I couldn't not believe that she'd even show up. Now the only thing I wanted was for her to live. "Y/n, do you know who this is?" Buck asked me. I hated that I had to say the answer.
"Unfortunately yes." I said to him.
"She's only saying that because of what I did to her." She said while rolling her eyes.
"More of what you haven't done." I said to her in a raised voice. I could tell that Buck was confused.
"Y/n, who is she?" Buck asked me, he could tell from my body language that I was angered.
"I'm her mother. As much as she wishes I wasn't. Call me Winona. Now, who are you?" She said to Buck. She had no right to talk to him like that.
"I'm Evan but most people call me Buck. I'm her fiancé." Buck said, she stuck her hand out and unfortunately for me, he shook it.
"Now, I'm only here to make amends. So please let me in." She said to me, I'd never seen her like this. But yet again the last time I saw her I was 5.
"Fine. But make it quick." I said before letting her in. She walked over to the dining table.
"I really wished I didn't answer the door now." He said to me in a whisper.
"You didn't know it was her. But hopefully she won't stay long." I said to him in a whisper. We both than sat across from her.
"Would you like me to leave?" Buck asked me.
"No stay. Please." I said to him. He then put a comforting arm around me.
"So how long have you both been together?" Winona asked me, this isn't what she was here for.
"We've been together for over a year now but we've been engaged for a few months." Buck said to her with a smile.
"Now, why are you really here. You've had all this time to make amends and you choose to do it now." I said to her. I just wanted her to leave. I couldn't stand her being here.
"Well I wanted to tell you why I really did give you to your father." She said to me, that wasn't going to be the only thing.
"I can tell there's a but coming along." I said to her, I grabbed Buck's hand and held it.
"There is, but I feel like I can't be happy with my family until I talk with you. I'm not expecting you to call me when something happens, or expecting an apology. I just want to tell the truth that I've been carrying around for over 2 decades." She said to me.
"Well your right. You won't get any of that put. The only thing you'll get is a weight lifted." I said to her.
"Could I get you some coffee?" Buck asked her, I could tell this was awkward for him. But I know that he wanted to be here for moral support.
"That would be lovely thank you." She said to him with a smile. Buck then stood up and went to get some coffee. "You did well for yourself. And you look good as well." She said to me when he'd gone.
"Well I wouldn't have cared if you didn't like him." I said to her, she sighed.
"What are you doing for a job?" She asked me, I mean I get she wanted to learn about me. But I just wanted this to be so over with.
"I'm a firefighter and before you ask he's also a firefighter." I said to her. "So I have half-siblings?" I asked her wanting to know.
