Chapter 58: Arrested

(Y/n) POV

I don't remember much from passing outto waking up, but faint images of laying in an ambulance floated around in my head. I could just make out Ash laying beside me, an oxygen mask over his face while he stayed compleatly still. I must have drifed in and out of conciousness, as that's all I know.

"(Y/n) (L/n), you are free to go." A Doctor interrupted my thoughts. At that time, I was still in hospital, laying on a bed. My shoulder had been stitched and wrapped, there wasn't much else to do. Yeah, I was still sore, but from a medical point of veiw, I was all right now. "Okay." I replied, standing from the bed. My clothes had been taken an washed, but some blood stains still remained, especially on my shirt. Not that it mattered, I just wanted to see Ash.

After quickly changing, I wandered out into the hallways of the hospital, where a small group of police officers waited. One of them turned around and looked at me, clipboard in hand. "Are you Miss (Y/n) (L/n)?" He asked, looking from his clipboard to me then back at the clipboard. "Yup, that's me. Why'd you ask?" I sighed, walking up to them with my hands in my pockets. "Miss (L/n), I am arresting you on suspicion of murder and asisting the gang leader, Ash Lynx. You do not have to say anything, but it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned, something which you later rely on in court, and anything you do say may be given in evidence." 
"Damn, you have to say that everytime you arrest someone? Well, my respect for you hasn't risen but I'm glad I'm not a cop." I responded with an eyeroll as handcuff were secured around my wrists. 

"Oi oi oi! No need for those, I'll follow willingly!" I yelled as the metal tighted, pulling against the restraints which probably didn't make my words any more believable. "Calm down, the more you struggle the tighter they'll get!" The officer who had put them on growled, pulling me forwards by the handcuffs. Just then Charlie, Ibe and Max rounded the corner. They took a second to take in the scene. "Oh thank god! Charlie, tell them I don't need handcuffs?!" I yelled at the confused investigator, noticing Eiji had now come i to veiw. I was still struggling agaisnt the handcuffs, causing the skin on my wrists to redden. "That's enough of that. Remove the cuffs, she will follow without any resistance." Charlie said sternly, making the officer who was holding me loosen the restrainst enough for me to get free. As soon as the metal from taken from my wrists, Eiji came up to me while I rubbed the sore red marks. "(Y/n)! Are you alright?" He asked worridly, taking both my hands in his and looking me in the eye. "Eh. I will be." I replied, stepping forwards and resting my chin on Eiji's shoulder, pulling him into a hug. Which he gladly returned.

"Have you been able to see Ash? Is he alright?" I asked Eiji once we pulled away, Charlie was tralking something over with the officers, so we had some time. Eiji frowned, his gaze falling to the floor. "I- I don't know.... he's in surgery now but (Y/n), he might not make it." He sniffed, tears falling from his eyes. I gasped, taking a step back with wide eyes. "What? he might not... make it?" I muttered, my mind running at a million miles an hour.

"I'm sorry, Miss (Y/n), but it's time to go." One of the police officers said, tapping my shoulder lightly. I simply nodded silently, not being able to think straight. Eiji looked up at me with sad eyes, clearly wanting to say more but not having the time. I sent him a small smile before following the officers down the corridors and out the hospital. When we got out, there was a couple of police cars waiting not far away from the doors. I was put into one, the door closed behind me with a loud slam. I sighed, sinking into the seat deep in thought as an officer slipped in on the other side. He gave me a slightly sympathetic look, a small smile tugging at his lips. He was an older man, 55 perhaps. Premature wrinkles covered his face, making the guy look older that me really was. 

"How far is it?" I asked him out of curiosity. "Not far. About a ten minutes away, we'll be there soon." The old officer replied, ruffleing his thinning hair. Once again I sighed, looking out the window and watching as we travelled through New York City.

After driving for much longer that the police officer had said, we finally arrive at the prison. I was put inside a dim lit cell, along with a group of other people. One of them, I recognised as Cain Blood. Another as Sing Soo-Ling. I walked over to them, greeting the two men with a simple nod. For some reason, I was the only woman in there. "Nah, nobody is strong enough. He'll only be killed if he brings it upon himself." Cain said, clearly he was having a conversation with Sing before I arrived. "Who are you on about?" I asked, looking up at the tall man next to me as we lent against a wall. "Ash." He replied simply, looking around at his guys who were also in the cell with us. "Arthur could never kill him. No way in hell would Ash let that happen." I sighed, leaningmy head back against the cool stone. To be honest, I don't even know if Ash is alive or if he ha woken up. I don't know what I'd do if he didn't come round. There would no longer be a place for me here in New York, or anywhere really. Apart from Japan with Eiji... maybe, but I don't want my problems to follow Eiji and his family. It wouldn't be fair.

But for now, I'm not going anywhere. So I have some time to think about my next move, whatever that will be.

So, I was just reading my chapters from the begining an I had no idea how much the character of (Y/n) changed in the like... 10 chapters.... I may go back and change it when I've finished writing the rest of this book (Especially chap 1)
