Episode 19: Ranger gossip

Our episode opens up on Tritor's ship where we see Cera pay visit to Vrak in his cell, Cera informing her love that she's gonna bust him out of his cell. Vrak asks Cera what took her so long, and Cera tells Vrak that she didn't want to raise the suspicions of General Tritor. Cera then hacks into the ship's security systems with her tablet to free Vrak from his prison cell where he is greeted by Lurker and Sasquatcho, the two mutants happy to serve their master once more. Vrak gives Cera a kiss of gratitude, thanking her for saving him from the fate of rotting in a cell for an eternity, which is no place for a royal such as himself. Cera assures Vrak to not worry about General Tritor finding out, as she already has a monster taking care of him. her name is Mermur. We then cut to General Tritor sitting in his throne on the bridge of the ship, wondering what his underlings are planning. Mermur then sneaks behind tritor and sprays water from her mouth attaching a silver scale to the back of General Tritor's neck before slipping away. Tritor then has a hallucination of Zador in his human form, causing Tritor to take a step back saying "ZADOR? NO, YOU CAN'T BE HERE! I TRAPPED YOU IN A TIME WARP!" as the image of his former friend chastises Tritor for being a traitor who sold his own people out to the Armada leading to the fall of Eltar. Tritor then gets angry and shoots force lightning from his fingertips which go right through Zador and electrocute the computer console while a Vrak watches, telling Mermur "Most Impressive, imagine what could be done if we applied that to the rangers" with Mermur saying "It will be done" before teleporting down to Earth. after that, we cut to the five rangers having fun by the swimming pool, Lance playing in the water with his kid brother Allen while Lance's mom tells the boys to not play rough. Austin thanks Mrs. Taylor for inviting them here for some fun in the sun before turning his head to check out the bikini-clad Molly followed by both Molly and Brenda chastising Austin being his normal womanizing self with Jamie saying "busted". meanwhile both Fat Jack and Skinny Mack are busy relaxing in the hot tub with their shades on until they notice people running out of the pool screaming which confuses the rangers as well. the two then get out of the hot tub to notice a fish-like shape beneath the pool water's surface. Fat Jack looks at Skinny Mack telling him "Look, a mermaid! looks like we just hit the jackpot ol' buddy!" followed by Mermur emerging from the pool who greets the two saying "hello boys, come on give mommy a kiss!" spraying water from her mouth in Skinny Mack's face attaching one of her scales to Skinny Mack before he faints, Fat Jack saying "woah that's one ugly mermaid" as he watches the monster walk through the crowds of screaming people who evacuate the pool. Fat Jack tries to get Skinny Mack to wake up, slapping him across the face until he wakes up. Fat Jack asks Skinny Mack if he's okay, however from Skinny Mack's point of view he mishears Fat Jack as insulting Skinny Mack to his face which offends him much to Fat Jack's confusion. Molly notices the two arguing with each other which leads to the two comically slapping each other. the monster then scares the two off followed by the five rangers hiding behind a building to morph and summon their megaforce cycles to chase after Mermur. the five then catch up to Mermur and hop off their bikes to whip out their blasters and open fire on the monster however she dives into a puddle and sticks her head out of the water, taunting the rangers which angers Austin who summons his snake axe and charges at Mermur only for Mermur to shoot water from her mouth at Austin causing him to de-morph along with attaching one of her scales to the back of his neck. Robo Knight then arrives on the scene to open fire on Mermur who escapes through the portal, followed by Robo Knight asking the rangers if they're okay. Lance tells Robo Knight that the rest of the team is okay, but Austin he's not so sure about. after that, we cut to Austin at soccer practice trying to get his mind off from his recent encounter with the monster only for him to start hearing things, hearing people from his own high school soccer team talking about how much of a bad player he is behind his back which causes him to have a mental breakdown and run off. after that we cut to Lance, Jamie, Molly, and Brenda hanging out at Ernie's talking about how concerned they are for Austin over