Heyyy wonderful person who is reading this! Before we start, I would just like to say that this fanfic will (most likely) go to the end of the ANIME not the MANGA as at the time I am writing this, I haven't read the manga. So pls no spoilers 😅
There will be mentions of violence, swearing, gore, fighting, rape, suicide etc, like the show. So please, if you are not comfortable reading about those topics, please do not read this fanfic.

I do NOT own Banana Fish or any of the characters, nor do I own you! I do, however, own the story (which will be based on follow the plot of the anime).

Anyways, I hope you enjoy and lets get into it!

(Y/n) POV

America. Up until this exact point in my life, I had nothing against the country. However, when you were forced to leave everything behind and dragged there by the two people who employed you, it isn't quite so nice. Well, the food isn't all that bad, apart from the fact it tastes artificial.

The entire 8-hour flight was hell to say the least. I was squeezed between a fat man and an overly excited women who would. not. shut. up. About 5 hours in, she fell asleep, and began to snore loudly, but that was more tollerable than her rambling about how much she missed New York.

The hotel I stayed the a single night in was, surprisingly, welcomed by me. Sure you could feel the springs thorough the mattress and spiders crawled the ceiling freely, but I've slept in worse places. Luckily for me, my employers gave me my own room. Not that I'd be sleeping much tonight... why not explore New York City during the night? Get a feel for my surroundings? Besides, there is no point in planning a clean assassination without knowing where you are.  Yeah, there would more than likely be numerous gangs with guns but I'd be fine.

As night fell over the city, I waved a goodnight to my employers. Before our flight to New York City, I had explained to Mr and Mrs. Heights that I expected time to 'get to know the city' prior to any attempted assassinations. They had understood, giving me two weeks to plan.

The air was surprisingly warm still, the faint stench of cigarette smoke floated about. Very few people wondered around the darkened streets on the outskirts, many of them high, drunk or both. It was fairly peaceful. Until a tall man, perhaps in his forties approached me, that is.

"What's a pretty young lady like you wondering around at night, by yourself? Its dangerous y'know?" He chuckled, slowly backing me up against a wall and boxing me in with his arms. A smirk crawled its way onto my lips as I made eye contact with the man, tilting my head slightly. "Dangerous for whom, may I ask. For you, or me?" A rough hand lifted my chin slightly as something cold and smooth stroked my cheek. "Oh?"

A chuckled escaped my lips, as my arms grabbed the mans' arm and yanking him towards me, while my legs took his from beneath him. I quickly slipped to the side, allowing the man to smash into the brick wall. Before he could retaliate, I had seized the hand with the blade in and brought it down on my knee as hard as I could. The man yelped in pain as a loud crack echoed around the back alley we had somehow managed to get into. The knife clattered to he floor by my feet. It was a simply flip knife with a blade about 4 inches, had a nice grip too.

"I might take this, if you don't mind." I smiled sweetly at the cowering man as I flipped the knife around between my fingers. "W-who are you?!" He whimpered between pain-filled gasps, holding his broken wrist close to him protectively. "Well Mr. I'm-Going-To-Murder-A-Girl-On-The-Streets, you can call me Leopard, like most peole who know me. Or, y'know, call me (Y/n). Whatever floats your tiny, tiny boat." I wink with a playful smirk. "Bye-bye now~" I sung, turning around. This time it was my turn to gasp. I bumped straight into a tall boy, probably around my age with platinum blonde hair and eyes hidden by sunglasses.

"Who are you?" He demanded, producing a knife from his jacket pocket. "I could ask you the same question." I muttered with a sigh, slightly annoyed. "Oh, and don't think I haven't noticed the revolver in your waistband or the knife in your left hand." The boy didn't budge, but I swear I heard a slightly sharper intake of breath. I sighed heavily and dropped the flip knife, my hand went behind my head in a care free manor. "I'm (Y/n). And you, mystery man?"
"Ash. And you are in my territory." Ash growled.
"Your territory? Was I supposed to know that? Hell, I only stepped foot in this country for the first time two hours ago. And two people have already tried to kill me."
"Yeah, you're obviously foreign. That accent is terrible." My (E/c) eye rolled in my head. He was smart, I thought my fake accent was pretty good...
"Well I guess you haven't tried to kill me yet, but I'm assuming you want to." I sighed, reverting back to my normal voice.

"Boss!" Another voice called from the entrance to the alleyway. The blond guy lifted his right hand to the other person, signalling him not to come closer. "Boss? Uh, we found the guys you were looking for. Two of them got away, but the third is at the hideout." He muttered. Ash sighed, turning just his head to the man. "Okay. Good work, I'll be back in an hour or so. Tell Shorter that he can start questioning them if he wants." The tall blonde haired man, took off his sunglasses revealing his jade-coloured eyes.

"Boss? Oh~ I get it now! I've heard about you, Lynx." I smirked, leaning against the brick wall beside me. Ash maintained steady eye contact that to any other person would have been terrifying, but I simply felt my smirk grow. I had found my target extremely quickly.

This could be interresting...

Heyyy! So, I decided to put my other ongoing fanfic (Its Always Been You) on hold while I write this. To be honest, I haven't been feeling motived at continue that fic so I'm writing this one! And, having just finished watching Banana Fish, I thought this would be fun and I had an idea I kinda just had to get down. 😅
