Song: All of Me
By: John Legend
Ash's POV
I sat with my back against a cool stone wall. So far, I had been left alone, but whoever was next door to me hadn't. I could hear their muffled cries through the wall. It didn't take me long to realise it was (Y/n). I honestly had no idea what had happned to her, I could only guess.
After a short while, two soldiers came into the room I was in. Calling them soldiers felt wrong, because they weren't true military men... not anymore anyways. "Lucky for you, pretty boy, but we have had clear orders not to do any lasting damage to you." A guy with graying hair sigh, walking closer and crouching down in front of me. He blew a puff of smoke into my face before dropping the cigarette, not even bothering to snuff it out. Needless to say, that was a mistake.
My hands were still tied behind my back with rope, too tight for me to easily escape from. The second man in the room suddenly landed a kick on my shoulder. I threw my body further over to the side than the kick alone would have cause, my back arching over the glowing cigarette butt. I felt around carefully with my fingers to find it, and when I did, I lifted it up so that the hot part was pressed against the rope that bound me. While I did that, water was thrown over my face, and my body received many more blows. I silently willed it to hurry up as was pulled upwards by my hair. "You're nothing but a man-whore! And that girl next door is just as bad, if not worse. Honestly, what a slu-"
As if on command, a hole was burnt through the rope and my hands were freed. In one swift movement, I grabbed the knife from the holdster on the mans thigh, stabbing him with his own weapon. He let out a small noise before shoved him off to the side. The second guy, who was by the door lighting a cigarette, was surprised to see a knife flying towards him. It hit my mark, landing right between his eyes. I watched as he fell backwards, his finger pulling the trigger on the gun he was holding. I didn't wait a moment longer. Running past the dead man, I pulled the knife from his head as well as the assult rifle from his hand. Then made my way to the room (Y/n) was in. "(Y/n), stand back from the door! Find cover if you can." I shouted, waiting a moment before shooting a round of bullets at the door lock. It fell to the floor, opening the room up for me to enter.
(Y/n) was curled up in a ball in a corner. Her head perked up as soon as she heard my footsteps, sitting her bleeding body up. I gritted my teeth, rushing over to her. Her body was trembling, everything was exposed from the waist up. The clothes she was wearing now just shreds in a heap. I placed down the gun and knife, quickly slipping off my jacket and wrapping it around her and doing up the buttons on the front. "Ash..." She muttered quietly as if she didn't truly believe I was there. Her eyes were reddened wth tears sparkling along the waterline. I pulled her close momentarily, gently kissing her forehead. "You're okay now. But we need to hurry and get out of this place." I wiped a tear away with my thumb before standing up, offering my hand to help her. She took it, allowing herself to be lifted off the floor. Her balence wasn't great, legs wobbling beneath her. "I- I'm not sure how much I can run... I'm kinda sore." She sighed, moving as fast as her body would allow her too. "It's okay. I'll protect you, yeah?" I reassured her, leading the way out of the building.
Of course, we didn't get escape without interruptions. We had to hide behind a wall to protect oursleves from bullets. "Face me, Foxx!" I shouted, anger dripping from my tone. If I didn't hate the man before, I sure as hell did now. "We'll meet again my precious (Y/n), and you Ash. Don't forget what I said." I heard (Y/n) curse under her breath as there was a metalic clang, followed by the area filling with smoke. "He's going to kill me." She whispered, her trembling body tenseing as footsteps approched rapidly. "What? No he's not. I won't let him do that." I tried to comfort her verbally, but it wasn't working. That was when Eiji's voice rung out through the hallway. He called out names, coming closer followed by Sing, Cain as well as Jessica. "You idiots, why did you come back?!" I groaned more agressivly than I meant too, anxious to get out of this damned place. "We've got to get out of here!" I ordered, the group turning around and running back the way they came. I took (Y/n)'s hand, pulling her to follow but she didn't move. She looked like she had seen a ghost. "(Y/n), c'mon. We've got to go!" I urged, but my words went over her head.
Giving up on her following me, I stepped closer and quickly picked her up, carrying her out of the building. I didn't know what had freaked her out all of a sudden, but that didn't matter now. I ran as fast as I could behind Eiji, following them out.
It didn't take long, and by the time we were out in the open, (Y/n) had come to her senses. One after the other, we climbed ontop of wooden crates and over a wall, jumping down the 6 foot drop. Everyone sat down or keeled over, panting desperatly from the run. (Y/n) was stood up, her back to the group as she undid the buttons of my jacket. I watched as she winced, running a finger down her ribcage. "Are you okay? Let me see your wounds." Eiji offered kindly to her, stepping closer and resting a hand on her shoulder. Much to everyones surprise, (Y/n) roughly swatted his hand away, leaving a red mark on the back of Eiji's hand. Her breathing was laboured, body still trembling.
"What's wrong?" Sing asked quietly, looking over with concern. (Y/n) wrapped the jacket back around her, turning and appologising to Eiji for hitting him so harshly. The boy just smiled it off, knowing not to do it again. Jessica watched the exchange with sympathy in her eyes. I knew, she knew. And (Y/n) probably did too.
(Y/n) turned around, walking herself to a crate nearby and sitting down on it. She rested her head in her hands, bending over as much as her wounds would allow. Eiji motioned to me wth his eyes to go over, which I didn't need telling to do. I got up, walking over and kneeling down infront of her. I took her hands in my own, rubbing them and smiling up at her. Fresh tears fell from her eyes, slipping down her cheeks. I stood up, pulling her head into my chest gently. I let her sob, my shirt getting wet in the process.
"It's okay now. It's alright. I'm sorry my love, I failed to protect you." I kissed the top of her head, my hands rubbing her back softly.