smoothies. Molly points out how she saw Fat Jack and Skinny Mack were acting weird after one of them got sprayed in the face by that monster, which makes her worried that the very same thing might be happening to Austin. and right on cue, Austin walks through the door just in time to overhear his fellow rangers's conversation, however thanks to the effects of the scale he mishears Molly as her talking about how much of a pig she thinks Austin is and how he's a terrible boyfriend which breaks Austin's heart shaking him to the core making him leave, Ernie jr. looking in confusion asking the four teens "what's his problem?" before they go chasing after him. after that, we cut to Mermur emerging out of the ocean and walking onto the beach where she is greeted by Vrak, Cera, Lurker, and Sasquatcho. Vrak asks Mermur what took her so long, and Murmur says "forgive me your highness, but I had a run-in with the power rangers... but luckily I managed to hit the Black Ranger with one of my scales" Sasquatcho doesn't believe her, however Cera looks at her tablet to look at a list of people that have been tagged by the monster's scales according to the energy frequencies that the scales emit, pointing out that the Black Ranger is on the list followed by Lurker comically bonking Sasquatcho on the head with his staff for being an idiot while Cera looks at Vrak explaining to him that Mermur's scales causes people to hear nothing but negative thoughts preying on their personal fears and insecurities, meaning that the Black Ranger's confidence is being chipped away bit by bit. however General Tritor teleports onto the scene to tell his crew "That was a very dirty trick you pulled" before ripping the scale off the back of his neck and crushing it in the palm of his hand causing all of them to step back in fear, followed by Tritor saying "Now all of you will pay for your treachery!" shooting lightning from both of his hands electrocuting Vrak, Cera, Lurker, Sasquatcho, and Mermur all at once all five of them lying on the ground writhing in pain. however Robo Knight arrives on the scene pointing his gun at General Tritor, telling him that it's time he brings him to justice once and for all. Tritor turns around to face Robo Knight, saying "Ah if it isn't the legendary Robo Knight, Zador's greatest creation. finally we meet face to face". Robo Knight fires blasts from his lion laser that Tritor deflects with the wave of a hand before whipping out his axe with Robo Knight activating his lion laser's sword mode leading to the two clashing weapons. during their duel Mermur shoots a blast of water at Sasquatcho's back attaching one of her scales to the mutant bigfoot causing him to hear the other villains talking about how the black ranger is a much better fighter behind his back causing Sasquatcho to go berserk and charge at both General Tritor and Robo Knight only for General Tritor to teleport away leading to Sasquatcho knocking Robo Knight on his feet. Zador and Alpha witness this from the viewing screen, Alpha telling Zador that Robo Knight's in trouble. Robo Knight then limps into the command center, Robo Knight telling Zador to call the rangers while Alpha helps her robotic lover back up onto his feet. after that, we cut to Lance, Jamie, Molly, and Brenda wandering around downtown Angel Grove looking for Austin only for them to see crowds of people arguing with each other (including Fat Jack and Skinny Mack) Jamie noticing the scale on Skinny Mack's neck pointing it out to his teammates, saying that it must be those scales must be what's causing this. Molly then tells Jamie that they got to find Austin before it's too late, followed by the rangers getting a call from Zador informing the rangers that a monster is on the loose and Vrak is behind the attacks, Molly making the sarcastic comment "well that's not a surprise" only for the four rangers to get jumped by Mermur who tells the four that they in fact are too late, as she already tagged their friend in black with one of her scales, now all he can hear are negative thoughts slowly draining him of his confidence. Lance then tells Mermur that they'll stop her right here and now followed by the four morphing while Mermur summons the Caprisects (cue Goseiger episode 27 fight) while the monster retreats leaving the rangers to deal with the mooks. we then cut to Austin kicking his soccer ball at a rock formation in the quarry frustrated with how the other rangers talked smack about him behind his back, only for Lance to call Austin on