Mako Shiba

Kenji's adoptive grandfather who raised him from infancy to become a samurai warrior. he is a kind and gentle soul, but strict when it comes to training. he gets killed off in the first episode, and his death is reason why Kenji set on his journey to become a samurai in the first place.

Nobuharu "Nobu" Shiba

 Mako's younger brother and Kenji's uncle, sensei Nobu runs a karate dojo in stone canyon specializing in the art of samurai combat that comes with a hidden underground headquarters for the rangers. he serves as the team's mentor, but also has an over-the-top and quirky sense of humor. kinda like Uncle Iroh from Avatar the last airbender: funny, but also incredibly wise. he built the rangers's weapons, vehicles, and Zords. being a sensei of the Shiba clan, he is a master of the elemental power symbols which is what he used to forge the ranger powers and arsenal using a fusion of magic and technology (technomagic?)

Farkus "Bulk" Bulkmeier

bulk from mighty morphin' power rangers fame returns as the owner of his own sushi restaurant known as "Bulk's sushi spot" where the rangers hang out at. he acts as a father figure to his best friend skull's son spike. he also acts as kind of a secondary mentor to the rangers, giving them advice whenever they've given up hope.

Hikari "Kari" Shiba (Red Ranger II) 

Kenji's cousin who will be important later in the story. no spoilers!
