Our episode opens up with the sky ship flying back to Angel Grove where we see Lance looking out the window of the ship saying that their adventure in briarwood was fun but he's glad to be back home. we then see Austin goofing around with his legendary sabers, swinging them around saying "these swords are so cool, sure they're no snake axe but I can dig 'em" with Alpha ducking her head trying not to get decapitated saying "ai-yi-yi! watch where you're swinging that thing!" only for Austin to throw his sword at the wall right towards Brenda who was vibing on her MP3 player dodges it in time while Lance, Jamie, and Molly stare awkwardly with surprised looks on their faces. Brenda chastised Austin by telling him "Dude! you almost cut my head off!" with Austin saying "what? it slipped!" Orion pulls the sword out of the wall and holds the blade up to Austin's neck. Orion then tells Austin "your swordsmanship skills are a bit rusty there, Austin. you can't afford to be goofing off in a real fight when you're going up against the Armada's monsters". the cocky Austin then comments "I've gone up against the likes of General Tritor, Gigatron, and Vrak and I've never lost a fight" as he walks out of the room while the others watch, Polly saying "cocky! cocky! sqwak!" while Orion sighs in dismay saying that he agrees with his robot parrot. we then cut to the Armada flagship where we see a new monster enter the room: a master swordsman named Blademaster who bows to the prince and introduces himself. Prince Vekar then says "Blademaster eh, you better live up to your name, or else I'll be very disappointed" Blademaster then tosses an apple into the air and pulls out his sword to cut it into perfect slices faster than the eye can see to demonstrate his sword skills. Vekar tells him "I must admit your skills with a sword are quite impressive" and takes a bite of an apple slice while Insidia tells Blademaster "the fact you were able to impress my fiance of all people is remarkable all on its own" while Destro tells Blademaster "we didn't summon you for mere party tricks. every passing day the power rangers have been sparking rebellion against our authority over the planet earth and thanks to them we keep losing occupied territory. we need you to cut those color-coded freedom fighters down to size" Blademaster tells Destro "consider it done" and laughs maniacally. after that, we cut to the rangers helping the human resistance (which includes Fat Jack and Skinny Mack who are both now full-time members) deliver food and other supplies to the still-being-refurbished youth center with Ernie junior telling the resistance they're lifesavers with the amount of hard work they've been doing to rehabilitate the people of Angel Grove and their livelihoods after the invasion, Colonel Evan Taylor shaking Ernie junior's hand saying that he was happy to help, but the Colonel says that he should really be thanking the power rangers, as it's thanks to their heroism that has inspired people all over the world to start rebelling against the Armada while the five teens look and smile at each other only for them to look up and see a building suddenly get sliced in half prompting the five to sneak off to confront the monster (who is accompanied by a platoon of X-borgs) on a rooftop, Blademaster introducing himself to the rangers boasting about how he's the greatest swordsman in the known galaxy, Austin getting cocky again saying "we'll see about that" followed by the five rangers morphing to take on the monster (cue Gokaiger episode 4 fight) while the other rangers are busy dispatching the footsoldiers Austin recklessly rushes toward Blademaster to duel the monster one-on-one, Blademaster taunting Austin by telling him "your swordplay skills are decent, but not good enough to go toe-to-toe with the likes of me!" which makes Austin mad telling the monster to shut up as the two keep dueling. Orion and Alpha both watch their duel from the sky ship's computer monitor, Alpha exclaiming "ai-yi-yi! if Austin keeps this up, he's gonna get cut into pieces!" with Polly saying "agreed! agreed! sqwak!" Orion slams his fist into the computer console, saying "that kid's in way over his head" before telling Austin over intercom to get out of there now, however Austin doesn't listen telling Orion that he can take him much to Orion and Alpha's concern, Alpha saying "Austin no!" as Austin continues to lock blades only for Blademaster to hit Austin with a thousand-blade strike knocking him back into Civilian form only for his teammates to rush to his aid, Lance asking "what were you thinking trying to face a monster that can cut through buildings by yourself?" the injured Austin saying "I thought I could take him..." before Alpha teleports them back to the command ship while Blademaster looks up and says "we'll finish this later blue ranger". after that we cut to the sky ship where we see Alpha 8 bandaging up Austin's wounds, Orion looking down at Austin telling him "what you did out there was very stupid, you were lucky to have survived that fight with Blademaster" Lance agreeing with Orion saying "Orion's right, you should have let us handle him as a team instead of trying to be the big hero. what would happen if your ego got one of us hurt, like Molly for example" Austin trying to act chivalrous butts heads with Lance telling him "leave my girlfriend out of this" Molly exclaiming "excuse me?" while Austin walks away. Brenda places her hand on Molly's shoulder, telling her friend "maybe I can talk some sense into him" while Molly tells her "you better, or else he might not come back in one piece" while Jamie looks and asks Orion and Polly "where's Alpha? she was just here a second ago" while Polly sitting on Orion's shoulder says "oh no, oh no. sqwak!" we then cut to Austin standing in a forest just outside Angel Grove holding two legendary sabers, Alpha setting up four ground-mounted knife launchers around the forest before asking "Are you sure this is safe, Austin? I don't want you to hurt yourself harder than you already have" Austin tells the female robot "just shut up and flip the switch, Alpha. I need to train so that I can be ready for our next fight" Alpha 8 just shakes her head and goes "ai-yi-yi" before flipping the switch causing the knife launchers to shoot knives at Austin who closes his eyes and remembers Orion's words to him "you can't afford