his morpher informing him that they need his help. however Austin mishears it as Lance telling Austin that Zador has decided to boot him from the team, saying that they only need four members to get the job done. Austin retaliates, telling him "Well I don't need you anyway, I can be a hero all on my own!" much to Lance's confusion, all the while Cera watches their argument from a cliffside, Cera saying "Oh this is too good to be true! Mermur has turned them against each other!" as she talks to Vrak on her tablet. Robo Knight then arrives on the scene pointing his lion laser to the back of Austin's neck, the down-on-his-luck Austin saying "go ahead, finish me off Robo Knight. I'm of no value to this team anyway" Robo Knight then shoots the scale off of Austin's neck causing him to snap out of his self-deprecation. Austin asks what happened here, and Robo Knight explains to him that he was under a monster's spell that caused him to hear negative thoughts. Austin tells Robo Knight that it's basically ranger gossip, only for Mermur to emerge from a puddle shouting "NO NO NO! this isn't how it's supposed to end! you were supposed to destroy each other!" and is about to slap Austin as payback for foiling her plans only for Robo Knight to block her arm with his sword telling her to leave his human friend alone while Cera stands up to take a step back, Vrak asking what's going on from her tablet. Cera informs Vrak that the plan's been compromised, Robo Knight destroyed the scale on the black ranger's back. Sasquatcho then arrives on the scene asking Cera permission to crush the Black Ranger into the dust to prove that he's the superior fighter, followed by Cera telling Sasquatcho to go get him. Sasquatcho then leaps off the cliff and pushes Mermur out of the way saying "the black one's mine!" before smacking Austin with his club knocking him into a cliff face. however before Sasquatcho can deliver the killing blow to Austin the other four rangers arrive on the scene on their Megaforce cycles firing lasers from their bikes causing an explosion that knocks Sasquatcho off his feet. Sasquatcho gets back up and fights off the four rangers by himself all the while the injured Austin is getting manhandled by Mermur who grabs him by the head and makes him watch as his friends are getting pummelled by Sasquatcho who tells the four rangers to get out of his way as his business is with the black ranger. Mermur whispers into Austin's ear telling him that his friends can't save him now, however Robo Knight comes to Austin's rescue by shooting at Mermur making her let him go. Austin then gets back up, saying that he's sick of all the negative talk and he won't let the what others think of him keep him down followed by Austin standing in-between Sasquatcho and the rangers telling the mutant bigfoot "It's me you want" before morphing into the black ranger and activating his guardian armor to fight Sasquatcho one-on-one (cue Goseiger episode 27 second fight). after Austin defeats Sasquatcho the other rangers congratulate Austin, Molly hugging him happy to see that he's okay. Austin tries to play it cool and tells her to thank Robo Knight, not him while Robo Knight defeats Mermur. Robo Knight then promts the other four rangers to activate their guardian armor and they do finishing off Sasquatcho and Mermur with a combined guardian strike attack. while Mermur is destroyed, Sasquatcho survives but the blast ends up destroying the scale attached to his shoulder while Cera watches from the cliffside only for Vrak to show up and walks up to Cera asking his lover what he missed. Cera tells Vrak he came just in time and tells him to summon the zombats. Vrak then snaps his fingers and summons the zombats to make Mermur grow with Austin telling his fellow rangers to summon the zords. the rangers form the guardian megazord while Robo Knight forms the Robo Knight megazord to fight the monster (cue Goseiger episode 27 megazord fight) followed by Austin summoning the land brothers zords to form the land guardian megazord to finish off the monster once and for all causing everyone in Angel Grove to be broken free from the monster's spell, including Fat Jack and Skinny Mack who both forget what they were arguing about, all the while General Tritor watches the rangers's victory from the screen in his ship as he contemplates the growing treachery in his ranks. after that, our episode then ends with the rangers celebrating their victory at Ernie's with the rangers welcoming Austin back with open arms.
