Song: Our Word

Ash's POV
I lay with (Y/n) for a while, about an hour or so. She fell asleep, curled up in a ball facing me. I didn't want to wake her up, but I also didn't want to risk getting into another argument like the last one. Taking in a deep breath, I gently shook her awake. "A-Ash? What's up?" She mumbled sleepily, sitting up slowly and stretching. "I'm going now. I'll be back before 11." I smiled a little, leaning in and kissing her on the forehead. (Y/n) lifted a hand, stroking my cheek before letting it fall back to the bed, along with the rest of her body. "As long as you come back uninjured."
"I will, you don't need to worry about me."
"I always worry about you." She chuckled sadly, sinking back under the bedsheets. "I always will." I couldn't help but smile at her words, it was nice to have someone who cared. Although I still found myself doubting how much (Y/n) really cared. It always lingered in the back of my mind that she wanted something in return, money? Sex? Both? No matter how hard I pushed it away, the thought was always there. After all, no body does things for nothing, right?
(Y/n) POV
"Eiji! What the hell are you doing?!" I yelped, leaving my room after a few hours to see the living room filled with Halloween decorations and a few gang members. "Setting up for a Halloween party!" Bones answered for him, throwing a bat bunting at me. "Oh, cool! I've never had a Halloween party before... what?" Bones and Kong looked at me as if I had turned into an alien or something. "Y-you've never had a Halloween party before?" Bones exclaimed, jumping up from the sofa with his arms raised. "Well, no. I've never really had the chance too! Besides, Halloween parties aren't as big of a thing in England."
"England?!" Bones and Kong yelled simultaneously. "Yeah? That's where I lived for most of my life."
"Well then, can I get you a cuppa mate?" The pink haired boy said in a terrible 'English accent', as he called it. He then proceeded to run up to me, grab my shoulders and stare directly into my eyes. "Have you met the Queen? Why do you eat beans on toast? Why do you love queuing? Why do you-" Before he could continue, I placed a hand on his cheek, firmly shoving his face away from mine. I may have overdone it, as Bones landed on the floor with a thud and an unamused expression. "But-" He started, but I cut him off my throwing the bat bunting at his face. "Shut up." I rolled my eyes, looking up to see the rest of the room silent, but trying to suppress their laughter. "It's okay, you can laugh. It's funny." I chuckled, lending a hand to Bones to help him off the floor.
Half an hour later, all the decorations were up and we were all sat around a table, carving pumpkins. Well, apart from Eiji who had gone to get some food a drink. Pumpkin carving was a pretty new thing to me. I had a very distant and blurry memory of me and my brother doing it together, but that was many years ago now. I did a very simple design, just the classic 'jack o lantern' with triangle eyes, nose and pointy teeth. It wasn't half bad and I was pretty proud of it. "I Think I'm going to roast some of these pumpkin seeds." I mused to myself, picking up the bowl of pumpkin guts from the middle of the table and digging through them to get the seeds. "That's a good idea, (Y/n)!" Eiji, who had just gotten back, grinned as he place down multiple different food on the kitchen counter. I smiled back at him, carrying my handfuls of pumpkin seeds to the kitchen. I rinsed them under some cold water before tossing them into a pan, filling it up with water and putting it on the hob to boil. I added some salt to the water and let the sees simmer for about five minuets before taking them out.
Rummaging through the kitchen cupboards, I found some sesame seed oil and some chilli powder. Adding the oil an chilli powder to the seeds, I then placed them on a baking tray and then that baking tray into the oven and waited. By now, Eiji had just finished putting the party food on plates. "Look at this pumpkin pie Mrs. Coleman from downstairs made for us!" He smiled, slipping it onto a serving platter before carrying it to the main table where all the other foods were lay out.
When everything was ready, Eiji forced a witch hat onto my head, threatening that if I took it off he would smash a pumpkin pie over my head. It was only a matter of time before Ash arrived, so I just sat on the sofa and waited. It was 9PM and already dark outside, pumpkins with little flickering candles lit up the streets along with some Halloween themed fairy lights and other decorations. I was just admiring it when the lock in the front door turned, taking my attention back to the room. Ash walked in, looking rather tired. He soon woke up, as two pumpkins appeared in his face, yelling "Happy Halloween!" at him. "What's with all these Pumpkin?!" He fearfully, backing up against the door. "Oh come on!" Eiji whined, removing the pumpkin from his head. "It's Halloween!" He then went on to explain which foods on the table were from which one of our neighbours, earning an even more confused look from Ash. "You're buddies with the housewives here?" Ash now had his back pressed up against a wall, slowly shifting sideways to get away from the pumpkins, which he looked at as if they were going to suddenly come alive and eat him. Then it hit me. Biting the inside of my lower lip to contain my laughter, I walked up to Ash and gave him a quick hug. "Are you afraid of pumpkins?" I asked him when I pulled away, looking him in the eye. He didn't need to answer, his body was trembling slightly as he eyes up the evil orange things.
"Aww my baby!" I chuckled lightly, pulling Ash's head down into my shoulder as I hugged him. He stiffened slightly for a moment, but soon relaxed a little more, still shaking. "Come sit with me. I'll go get you a drink." I smiled, planting a discreet kiss on his cheek before pulling away and leading him to one of the sofa's. "Beer?" I asked, leaning over the back of the sofa to get Ash's answer. He simply nodded, still eyeing up the pumpkins with some sort of murderous intent towards them. I disappeared for a moment, meeting Eiji in the kitchen also getting himself a drink. "What's up with Ash?" He asked innocently, pouring a can of beer into a glass. "He's scared of pumpkins." I frowned, getting Ash his can of beer from the fridge as well as a (favourite cold drink) for myself. Eiji released a strangled sound as he tried, and failed, to suppress a laugh. "H-He's what?" He giggled, almost spilling his drink everywhere. "I know." I snickered, walking back to the living room. Bones and Kong were trying to convince Ash to play a game with them, Ash was resisting. "Hey! (Y/n)! You'll play charades with us, right?!" Bones asked me, bounding towards me with his drink in hand. "Uh- yeah I guess so." I smiled at him, taking my place on a sofa next to Ash, handing him his drink. He nodded his thanks before opening the can and downing the whole thing in one.
"Okay." He said, wiping his mouth on the back of his hand. "If (Y/n) is playing, then I guess I will too." Ash rolled his eyes and Bones and Kong whooped loudly. I chuckled and rested my head on Ash's shoulder, taking a sip of my drink.
"Well, this could be interesting."
