(Y/n) POV

As I was waiting outside the hospital room, I heard some shouting from within but I couldn't make out what they were saying. I sat opposite the door, slumped on the floor against a wall. Yes, I got some strange looks from passer-by's, but who cares? My head was thrown back and against the wall as I held my knees in my chest. After what seemed like an eternity, Charlie eventually emerged. I caught a glimpse of Ash, but he was facing the other way.

"Okay. You ready to go?" Charlie sighed as he waited for me to stand up. "Yeah." I muttered, following the man down the corridors. At first I wasn't going to ask about Ash, but my curiosity got the best of me. I opened my mouth to say something but was cut off by Charlie. "You're going to ask about Ash, right?" My mouth closed and I nodded. Charlie sighed again, pushing his hands into the pockets of his suit trousers. "He sure is complicated. He is angry an upset about Skip, but that is understandable. The thing is, Ash doesn't seem to want to have anything to do with catching Golzine."
"How does he do it?" I whispered to myself, staring straight ahead as we walked. "Huh? What do you mean?"
"I mean, how does Ash keep his cool demeanour? Surely his past haunts him more than we know?"
"I'm sure it does. However, Ash isn't exactly the type to show when he is not doing so well." Charlie sighed, scratching the back of his neck. "Come on, we're meeting Eiji and Ibe at a café not too far from here." I nodded and followed Charlie outside as we walked to the café.

"We're pulling out for now after what happened. It's too bad, but we'll head back tonight after we go meet Max in prison." Charlie began to explain to Ibe and Eiji when we arrive. He was sat a little tensely with his hands clasped in front of him. "And what did you want to see me about?" Eiji asked, making Charlie hunch over more. "Yeah, about that."
"Is it about Ash?"
"Yes. He's planning to fight a mafia don with just one trump card." I spoke up, taking a sip from my (drink of choice). "He's going to end up dead." I muttered, making Eiji gasp. "That's why I need you and (Y/n) to convince Ash to give us his 'trump card'." I looked up at Charlie. "Ha. You think he is going to be easy to convince? Ash has been tricked ad lied to his entire life. It'd be easier to make a wall talk."

"What is this 'trump card'?" Ibe asked, completely ignoring what I had just said. "I'm not sure, but Golzine is persistently chasing after Ash. He must have something serious." Charlie started playing with his thumbs. "Oh ho ho! We have a new Sherlock Holmes over here!" I cheered , staring at Charlie. "Do you know how insane Dino is?" I stood up, slamming my hands on the table. Where this sudden boost of anger had come from, I have no idea. "That man is a monster that deserve nothing more than a bullet through his head. I do not care who's gun it come from, hell it could be mine if I see him." I spat, grabbing my drink and exiting the café, leaving Eiji, Ibe and Charlie behind to stare in confusion.

I ended up going back to the hospital. My legs carried me straight back to Ash's room. I didn't understand why, nor could I explain it but here I was. Knocking on the door and asking to come in. There was a faint 'come in' as I pushed open the door hesitantly. "What's wrong with you?" Ash asked immediately as I walked in. "You look like you're gonna burst into tears and murder someone at the same time." He muttered loud enough from me to hear, accompanied by a fake shudder. "Y'know what... I don't know why I came here. I just going to leave."
"Why? You just got here. It's clear that you have something to say, so say it." Ash positioned himself upright in the bed. I glanced back at him over my shoulder. "Come sit." He pats the bed next to him. I look at where he patted, then at him suspiciously. "Oh come on, I'm not going to kill you." He chuckled, leaning back against the raised pillow. I did as he asked and sat next to him on the bed. I too off my shoes and crossed my legs on the bed, facing the window and gazing out of it.

"Hey, (Y/n)." Ash said out of nowhere. I tilted my head at him with a hum. "You know something about my past, so tell me something about yours." I flinched at the question. "U-uh what do you wanna know?" I could hear my voice quiver slightly as I picked at my nails. "Well, parents? Siblings? Family? How did you end up an assassin? Y'know, something along those lines."
"I have no parents." I sighed, tapping my fingers against Ash's lower leg subconsciously. "I'm sorry."
"Nah, its okay. But if you really wanna know about them, I can tell you?" Ash tilted his head, now curious. "Go on."
"Well, when I was... eight? I think? I was effectively kidnapped from my parents. For two years, I was told they were dead and trained by two assassins. They weren't exactly the nicest people. They were verbally, physically..." I paused to take a deep breath. "...sexually abusive. Eventually I snapped and attempted to kill them. It didn't work and as a punishment, they forced me to kill my own parents. I was forced to shoot them in the forehead while they begged me not too. The memory of my mothers terrified face still haunts my dreams. Where as my father didn't even look at me. He said to 'make it quick', and I did." I sighed shakily, a few warm tears slipping down my face. I looked at Ash, who just stared at me with a look of shock and horror painted on his face, and smiled weakly. "Oh haha, look I'm crying now." I sniffed, whipping away the stray tears.

"I'm sorry for asking." Ash muttered, using his thumb to brush away a couple tears. I lent into his hand and closed my eyes without thinking. "Its okay. How would you know? Anyways, the past is in the past... mostly." Ash continued to rub my cheek gently, slowly lowering my head to his lap. "Mostly?" He whispered as he positioned my head into a certain place so that my neck wouldn't hurt when I got up. I sigh softly, nuzzling into his lap. "Dino is a bastard I will never forgive." I mumbled loud enough for Ash to hear. He almost instantly understood and clenched the hand that wasn't caressing my face. "He did that to you?" He growled, but didn't get a response as I was already asleep. Ash smiled a little, pulling the cover over my sleeping form.
