Song: Somebody Is Watching Me
By: Rockwell

(Y/n) POV

We stayed like that for a while, Ash alseep in my arms while I kept watch, just in case. He would occasionally stir and mutter some incoherent words, but I simply sushed him gently, lulling him back to sleep. After a bit, he woke up fully, stretching up with a yawn. I smiled softly at him, watching as Ash blinked hard a few times. "Feeling better?" I asked, reaching up to ruffle his hair. "Mhm, my vision is much better now." He replied, standing up and stretching out his legs. "Ready to go back?" Ash hummed in response, kicking out what was left of the small fire with his shoe.

We made our way back around the corner, finding Sing standing in a doorway, talking to some guys. A mixture of his and Ash's. As we approched, I felt Ash stiffen and saw his jaw tighten. "Ash-" I started, squeezing his hand gently. "You idiots! Why are you all gathered in one place?" He yelled at them, grip tightening on my hand. "Locking ourselves up in these numbers underground is suicidal!" Ash seethed as I tried to free my hand from his grip, worried of him breaking something. Luckily, he released my hand, glancing back appologetically. "They'll never find us here." Sing said back, his voice raised slightly. "Anybody can figuire out that Manhatten is a maze of tunnels. We've got to get out, now!" Ash continued to shout at Sing, who just stood there in shock. "Arm yourselves with all you've got!" Ash ordered everyone, every muscle in his body tense with anxiety.

I watched as he quickly made his way towards a large wooden box, filled with differnent fire arms. Everyone else followed suit, collecting their own weapon and plently of bullets. Ash beckoned me over, tossing me a new revolver once I was close enough. "That other one malfunctioned, right?" He said, making his way back into the train to be out of the way.

"Hurry, we don't have time!" He shouted again, stressing even more than before. I followed him into the train, just in time to catch Ash as he keeled over, face white as a sheet. "Ash?!" I yelped quietly, holding him against myslef until he pulled away and stood up straight. "Are you okay? What's wrong? Be honest with me, Ash." I pleaded, hand on his cheek, the drifting to his forehead to check his temperature. "I'm just a little faint. The food at the old man's mansion was like dog barf."  Ash muttered weakly, clinging onto a metal railing. "You're sick, Ash. Don't try and deny it, I know you are." I said gently, rubbing his cheek tenderly. "What happened." I asked him, watching as he leant into my hand a little. "I couldn't eat anything for about a month. I lived off water and IV injections." He sighed, eyes slightly closed. "Ash-"
"Don't worry. It takes more than that to run me down." He reassured me, or tried to. I was worried out of  my mind. I needed to protect him, even more so than usual.

"I'm sorry." Ash mumbled, finally removing his hand from the metal bar. Instead, his hand rested on my cheek, a rough thumb brushing over the skin. A tiny, but sincere smile gracing his lips. I returned it, placing my hand over his. "Don't appologise. I'm gonna bet you out of here. Even if it's the last bloody thing I do." I said with confidence I didn't feel, turning on my heel and marching away.

That's when the gunfire started, fast rounds of bullets echoing around. "They're here!" Some guy yelled with fear, soon getting shot down. I was yanked backwards by the collar of my shirt, pulled inside just in time to avoid a round of bullets. Ash held me close to his chest as he sat on his heels, peering cautiously around the corner. "Thanks." I muttered quietly, but Ash was too focused to reply.

I quuckly stood up, gun in hand as I ran through the carraiges of the subway, shooting at every window. "(Y/n)?!" I heard Ash yell between shots, but I just kept running. "Cain, North sewer. Lead the way." I shouted back upon reaching the end, jumping off effortlessly. "Gotcha." Cain said in reply, jumping down after me and running, followed by is guys, Sing, some of Ash's guys, and Ash himself.

