Song: Art Is Dead
By: Bo Burnham
(Y/n) POV
A day had passed since Ash had disappeared. I knew he would be fine, but the fact that he had just left without saying anything pissed me off as well as worried me. The sun was setting outside. As I pulled the curtains shut, there was a click from the front door. I knew that Ash's guys had left, so it was just me and Eiji in the apartment. Quietly picking up the thing closest to me that I could use as a weapon, I moved towards the door. Luckily, it was just Ash.
"Where the hell have you been?!" I said loudly, dropping my weapon, which was a rather blunt knife. Ash looked up at me blankly. "Out." He replied, taking off his shoes and throwing them to the side. "Ash, you've been missing for a day. And you didn't tell me where you went. I was worried!" I yell, my voice steadily getting louder. "Why does it matter that I didn't tell you where I went? I'm not obliged to tell you everything." He sighed, slipping off his jacket and sitting down on the sofa. "Why is there blood on your shirt?" I asked, gesturing towards Ash's white top that was dotted with drying blood. "Doesn't matter."
"Ash, I heard about what you did. I know it was you, only you could shoot someone so precisely between the eyes! I didn't take you for someone who'd shoot an unresisting person."
"Who do you thin I am? I told you, I'm a murderer." Ash replied calmly, his face void of emotion. "They shot my friends to save themselves. They're paying for what they did."
"Not everyone is gifted with a talent like you, Ash." I looked down, balling my fists in an attempt to stop myself from crying. "A talent? For what, killing?" He said, leaning closer to me with an expression I had never seen before. "Why do you keep saying that? You're not like other people. Ash, you're smart, funny, beautiful and I don't know what I'd be doing if I hadn't of met you. But none of that matters. Look, I don't have any talents. I am not smart. I'm not funny or beautiful, but of well. You just don't get how ungifted people feel." When I had finished, I turned on my heel to leave, a stream of angry and pained tears falling from my eyes. "I've had it with you!" Ash suddenly yelled, making me stop dead in my tracks. "If I hadn't of killed those people, they would be running free and killing us! It's not about reasoning. Power is everything! That's the world I live in. What would you know about it?!" When the shouting had stopped, I took one look over my shoulder.
"You're a fool, Ash." I stuttered, chocking on my own tears as left, picking up a gun as I did. "(Y/n), wait!" I hear Eiji call, but I ignored him and slammed the front door shut.
Eiji POV
From my room, I had heard the whole ordeal. By the time I got there, (Y/n) was leaving and Ash appeared besides himself. "Damn it!" He yelled, picking up a nearby vase and throwing it at the door. I flinched as it shattered, water, pot and flowers all fell to the floor in a heap. "Ash. Ash!" I called, walking over to him and seizing his arms to prevent another vase from being thrown. "Hey! What was all that about?" I asked as gently as I could, sitting Ash back down on the sofa. "I needed to make (Y/n) hate me." He groaned, holding his head in his hands. "I'm such an idiot." Ash sighed, not crying but looking as if he was going to. "Why? Why'd you need her to hate you?" I asked softly, rubbing a hand up and down his back. "Because she needs to go to Japan with you. It's not safe here with me. That doesn't mean I don't want her here, because I do. I just want her to be safe."
"No, I get that. You love her, don't you?" As nodded reluctantly, a muffled sob escaping. "Well, I can tell you that (Y/n) loves you, and that she isn't gone forever."
"Whatever, I'm going to bed." Ash said suddenly, pulling away from me an turning his back so that I couldn't see his face. "Okay, good night!" I called after him, watching as he left before letting out a sigh. I knew (Y/n) would be fine for the night on her own, though I'm pretty sure neither Ash or (Y/n) would be sleeping.
(Y/n) POV
I spent the night wandering around New York aimlessly, walking along the bank of the Hudson river. It was cold and I regretted not grabbing a coat on my way out, but I wasn't going back to get one now. After walking around for much longer that I ha realised, I found my way to the New York Public Library. The sun had just started to rise, so I simply waited outside for the Library to open.
"Um... excuse me miss?" A young woman with long blonde hair shook me gently, pulling me out of my dream. "Are you alright?" She asked worriedly, clutching her armful of book. "Oh, yeah. I was just waiting to the library to open." I replied, standing up an stretching my aching body. "Oh! Well, you're in luck. I'm a librarian who is opening up today! Come." She smiled, climbing the rest of the stairs and unlocking the great wooden doors. "Thank you." I replied with my own smile, wandering into the huge library and looking around with awe. "First time in here?" The lady asked, also looking around. I nodded, not able to process words. I managed to figure out where the (favourite genre) book were, and walked over to them.
I picked up a book that looked interesting, sat down in a quite corner where I was hidden from most people.
~~~
I really wanna go to that library 😩
If any of you have been, what is it like?!
Anyways,
Have a great day/night,
