Song: Let Her Go
By: Passenger

Ash's POV

When Yut-Lung had left, I started swinging on the chains, slowly gaining enough momentum to spin the whole way around a thick, metal ceiling support above. It hurt my wrists, but it was worth it. When on top, I slid the key from my waistband and undid the chains, freeing myself.

"How did you get the key?" Max asked, looking upwards at me. "We can talk later." I replied, sliding down the chains as far as I could before jumping down about 5ft. The key I had also worked on the chains binding Max and Ibe to a ceiling support, so I swiftly unlocked them. "Come on." I whispered, running towards the door and carefully slipping out.

The dim hallways were empty, aside from the two unconscious guards Yut-Lung had knocked out. Or perhaps they were dead... either way, they didn't interfere. "Hey, where are you going?" Max muttered quietly as we stood with our backs against a cool stone wall. I didn't answer him, but instead ran down the corridor and the two men followed.

There was a door locked by a keypad door lock, which I just so happened to know the pattern for. Max and Ibe watched as I pressed the numbers in. The metal door slid open, revealing a small room containing multiple types of firearms. "It's an armoury!" Max exclaimed with shock, his eyes wide as we all wandered inside. "They're all smuggled goods. You can handle a gun, right?" I asked back to Max, picking up a weapon and the ammunition that went with it. "You're talking to an Iraq veteran."  Max replied with a smirk, also picking up a gun of choice and bullets while Ibe just stood in a mix of shock and awe.

"You too get out of here while I draw their attention." I commanded when me and Max both had weapons and extra bullets. "What about you?" Max asked, not attempting to disagree with me. "I'm going to find (Y/n)." Was my reply as I looked at them sternly. Neither of them said any thing back, but instead just nodded and stood up.

As a group, we snuck out the armoury after I threw in a small bomb that would go off in 5 minuets. Before we parted, Max shook one of my shoulders as I peered around a corner at two guys. "Don't die." He smirked as I took a deep breath and burst around the corner, guns raised and firing. "Go!" I yelled, running forwards and over the soon to be dead men on the floor. There was a faint, 'good luck!', presumably from Max and Ibe looked too scared to talk.

When we parted ways, I stared to creep around the mansion, treading as lightly as possible.  Everyone I came into contact with was shot if the saw me. "(Y/n)!" I called out occasionally, hoping to get a response. No doubt she was locked in a room somewhere wondering what the hell was going on.

The bomb had recently gone off, so if she was asleep she isnt now, although I doubt she was in the first place. Not considering where we are.

Then I heard it. A faint call of my name, coming from not too far away. After another round of bullets was fired into a guys chest who dared to raise his gun at me, I followed the direction it came from. "(Y/n)! Where are you?" I shouted, sprinting down the carpeted corridors. There was a banging coming from behind one, along with the cry's of my name. I went up to it, placing the palm of my hand against the wood. "(Y/n), are you in there?"
"Ash! Yes, I'm in here." Her voice was muffled and slightly shaky, but at least she was alive. "Get under the bed and stay low. I'm going to bust the lock." I told her, my breathing fast and heartbeat high from adrenalin. "Okay." She replied, closely followed by some shuffling and  a 'ready.'

Confident that she that (Y/n) was safe, I reloaded my gun and pulled the trigger, aiming it directly at the lock. The door soon fell to the floor with a thud, revealing a dark room. (Y/n)'s shaking figure emerged from under the bed, instantly getting to her feet and running over to me. She wrapped her arms around my neck, burying her face into my shoulder while her hand ran through my hair. I winced, making her pull away. "Sorry, did I hurt you?" She murmured, her eyes flicking over my entire body. The short I wore had been torn, so there wasn't much use for it. (Y/n) ran her fingers along a cut on my upper arm, which had been the result of trying to shoot me. "You're hurt really bad..." She muttered, looking up at me but I couldn't meet here eyes.

(Y/n) POV

When Ash didn't look at me, I frowned and placed a hand on his cheek and gently turned his face to mine. Still, he didn't meet my eyes. "It's nothing." He muttered, pushing past me and too the bed. I let him go, watching as he sat down and reloaded the large gun he had in hand. "We have to get out before backup comes." He mumbled to himself, focusing on loading the gun. "But Shorter... are we going to leave him?" I asked gently, walking closer and placing a hand on Ash's shoulder.

"He's dead! I killed him!" Ash yelled suddenly, roughly slapping my hand from his shoulder and making me jump back. "You saw it too!" He looked at me, face showing nothing but pain.

"No, Ash. You didn't kill him. You merely set him free from his pain and suffering. Maybe one day, you'll understand why." I replied calmly, walking to the door of the room.