We all ran as a group, me slowing down to let Cain take the lead. I fell in step with Ash just behind Cain, who had clocked onto what I was doing. "Here we are." Cain called back to us as we sprinted along a stone pathway, a river of water and othe things below us. "If we make it out there, it's the East River." He explained, an archway coming into veiw. "Oi, watch out!" Ash yelled, several people apprearing out of nowhere and shooting rapidly at us. I slid to the floor behind the part where the archway connetcted onto the floor, Ash next to me, panting heavily. I poked my head around the corner, shooting one unlucky guy in the forehead, and another the temple. Sing, Lao and some other guy had jumped straight into the water after a tear gas canister was thrown at them. I was tempted to throw one straight back, but all the enemies were wearing goggles and gasmasks, so it wouldn't have done much.

"Hey, guys this way!" Cain called, a manhole open of the floor by his feet. Ash made a dive for it, closely followed by me as we all scampered away from the gunshots. "Cain, where are we?" Ash asked, his voice echoing around the large tunnel. "No idea. I've never been in here before." He replied, splashing through thin layer of water beneath our feet. "Just keep moving." I muttered, atking the chance to reload my gun.

Voices echoed from the other end of the tunnel, and everyone stopped moving. "Damn, their persistent!" Bones cursed from behind me. I gritted my teeth, glancing over at Ash. He wan't well enough to be doing this. "I'll lead them to another passage. You guys run as far away as you can." He said, cocking his gun and stepping forward. "I think the fuck not." I growled, stepping forwards quickly and shoving Ash back into Cain. "Cain, look after Ash for me. Don't let him go!" I shouted over my shoulder, running at a full sprint away from the group. "(Y/n)! (Y/n), wait!" Ash screamed behind me, begging me to stop and come back. I just bit my lip and ignored him, knowing it was better me than him."(Y/n), come back! Come back!" Ash yelled frantically as Cain held him back, and I moved swiftly away.

"Sorry Ash, you know I can't do that." I muttered under my breath, cocking my gun, finger hovering over thr trigger.

~Halloween Special~

It was late October, colourful leaves littered the ground and crunched beneath my feet. It was also one of the worst times of year, especially for Ash. Pumpkins, one of his worst fear, were everywhere. Every corner he walked around, there was a carved pumkin sat on the doorstep of every house on every street he walked down. However this year, he had me to protect me from the murderous orange vegetables.

As we walked along the streets of Manhatten, making our way back to the appartment, it was my job to make sure Ash didn't see any pumpkins. So, this year I had decided to blindfold him. "Hey, (Y/n)? What's with the blindfold?" Ash whined, clinging to my arm as I lead him down the streets carefully."Well, it's late at night. There are trick-or-treaters about, and a hell of a lot of pumpkins." I explained, chuckling slightly as his grip tighted at the mention of pumpkins. "It's okay though, coz I'm here. Aren't I? I'll fight off any pumkins that come too close!" I laughed, waving around the umbrella we had brought with us as if it were a sword. "Don't laugh at me." Ash pouted, slowling his walking pace down a little.

"I would never do such a thing!" I replied, gasping with false shock at the accusation. "You did! You were laughing at me, (Y/n)!" Ash whined again, stopping completely as he hung his head. "Oh no, darling. I didn't mean to hurt you're feelings! Please don't make me sleep on the sofa..." I muttered, reaching up to place a soft kiss against his cheek.

"Never. You know I can't sleep without you next to me, c'mon now (Y/n)!" Ash chuckled back, hand cupping my face as he kissed me back, this time on the lips. "Now, my love, let's go home. I'll cook you something to eat, what do you fancy?" Ash smiled, letting me lead the way home. "Hmm.... pumkin pie sounds pretty good right n- ow!" I yelped as Ash slapped my arm lightly. "Okay, okay! I get it. For real though, (f/f) sounds great."
"Okay, (f/f) it is then!" I beamed up at Ash, even though he was blindfolded. He was also smiling happily, both of us grinning like idiots as we walked home together, hand in hand.

"Happy Halloween, Aslan!"
"Happy Halloween, (Y/n)."
