(Y/n)'s POV

Me and Ash talked for what seemed like forever, but was only about an hour. Any concerns, or worries we had over the past few months came tumbling out in one go, as if a stopper had been pulled and the reservoir behind it had bust through. There was tears from both of us. We ended up falling backwards onto the bed, curling up together as we talked. I told him about the dream, or rather nightmare, I'd had. He has such a look of concern, confusion and guilt that I almost felt bad. He asked me why I dreamt that. I replied that I didn't know. We left that conversation there.

After some time, we got up and walked back into the kitchen, hand in hand. Everyone was now dressed, Sing and Eiji sat at the island, watching Shorter cook. Shorter had Eiji's apron on. It was one Ash bought him as a joke, but he ended up absolutely loving. It was pink, with white polka dots. The hem was adorned with pink frills, and the pockets on the front had the same detail. Under it, Shorter wore a grey tank top and some sweatpants. Eiji's head did not even turn when we entered and greeted them.

"So, Eiji.." Ash started, letting go of my hand and placing himself in front of Eiji's eyes. "When do you plan on returning to Japan?" Eiji looked slightly taken aback by the sudden interruption to his view. He shook his head, taking another sip of his tea before answering. "I'm not sure yet, in a month or so hopefully. I'd like to go back before the holidays start." He swirled the liquid round in his cup, seemingly lost in his own thoughts. "Does your family still have that spare room?"
"My grandmother moved into that room a few months ago... but if you're wanting to come i'm sure she wouldn't mind you staying in her house." Eiji paused for a moment. He suddenly slammed the cup down onto the island, quickly rising to his feet and grabbing Ash's shoulders excitedly. "You've decided to come to Japan?! Oh, you're going to love it! My family are so excited to meet you!" He leapt over towards me, grasping me into a tight hug before rushing off to, 'pass on the good news.'

Sing sat in shocked silence, staring blankly at the front door. I went to sit next to him, but before I reached him, he was on his feet and making out the door. It dully thudded behind him. Shorter turned from what he was doing, placing a plate of steaming food onto the island before us. "Someone should go after him." He stated bluntly, untying the apron and laying it over the back of a chair. I sighed, and started heading towards the door. "I'll be back soonish... hopefully." I muttered tugging on a pair of shoes. "Do you know where he's gone?" Shorter questioned, leaning his forearms on the table. "I've got a good idea. I'll call you later." And with that, I too slipped out the door.

Sing was exactly where I thought he'd be. Canal Street subway station, his new place of refuge. What he saw in this hole in the ground, I do not know. Tucked away in a corner, he was curled up with headphones in, dutifully ignoring the world. I strode over,  sitting down next to him. He looked at me without turning his head, cranking up the volume of his music. I sighed, gently removing the headphones from his ears. He muttered something, hastily standing up and trying to make away from me, and towards the open door of the train that had just pulled in. I quickly followed him, boarding the subway and grabbing his wrist before he could run off. "Get the fuck off me." He spat, pulling against my grip. "What is the matter, Sing?" I asked, standing closer to him. I didn't let go of his wrist.

He turned to face me, those dark eyes swirled with so many emotions I couldn't differentiate one from another. One, however, was strikingly clear. A look of pain ruled over everything else, but presented itself as anger, hatred, fear. Sing swallowed, shifting his feet as the carriage beneath us moved along the tracks.

"When were you, Ash and Eiji planning on telling me about this plan to move to Japan?" He finally said, eyes welling as he looked towards his feet. "Why are you leaving me behind?" I let go of his wrist, pulling the young man into an embrace. "We're not moving to Japan." I muttered, holding him close to me. "We're going to visit, go on holiday. Eiji was going to ask you too, but didn't think you'd want to. Besides, it was just an idea he came up with sometime ago." Sing pulled away from me, wiping his nose on his sleeve. "So you're not just upping and leaving me?" He snivelled, eyes puffy and red. "No. We'd never do that. I can ask Eiji if there's space for one more, if you'd like?" Sing's eyes lit up at the idea. He gazed up at me as if I'd told him the best news ever. "What about Shorter..?" He asked, eyes dampening again. I chuckled softly, "Eiji can't say no to Shorter... or me for that matter." I winked, and he laughed.

"Now...  how about some pancakes? Don't tell Shorter... he spent ages on breakfast."

We got off at the next stop, and wandered round until we found somewhere decent to eat.
