Our episode opens up with the rangers watching a sparring match between Oscar and Ava. sensei makes the observation that Ava is very tough and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty, admiring how she manages to best Oscar with no problem. Nigel tells them that he isn't surprised since Oscar is a clumsy buffoon. Oscar is knocked on his rear and Ava apologizes and helps him back up and even dusts the dirt off him, with Sadie making the observation that Ava obviously has a soft spot for her since the two were close childhood friends. Kenji tells them that Oscar is lucky since she's not as nice towards the rest of them, going as far as to say as that she's a social outcast. Ava gives them the mean look the others cowering in fear while Oscar tries to calm Ava down before telling them that she doesn't like it when people talk about her behind her back and just to leave her alone. after that, we cut to Akuma palace where lord Ashura orders Octomancer to summon a monster to gather more human misery. Octomancer then summons Badmouth, a monster capable of causing destruction with just his words. after that, we cut to the dojo where we see Ava sitting outside the dojo playing a wooden flute. Oscar then overhears her music and admires her skills, as he never knew she played flute before. Ava then tells him that she learned it from her sister. Oscar then tells her that he's sorry for her loss and that the others don't mean what they say and that they all love her. Ava tells him it's okay, as their words never bothered her anyway. Oscar is touched by this and tells her that he had no idea however this touching moment is interrupted by another gap sensor going off before we cut to badmouth wreaking havoc on stone canyon with his destructive insults. the samurai rangers arrive to confront badmouth only to be blasted back by his insults: he calls Oscar a class clown, Nigel a spoiled rich kid, Sadie a weeb, and Kenji that he's been living a lie his entire life. Ava then gets angry and goes after the monster by herself, with the monster keeps throwing insults at her however she isn't affected much to the surprise of everybody. we then cut to the dojo where sensei is surprised to hear that a monster with such a dangerous vocabulary is on the loose. Kenji then tells sensei that Ava was immune to the monster's insults followed by Oscar asking how she did it. Ava then explains that as a child she was bullied a lot in school but her big sister taught her not to be bothered by their insults by telling her that "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me". the others are touched by this and start to hug each other. however this tender moment is interrupted by the gap sensor going off and sensei telling them that the monster is attacking his favorite sushi restaurant. we then cut to badmouth walking into Bulk's sushi spot and attacks Bulk and Spike with the insult "this place's seafood is so raw that it's still swimming on the plate" causing Bulk and Spike to both be propelled out the window. the monster then walks out the doors only for the rangers to show up and morph to fight the monster who blasts Nigel with the insult "slave to your parents" (cue shinkenger episode 6 fight). after the rangers defeat the monster, Nocturna shows up to play her shamisen to make it grow. the rangers then summon their origami zords (cue shinkenger episode 6 megazord fight) and then finish off the monster with the samurai beetle megazord. after the monster is destroyed, we cut to the dojo where Ava apologizes to everybody for being so rude to them and our episode ends with Oscar and Ava kissing.
