Our episode opens with Austin at soccer practice while Jamie is sitting on the bleachers videotaping him with his camcorder, only for Austin to get hit on the head with a soccer ball knocking him over all the while Jamie laughs at his humiliation. Austin then gets back up and demands Jamie to delete that footage, saying that he wanted to videotape himself to impress Molly with his mad skills, not to make himself looks like a fool to the girl he's trying to impress. Jamie refuses, telling him that this footage is too hilarious to go to waste. Austin then tells Jamie "take that back, nerd". Jamie then makes the comeback "make me, jock" followed by Austin getting mad and kicking the soccer ball Jamie destroying his camcorder in the process. Jamie then gets off the bleachers to confront Austin, the two butting heads only for Molly to show up and break up the two, telling them to cut it out asking why it's so hard for the two of them to get along when they're on the same team. Lance and Brenda then both arrive on the scene to tell the two that Molly's right and that they should listen to her. Austin and Jamie then turn away from each other and walk away, followed by Molly shaking her head. we then cut to Tritor's ship where Cera enters the throneroom and presents general Tritor with a new monster: virox, a monster that can infect humans with a virus that will turn them into Caprisects thus providing them with an unlimited supply of soldiers for them to conquer the galaxy. Tritor likes this plan, telling her to send the monster down to earth immediately. Predatox then asks Tritor why he never gets the chance to fight the rangers, followed by Tritor telling him that now is not the time. we then cut back to Austin and Jamie walking home from school until they notice Virox attacking a woman underneath an underpass and hide. the two then start bickering over who gets to save her and be the hero, Austin wanting to do it for the glory and Jamie wanting to do it just because it's the right thing to do. Austin then tries to rush ahead only for Jamie to grab him by the back of the jacket and push him aside and get the head-start morphing to protect the woman who thanks the blue ranger for saving her before fainting in his arms all the while Austin secretly watches in jealousy followed by Jamie putting the unconscious civilian to fight the monster (cue Goseiger episode 5 first fight). before the monster can attack Jamie Austin rushes in to protect him with his snake axe all the while he fusses at Jamie for getting the honor of saving the damsel in distress instead of him followed by Jamie telling Austin now is not the time only for the monster to escape while the two are busy bickering. Austin then gets mad at Jamie stubbornly blaming him for the monster escaping followed by Jamie calling out Austin for his impulsive nature saying he was the one who started it thus it's his fault the monster got away. Jamie then notices that the unconscious woman's skin is starting to turn an ugly green and picks her up, telling Jamie that they need to take her to the command center so that Alpha can run some tests and figure out what's wrong with her before teleporting off while Austin tells Jamie "hey, wait for me!" before following suit. after that, we cut to the command center where we see the woman being put under an examination table by Alpha whom proceeds to scan her before informing Jamie that she's been infected by some kind of virus, but she doesn't know what it is. Jamie along with the other four rangers are puzzled by this, Molly asking Austin and Jamie about the monster they encountered when they found her. Austin then tells Molly a greatly exaggerated version of their encounter involving him beating that monster singlehandedly in order to impress her only for Jamie to push Austin out of the way telling him that's not what happened before telling the REAL story of their encounter to the others explaining that Austin's arrogance caused the monster to get away. Zador then interrupts telling both Austin and Jamie that they need to learn to get along soon if they are to find that monster and put a stop to it. Lance then tells the two that Zador's right and that they need to put aside their differences and that as rangers they are supposed to trust each other if they are to work as a team. Molly remarks easier said than done as jocks and nerds never get along. Alpha then informs the rangers that a larger-than-normal amount of Caprisects are attacking downtown Angel Grove. Lance tells Molly and Brenda that they'll come with him to take care of the Caprisects while Austin and Jamie will stay in the command center to keep an eye on the civilian. after the three morph and teleport out of the command center, Austin asks Jamie why he has to be stuck in here with him instead of fighting with the others, followed by Jamie telling Austin that he wishes that he wasn't here saying that he can't stand his attitude: