of a stair case leading down. I could hear gunshots, shouting and a train grinding to a halt. Going down these stairs would most likely be suicide... oh well.
I bounded down the stairs, leaping down three at a time before quickly doing a forwards roll off the last jump to behind a metal ceiling support. Pulling the revolver from an inside pocket of my jacket, I loaded it before poking around the side of the beam, shooting a bullet straight through the head of some guy who was getting off the train and hand an automatic aimed at me. There was a flash of blonde hair as Ash dived behind a support beam, not to far from where I was. "Ash!" I called, somewhat relieved. "(Y/n)? What the hell are you doing here?"
"Saving your arse apparently. Oi! Catch!" I replied with a smirk, throwing the gun through the air to him, quickly getting back under cover. There wasn't much I could o now, as I was unarmed and would be shot dead if I moved. "Damn it. We're pulling!" Arthur yelled, just as the train started moving again. There was a high, clear whistle and people started coming out of hiding, carrying everything from guns to baseball bats. Luckily. they ignored me.
I poked my head out from around the beam just in time to see Ash dive into a train carriage. "Ash! What the fuck are you doing?" I yelled, coming out from my position and looking around. "Bloody hell." I groaned to myself, looking around at the amount of bloody and bodies on the floor. I though I was okay until there was a final gunshot. I let out an involuntary yelp as a bullet tore through my right shoulder, falling to the ground in front of me. "Fuck!" I cried, holding my heavily bleeding shoulder. I fell to my knees as a tall black man walked over to me, standing over me. "Who are you?" He barked as a smaller boy came up beside him. "I'm (Y/n), I'm with Ash?" I grunted, feeling my head start to go fuzzy an light. "Damn he's gonna kill us... I'm Cain Blood, also an acquaintance of Ash Lynx."
"Yeah yeah, enough of the chit chat. Where is that train going?" I asked, slowly getting up onto wobbly legs. "Coney Island." The short guy answered. "Right, so that's where we go." I said, but my body wanted something different to my mind. My shoulder throbbed an blood poured out of it, soaking the my shirt and jacket as my head was light and fuzzy, a constant reminder that I needed medical treatment, now. Where as my mind was telling me to go after Ash, and that he'd get himself killed if he wasn't careful.
Although, we both know he doesn't fear death. But neither do I.