to be goofing off in a real fight when you're going up against the Armada's monsters" as he deflects each of the incoming projectiles with his sabers. Brenda then arrives in the forest and asks Alpha what's going on, and Alpha explains that Austin asked her to set up this training course for him, Brenda turning her head to see Austin running around the forest doing parkour as he tries to dodge the knives, one of them flying straight towards Brenda which Austin deflects with his saber. she asks Austin "what do you thin you're doing? this is incredibly stupid and dangerous!" Austin pushes Brenda out of the way before deflecting several blades pushing his body to its physical limits as he tells her "you don't understand what this means to me. I refuse to let that monster humiliate me in battle again. I have to beat him next time!" only for him to miss a knife that cuts him in the shoulder causing Austin to scream in pain as he collapses on the ground. Alpha then turns off the machines while Brenda rushes to Austin's aid ripping a piece of her sleeve off and wrapping it around Austin's arm like a bandage, Brenda calling Orion and the other rangers on her legendary morpher telling them that she found Austin, but he badly hurt himself. Molly rolls her eyes saying "that's not surprising" only for Blademaster to appear on the sky ship's computer monitor calling out to the blue ranger to come and finish their duel to see who truly is the superior swordsman once and for all much to the concern of Orion who then calls Austin on his legendary morpher telling him "Blademaster is at the beach, but do not engage him alone" only for Austin to not listen saying "sorry Orion but it's me he wants, this is my fight not yours. oh and Molly, be sure to cheer me on while I kick that monster's butt" causing Molly to roll her eyes before Austin hangs up. we then cut to Blademaster on the beach as he turns around to see Austin saying "ah, blue ranger. back for a second beating I see. too bad your ranger friends aren't here to help you like last time" Austin getting cocky again smirks and says "I don't need their help. because I'm gonna take you down all on my own, you and me one-on-one" before morphing to duel Blademaster one-on-one (cue Gokaiger episode 4 second fight) Blademaster attacks with yet another thousand-blade strike only for Austin to parry with his two swords while Brenda watches from behind a rock as three bruisers sneak up from behind to hold Austin down as he says "wait, I thought this was supposed to be one on one. you cheated!" Blademaster laughs and says "of course I don't fight fair, that's how I became the greatest swordsman in the galaxy!" before hitting Austin with a barrage of blades that knocks him onto the ground. Brenda calls Orion on her morpher to inform him and the others that Austin's in trouble before morphing to go help Austin, followed by Orion getting Brenda's message before telling Lance, Jamie, and Molly to go help their teammates with the three rangers morphing before we cut to Austin being pinned down by Blademaster who is about to finish the blue ranger off only for him to get shot by Lance, Jamie, and Molly as they slide down the cables of the sky ship to go rescue their friend. the three rangers engage the bruisers with Molly telling Austin "you know it was a pretty bone-headed decision to go after that monster by yourself, but I'd still cheer you on because I love you" while Jamie says "we'll handle the grunts. you go after the big guy. we know you can do it Austin". Austin gets the proper motivation to get back up and fight Blademaster one-on-one while Lance, Jamie, Molly, and Brenda fight off the X-borgs and bruisers, Brenda saying "guess you guys got my message" with Molly saying "of course we did, girlfriend. we wouldn't just leave you two behind" followed by the four morphing into Jungle Fury, exclaiming "Jungle beast, spirit unleashed!" as they fight off the bruisers with martial arts before switching to SPD shouting "SPD emergency!" to finish off the bruisers with shots from their delta blasters and deltamax strikers. meanwhile Blademaster tries using his thousand-blade strike again only for Austin to make the witty remark "you're starting to get predictable" before cutting his blade in half forcing Blademaster to use a new move making a bunch of blades extend out of his body to attack the blue ranger which Insidia watches from the computer monitor, Insidia explaining to the others that after Blademaster's first fight with the blue ranger she modified his physiology giving him the ability to produce blades out of his own body to make sure that he can't lose. Austin is overwhelmed by this new ability, however the other rangers decide to pitch in and toss their swords to Austin who catches them holding three swords in one hand and two in the other cutting through all of Blademaster's blades much to his surprise asking how it's even possible. Austin then pulls out five blue ranger keys for a "blue splash" attack using the powers of five water-based blue rangers: Megaforce, Samurai, Mystic force, Ninja storm, and Lost galaxy finishing off Blademaster once and for all. meanwhile on the Armada flagship Prince Vekar throws a hissy fit cursing those rangers however Insidia says "It's not over yet dear" before using the sattelasers to make Blademaster and the bruisers grow. Lance calls Orion telling him to send in the zords followed by the rangers forming the Legendary megazord before summoning the mystic dragon to form the Legendary mystic force megazord to take the fight to the skies (cue Gokaiger episode 4 megazord fight) once the monsters have been grounded the Legendary megazord destroys the grunts with its chest cannon before switching back to the mystic dragon to destroy Blademaster once and for all. after that, we cut to the rangers (along with Orion) being served froyos by Ernie junior at the refurbished youth center, Austin apologizing to his teammates for being so reckless, saying that he was so eager to prove himself that he let his ego get the best of him. Orion puts his hand on Austin's shoulder, telling him that all is forgiven and that he's part of the team, all the while Brenda tells Austin that he had all of them scared for a moment while Molly puts her arm around Austin and tells him "my hero" as she smooches him on the cheek ending our episode on a happy note.
