Our episode opens up with a recap of what happened last episode before we cut to the present where sensei Nobu bursts into tears looking at an old family photo of young Kenji, grandpa Mako, and Nobu himself while telling himself that he failed his brother's promise to protect Kenji and that he's a terrible uncle and sensei, only for the other rangers to tell Nobu that he is a great sensei that taught them all so much and that they would not be samurai rangers without him and promise him that they'll find Kenji. after that, we cut to Akuma palace where lord Ashura scolds Bloodragon for not being able to take down the red ranger. he then bows down and apologizes as he would've had the pleasure of destroying the last head of the Shiba clan if it weren't for that half-breed offspring of his sticking his nose where it doesn't belong followed by lord Ashura giving him one more chance and tells him not to screw up. we then cut back to the dojo where Sadie finds a note and informs the others. she opens up revealing it to be written in kanji and the others ask her what it says as she's the Japanese expert here. Sadie then tells them that it says "Dear friends, I am leaving stone canyon to return to japan, don't feel sad I am doing this for your own safety. the Akuma want me which is why they started terrorizing stone canyon in the first place. this is all my fault, if i never washed up on your shores this would have never happened and i would've never put you guys and your country in danger which is why we have to say goodbye, love Kenji." Sadie then begins tearing up and Ava rolls her eyes and says that he does have a point, everything was happy and normal until Kenji came into their lives. Oscar tells Ava to be more sensitive, as Sadie really likes Kenji. right on cue, we cut to Kenji sitting down at Bulk's sushi spot and orders the sushi sampler as well as telling Spike that this is his last day in stone canyon as he's moving back to japan and that he wants to have one last meal in stone canyon before he leaves because he's gonna miss this city. Kenji then starts stuffing his face with sushi before we cut to the netherworld where we see Deker slashing his way through marauders while Nocturna watches from the window of the castle and admires his vengeful and prideful personality, all the while Bloodragon becomes suspicious of the fact that she's in love with him, which makes him puke. Nocturna then tells him that this feeling is coming from her human half, which Bloodragon finds disgusting and says "No thank you, I'm out of here" before leaving. after that, we cut to the dojo where sensei asks the rangers where Sadie is, and Ava thinks she might've gone after Kenji. we then cut back to Kenji arriving at the seaport ticket in hand while having flashbacks to the time he first washed up on the shores of stone canyon and met his teammates. Sadie then shows up and begs for Kenji not to go, as she'll miss him. Kenji tells her that he has no choice as if he were to stay more innocent people are going to die because of him. the two then hear a massive explosion and turn their heads to see Bloodragon and the marauders attacking the city. the two try to evacuate as many civilians as they can only to be confronted by Bloodragon. the three other rangers then show up on their samurai cycles and slash their way through marauders. the five are re-united at last and Kenji is convinced to stay in stone canyon until the Akuma are vanquished, all the while Deker watches them from behind a tree in human form. the five then morph to battle Bloodragon (cue Shinkenger episode 12 fight) Kenji then uses the tiger disc to power up the fire smasher cannon mode to destroy the monster, all the while Deker watches laughing at how he got what he deserved for interfering with his previous battle with the red ranger. Nocturna then shows up and she and Deker share a kiss before Nocturna plays her shamisen to make the monster grow while the two retreat to the netherworld. the rangers then summon their zords to fight the monster (cue shinkenger episode 12 megazord fight). the rangers are no match for Bloodragon and his giant-sized marauder army, forcing the rangers to try a new combination: combine the samurai megazord with the spirit eagle to form the spirit eagle megazord. the spirit eagle megazord then finishes off Bloodragon before we cut to the five rangers returning to the dojo and our episode ends with sensei Nobu and Kenji having a happy family reunion.
