Song: Wolf In Sheep's Clothing
By: Set It Off
(Y/n) POV
I finished my book quite quickly, closing it with a satisfying snap. The library had slowly filled up, people wandered around book shelves while others sat scattered about on the many long tables in the centre. I stood up with a sigh, putting the book I had finished back where I found it. The corner I was sat in was much to comfortable, I could have stayed there for quite a while longer, but I didn't.
I decided to take a walk outside of the grand building. It was my first time here, but I had already memorised the area I had been in. An old habit, not one I would be able to get rid of any time soon. Bouncing down the stone stairs, I ignored everyone else as I made my way to the door that lead out. Just as I reached for the handle, it swung open before I could open it myself. "(Y/n)!" My head snapped up at none other than Eiji's voice. "Uh... hi?" I replied, letting my hands sink deeper into the pockets of my jacket. "Where have you been? We were so worried!" He stressed, forcing me into a hug which was pretty one sided. "We?" I questioned, pulling away from him. I didn't mean to come across as cold, but I just wasn't in the mood for friendly interactions. "Yeah, me and Ash." Eiji's smile faltered a little as he gestured behind him, to where an uncomfortable looking Ash stood, hands in the pockets of his denim jacket. "Oh." I sighed, stepping past them and continuing on my way. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Eiji shove Ash to follow me, which he did reluctantly.
I just kept walking, Ash just kept following. Eventually, I stopped at a place overlooking the river and New York City. I leant on the railing, watching from afar as people moved on quickly with their fast lives, as the sun glittered on the surface of the water, and how Ash slowly joined me. It was silent for a while, neither of us said a word. "Why did you follow me?" I asked eventually, not being able to endure the silence any longer. "Eiji told me to apologise. I guess he was right so... I'm sorry."
"Oh ho? The great Ash Lynx apologising? To me? I never thought I'd see that day!" I chuckled stiffly, sarcasm dripping from my tone. "I mean it." Ash replied, letting his arms drop over the railings. "I know. But I said some stuff to push you, so I guess I should say sorry too."
"Some of the things you said weren't true." Ash continued, slowly edging closer to my side. "Mhm. Like what?"
"Well... you said that you aren't beautiful, smart or funny. Which is all a load of shit. You are all of those things."
"Don't try and sweet talk yourself back into my good books." I warned, lolling my head to look at him. What I saw made me frown. Ash looked really down, but like he was trying his best. "That wasn't my intention." He muttered, looking away.
I sighed, stepping closer to Ash and gently jabbing him in the ribs with my elbow. "I know that... but you're sleeping on the sofa tonight." I chuckled when Ash looked at me with an eyeroll. "So I'm forgiven?" He asked, sliding an arm around my shoulders and pulling me close before I had the chance to escape. My face was pressed into Ash's chest, leaving me to murmur a reply against the fabric of his shirt. Truth be told, I had missed him a little, not that I'd ever say that to his face.
"Ahh! So you two have had you're little 'kiss-and-make-up'?" A familiar voice made me jerk away from Ash, quickly glancing from where it came from. Eiji was stood there, two polaroid pictures in his hand. From where I was stood, I could feel the daggers that Ash was staring at Eiji. "Sorry!" The sweet Japanese boy apologised with a grin to Ash, walking over and handing us one of the pictures each. "The background was just too beautiful, and you two looked so cute in front of it!" He squealed, jumping back just in time to avoid my hand slapping his face. I must say, the picture really was amazing. They where still developing. but from what I could see so far, it had captured the sunset on the water behind a darkened silhouette of me and Ash. The New York skyline was also there, completing the photo. "Thanks Eiji." I smiled, holding the small piece of paper away from the fabric of my clothing. "As for the 'Kiss-and-make-up', no kiss and he is sleeping on the sofa." I smirked, lightly punching Ash's chest and walking back towards the apartment.
Ash just sighed in defeat with a shrug, soon following me with a happy looking Eiji close behind.
