Song: Can You Feel My Heart
By: Bring Me The Horizon
Ash's POV
Foxx sat atop of me, relishing in the fact I was pinned and unable to do anything about it. He licked his lips slightly, pressing the matal pole harder against my throat. My mind was racing. Desperately trying to think of how to get out of the situation, if that was even possible.
That was when the ground beneath us shook violently, a loud explosion rocking the air. There was a faint cry of shock that distracted Foxx temporarily. It wasn't long. But it was long enough for me to fight him back. Quickly grasping the pole, I thrust it forwards into his nose, kicking his stomach simultainiously. There was a crunch as it made contact, blood now pouring from his broken nose. My body moved by itself, jerking away from the man before me. I couldn't move particularly well, but adrenaline was numbing any injuries I had. Still, moving was difficult.
I didn't get very far before I was roughly pushed back to the floor, a new searing pain spreading through my shoulder. Foxx's face was twisted in an inhumane way as he rocked the thing he had burried in my shoulder back and fourth. I cried out in pain, useing all the strength I had left to try and fight him off me. A drill lay an arms length away from me. Slowly, painfully slowly, I reached over towards it, my fingertips wrapping around the handle. Once I had it within my grasp, I turned it on, driving it into Foxx's abdomen. He groaned in pain, but I kept pushing it deeper and deeper as we struggled against each other. Sweat dripped from his face, landing on mine and mixing with my own cold sweat. I had lost too much blood. How much longer could I hold on? I was praying Foxx would give up, or pass out. Even better, die.
Eventually, and ever so gradually, his grip on the knife loosened and his body swayed. His eyes rolled to the back of his head, body slipping to the ground with a thud. I shoved him off me, standing up as best I could. Everything hurt, especially the hole left by the knife I ripped from my shoulder. I stood over Foxx for a moment, taking in what had just happened. I had killed him. I sighed in relief, knowing that we wouldn't have to worry about him anymore.
Soft groans of effort came from somewhere below me, and I panicked slightly. I rushed to the edge of the building, looking over to see Sing holding on by his fingertips, dangleing over a pit of fire. "Sing!" I called to him, turning and sprinting down flights of stairs to get to the level he was on. I got there just in time. He let go of the building, dropping a foot before I caught him. "Give me your other hand!" I shouted down to him, feeling the burning in my shoulder increase. "But-"
"Just drop it." I smiled weakly at him, careing more about his life than the contents of that case. He did as I said, releasing the breifcase, dropping it into the carpet of flames below. But just as he was about to come over the edge, a gun was cocked behind my head. "Too bad." None other than Foxx breathed, wheezing with every word. I froze. I though I'd killed him? I thought he was dead. "Let the boy go, and you might just be able to live."
"Ash! Just let me go!" Sing cried, pulling against my hands as I stayed still, refusing to let him die here. "Don't move." I told him, holding on tighter as I closed my eyes, leaning back so my head brushed the cool metal. "I told you. You can't win against me." He smirked, his pride evident in his tone. His words were followed by a gunshot, but not from his gun. To my left, stood Dino. Gun in hand and raised, his face expressionless. I gasped a little, pulling Sing up fully before standing to face him. My fists were balled, my face blank. Dino's finger brushed the trigger, a smirk tugging at his lips. He looked... proud? Yes, he looked proud. So, so proud. Of me? I don't know. That was the last expression I ever saw from Dino Golzine as he tipped himself over, plummeting into the inferno of wild flames several stories below, that look of pride never leaving his face.
I watched as he fell, and stared into the orange glow for minutes after in a daze. It was Sing who broke me out of it, coming to my side and peering over the edge. "There won't even be any bones left." He started, removing a glove and rubbing his hand. "Wasn't that suitcase important? Why did you save me? You and I are..." He asked nervously, regret in his voice. "Fortget it." I cut him off, looking at him with a soft smile. "I didn't save you just to kill you. Even if we kill each other, it's just mean some guy will make an extra 10 bucks." I sighed, glancing down at my blood stained clothes, my hands coated in the thick red liquid. "Let's end this. All this insanity." I chuckled softly to myself, turning fully to look at Sing. "Answer me honestly, do you really want to fight me?" I asked, pressing a hand to my shoulder. "No! I just wanted everyone to be satisfied." Sing exclaimed quickly, relief showing on his features. He looked as if he might cry.
"They will. You did a great job." I patted his shoulder with my free hand. "You should be proud of yourself." He nodded, muttering a quite thank you. "I don't mean to interrupt... but we should leave before the win changes." Blanca hummed, sneaking up behind us with a somewhat happy expression. "It will be chaos before long." He came closer, his entire body reeking of smoke, ash was smeared across his face and his hair was sticking up in all sorts of weird angles. "Another Indiana Jones reference?" I rolled my eyes at him, turning to look away. "If you want to burn to death, be my guest. However, I know at least one person who would be devestated." I ignored his comment. "You were watching, right?"
"Yeah."
"Damn you. Just save us already then." I muttered, pain slowly growing as the rush of adrenaline left my system. "I figured you wanted to end it your way. He must be satisfied, too." He sighed, wiping some of the black soot from his face, staring down at the dying fire.
Dawn was just begining to break as we made out way from the building. Bright rays of new sunlight broke through the buildings. They were the closest thing to hope in this place. Or what was left of it now.

Despite being incredibly intelligent, Ash forgets about Valentines. (Plus we all know hes got other stuff to think about, but thats not the point) Shorter, however, deffinatly remembers and buys chocolate for his sister to show her how much he appreciates her.
"hey, Ash! Did you get (Y/n) anything for Valentines day?"
"Valen- that's today? Shit. Uh, I gotta go!"
He runs to the nearest florist, buys a single rose (idk just feels like he would) and some chocolate. He is super embarressed to give them to you, and goes bright pink. Then you spend the rest of the day chilling, eating chocolate, cuddling and watching films ✨
Anyways~
Have an amazing day/night,
