(Y/n)'s POV

Next thing I knew, Ash had grabbed my hand and we were chasing after the truck. Nice of them to wait. Shorter was leaning out of the back with his arm extended. I was running at a flat out sprint, catching up with the truck. Ash quickly grabbed Shorter's hand, flinging himself into the back of the truck. "(Y/n)!" He called, now leaning out himself to pull me up. With a final step, my fingers wrapped around Ash's wrist. In one swift movement, I was hurled onto the truck, landing on top of Ash.

We lay like that, panting and catching our breath. "Step on it, old man!" Ash yelled out of nowhere, telling Max that we were on.

We drove way over the speed limit for days, occasionally stopping for food, water and fuel. Finally, we came to a stop where our destination was supposed to be. I got out instantly, suddenly feeling nauseous now that we'd stopped. "That's odd. It should be around here somewhere..." Max muttered, looking at a map on his phone. I slowly got up from where I was crouched and joined them leaning against the truck. I stood in front of Ash, who was in the passenger seat with the door open. He draped his arm around over my shoulders, resting his chin on my head. "Are you okay now?" He mumbled into my hair. I nodded in response. "I bet you took a wrong turn." Shorter sighed, scratching the back of his neck. "I'm sick of riding in this truck. My ass is hard as a rock."
"You think you're sick of it? Plus, we didn't need to know that." I chuckled, rubbing my temples.

"True, we've been in it for almost a week." Eiji sighed, falling onto the floor with a groan. "I'm hungry." I muttered as my stomach grumbles in agreement. I lean into Ash, but am roughly pushed away when he hears something. "Who's there?" He shouted into the darkness, producing a gun from his waistband. An average height guy emerged from the trees, a torch in his hand. "You tell me. Who are you guys?" He asked in a surprised voice. Max ran towards the man, Ash slowly walking after him. "Can you tell us how to get to Los Angeles?" He said, stopping in front of the bewildered guy. "What? You're in Los Angeles." He muttered, looking at us as if we'd gone mad. "We are?" Max and Ash said in the same time.

I walked forwards, taking Ash's hand and running forwards. We were met by a cliff overlooking Los Angeles. "What a view!" I gasped excitedly, tugging at Ash's hand. He simply nodded in agreement. "It's beautiful!" I smiled up at Ash. "You're acting like and over-excited puppy... do it again." 
"Do what again?"
"Smile at me. Do it again." I did as he said, smiling brightly up and him. I was met with a pair of lips coming into contact with mine. When He pulled away, there was over exaggerated gagging from Eiji, Shorter and even Max. Even though the older man had a pleased expression on his face.

"Piss off." I rolled my eyes at them, turning back to Ash and pecking him on the cheek.