he's impulsive, arrogant, chauvinistic, and even worse a dumb jock. Austin then retaliates by telling Jamie that he's neurotic, rambles a lot, is lacking in fighting skills, and even worse a too-smart-for-his-own-good nerd which makes the two realize that in spite from coming from different cliques the two in a way aren't that different from each other. Zador then congratulates the two for finally coming to terms with one another, followed by Austin apologizing to Jamie for being such a jerk. Jamie accepts Austin's apology and the two shake hands before we cut back to red, pink and yellow arriving at downtown Angel Grove and are shocked to see so many Caprisects along with seeing several civilians being transformed into Caprisects themselves upon coming into contact with them, including Fat Jack and Skinny Mack whom just so happen to be there at the wrong place and wrong time. Lance then asks what's going on only for Cera to show up and explain to the rangers that her monster Virox has infected the earthlings with a virus that transforms them into Caprisects of which the infected will spread to other humans and create even more Caprisects in the process. she then orders the transformed Caprisects to attack the rangers whom try to flee from them, not wanting to fight them as they're just innocent civilians. Lance contacts Austin and Jamie on his morpher informing them of the situation followed by the infected woman then suddenly transforming into a Caprisect and starts attacking Austin causing him to panic before the Caprisect is shot in the back by Jamie with his headder blaster knocking the Caprisect out cold, followed by Jamie helping Austin back up on his feet telling him not to worry as he set his blaster to stun meaning she's just knocked out cold until they can find a way to change her back. Jamie then radios Lance telling him that he and Austin will go after the monster and try to get a sample from it so he can develop a cure. the two then teleport out of the command center to the monster's location to confront Virox whom explains his plan to infect the entire human race to Austin and Jamie, starting with them. the two then morph to fight the monster two-on-one (cue Goseiger episode 5 second fight), Austin getting his butt kicked by Virox forcing Jamie to dual wield Austin's snake axe as well as his shark bowgun, damaging Virox's exoskeleton with the axe and getting a sample of the monster's blood by firing an arrow from the bowgun through its chest followed by Austin catching the arrow with Virox's blood on the tip before handing it to Jamie whom thanks Austin telling him all he needs to do now is get the sample back to the command center and hopefully develop a cure. the other three rangers then arrive on the scene followed by Jamie informing them that he got the sample followed by asking them where the other infected civilians are. Brenda the explains that they managed to quarantine them. the five rangers then team up to fight Virox before defeating the monster with the megaforce blaster followed by general Tritor ordering Vrak to summon the zombats in order to make the monster grow. the rangers then summon their zords to form the guardian megazord (cue Goseiger episode 5 monster fight), however Virox manages to easily overpower the megazord but they try to hold him off as best they can. Alpha then contacts Jamie and informs him that she's downmorphing a new set of zords for him, a gift from Zador as a reward for his compassion to get along with Austin in spite of their differences. Alpha then presses a button on the viewing screen followed by a new power card popping out of Jamie's belt buckle. Jamie then summons the new sea brothers zords to combine with the guardian megazord forming the sea guardian megazord to destroy Virox once and for all. after that, we cut to Jamie in the command center putting the finishing touches on an invention him and Alpha were developing together, Austin asking him what it's for. Jamie explains to him that it's a device that'll convert the liquid antidote into a gaseous form that'll spread across the city and cure the infected. Alpha and Zador are happy to see the two of them finally getting along. the five rangers then arrive at downtown Angel Grove where Jamie puts the vial of antidote into his invention and blasts it into the atmosphere curing everyone including Fat Jack and Skinny Mack whom hug each other happy to be turned back into humans, however this happy moment is interrupted by Jamie abruptly telling Austin that he managed to save his soccer practice video, pulling a memory card out of his pocket of which was the only thing that was left undamaged when he broke his camcorder. we then cut to the five rangers in the computer lab watching the video online with Molly telling Austin she loved it finding his humiliation flattering, causing him to blush and our episode ends with Austin fist-bumping Jamie calling him his new wingman.
