Song: Not Another Song About Love
By: Hollywood Ending
(Y/n) POV
Without turning around, I reached a hand out to Ash. "Give me a gun. I'm more than capable of protecting myself."
"No." He replied, pushing past me and out the busted door. "No? Why not? Actually, never mind. I don't feel like talking right now." I said through gritted teeth, following Ash out the door.
We walked silently, me forced to stay behind Ash, much to my frustration. When we rounded a corner, two men approached us from the front, one from behind. I reached across Ash's chest, making sure not to disrupt what he was doing, and took the pistol from a pocket in the specialised straps he wore over his chest. Without hesitation, I fired three shots into the mans chest. Ash looked over his shoulder, ignoring the three corpse that surrounded us. "Are you okay?" He asked, watching as I walked over to the banister and looked down. "Hm? Yeah, fine." I nodded, Ash smiled slightly and grabbed my wrist, dragging me down a corridor.
"Footsteps, from the left. Four... no, five men." I warned, pulling Ash back as he one again raised the large gun he held, while I aimed my pistol. Five men appeared around the corner, all holding guns which were pointed at us, but lowered when they saw Ash. "You guys." He muttered, also averting his weapon. "Boss!" They grinned in unison, coming closer. "But how?" Ash asked, looking over all the men who were presumably in his gang. "The Chinese lent us a hand. They're here to help Shorter." I winced at the guys words.
"Oi, can I borrow your blade?" I asked, gesturing to a guy standing at the back. "Blade?"
"I want to use your knife." I sighed, holding one hand out while pinching the bridge of my nose with the other. "O-oh sure..." He mumbled, blushing slightly and pulling the knife from his waistband. He threw the knife to me, which I caught easily. I knelt down. "Why are dresses so damn hard to run in?" I muttered to myself, slicing through the silk halfway up my thigh all the way around so I could move more easily. I then too the discarded material, walking up to Ash and wrapping it around his arm. Or, trying to.
"Hey!" He grumbled, pulling away, to which I rolled my eyes and grabbing his arm roughly. "Let me." I said sternly, wrapping the black silk around his arm. This time he didn't struggle away and let me, while his gang members just stood and watched. "U-um... miss, why do you have blood all up your legs?" A guy with pinkish, rat tailed hair asked. "That's unimportant." Ash replied for me, turning to address his guys.
"Listen up, Dino must already know what's going on. We have to get out of here before they come." He told them in a matter-of-fact tone. "Smash their cars so they can't chase us." He continued as I started to shift uncomfortable. "All right, lets do this!" One of the men yelled, punching his fist into the air and running off, closely followed by the others.
Ash turned to me, placing a hand on my shoulder. "Are you sure you're alright?" He asked one everyone else had disappeared. "I will be, once we get out of here. And I mean we, don't go running off okay?" I replied, leaning into the contact a little. Ash wrapped his arms around my shoulder and pulled me in. "We will soon, just hang on a little longer." I nodded as we walked to where the garage was, to where Ash's gang was currently smashing up cars.
"Leave that red one." Ash called out as we entered the garage, pointing to a shiny red sports car. "I'm riding that later."
"Later? Aren't you coming with us?" One of the members asked, lowering the crowbar he held as he talked. "There's something I still have to do here." Ash replied then looked down at me. "I'm sorry, but don't worry. I won't be too long after you." He whispered, pulling me closer into his side. "You were right. We can't just leave Shorter here."
"You won't let me go with you?"
"Nope."
"Not even if I threaten to kiss you in front of your guys."
"Oh no, go right ahead. They need to know you're mine anyways." Ash smirked, tilting my chin up with his thumb. I frowned and pulled away, much to his disappointment. "Fine, just don't get yourself killed, okay?" I looked down at my feet, resting my forehead against Ash's exposed and slightly bloody shoulder. "Don't you dare die on me. I wouldn't be able to cope with that." I mumbled just loud enough for Ash to hear.
"I'll be fine." He whispered into my hair before turning to one of his guys. "Alex, take good care of her." He commanded, ruffling my hair with one hand. "Sure thing, boss." The man, Alex, replied, watching as Ash showed affection towards me. "Don't let her be alone until I come back." With that, Ash pulled away from me. "Y-Yeah, gotcha." Alex muttered, a slight pink tinting his cheeks along with a confused look on his face. Before he left, Ash placed a soft kiss on my forehead, then turned and walked away.
"I'll be waiting for you, Ash." I called after him, making him stop for a moment. He didn't wait long, or even look back before he disappeared. It worried me.
"Um... so what's your name?" The guy called Alex asked, tapping my shoulder gently. I spun around instantly. "(Y/n)." I replied shortly, glancing around at all the men. "Come one, we're going to base." I nodded and followed Alex into a car, filled with other gang members. Once everyone was in, the man who was in the drivers seat turned on the engine and we drove away.
It didn't take long to get to 'base', only about half an hour or so. Once let in, I glanced around. The walls were covered in graffiti, there was a table and sofa but most importantly, a bed. The bed had grey sheets, not that it mattered. I walked over to the bed, throwing myself down on it. I groaned, sitting up. "Does the shower work?" I asked, spotting it through an open bathroom door. "Uh, yeah it should do. Feel free to take a shower." Alex responded to my question, settling down on the sofa. "Okay." I yawned, standing up and making my way to the bathroom.
I locked the door and instantly spotted a black hoodie. Picking it up, I instantly knew it was Ash's and smiled slightly. I turned on the water, stripped off and got into the hot shower. Warm water ran over my skin, turning the water a red-brown colour. When I was finished, I dried off with a grey towel, pulled on some underwear and Ash's hoodie over the top. It was warm and a little too big for me, going half way down my thighs. Like that, I walked out the bathroom and fell onto the bed in the corner, nestling under the covers, completely ignoring the stares of the other gang members.
I breathed deeply, inhaling the smell of the sheets before slowly falling asleep.
