Our episode opens up with Deker sitting by a campfire sharpening his sword until lord Ashura's ghostly image appears in the fire and starts calling for his name causing Deker to put out the fire by stomping it repeatedly telling his father to leave him alone, as he doesn't want any involvement with him or the Akuma clan and that all he wishes is to live a normal life as a human being. Ashura's ghostly form then emerges out of a crack in the cave wall and tells his son that he can never live a normal life as Deker is his flesh and blood. Deker then tells his father that there must be a way to rid himself of his accursed Akuma half as Nocturna attempted it, even though she failed thanks to the rangers but at least she tried. an idea then pops into lord Ashura's head and tries to manipulate his son in order to get him to re-join the Akuma clan by telling Deker that if he destroys the last surviving descendant of the Shiba clan for him he'll rid Deker of his Akuma half and make him human again. Deker however doesn't believe him and turns down the offer, followed by the now-frustrated Ashura to return to the netherworld while Deker contemplates whether he should take the chance and make the deal with his father or not before we cut to lord Ashura returning to Akuma palace and vowing to take down Kenji Shiba himself, summoning a giant army of marauders to attack stone canyon. sensei is surprised about this, as he has never seen this much Akuma activity happening in one place his entire lifetime. the five rangers then morph and hop on their samurai cycles to arrive on the scene of the attack. we then cut to Bulk and Spike being attacked at their sushi spot by marauders, only for the yellow and pink rangers to come and get them to safety. meanwhile, the boys are too busy fighting off the giant marauders in the beetle, swordfish, and tiger zords before forming the spirit eagle to destroy them. the three then hop out of their zords to re-join the girls only to be surrounded by marauders, followed by the rangers destroying the remaining marauders with their elemental slash attacks. however more marauders keep coming, however they all seems to be targeting the red ranger specifically. Kenji then hears a familiar voice of which he recognizes as lord Ashura who's ghostly form appears before Kenji and the rangers as he gives the samurai team an ominous warning that the Shiba clan will fall by his hands before Kenji borrows Ava's sword to dual wield and finish off the remaining marauders with a lightning slash attack and Ashura slinks back into the depths of the netherworld. after that, the rangers de-morph and ask Kenji who that freaky ghost guy was. Kenji then tells them that was lord Ashura, the leader of the Akuma clan who is bad news. luckily his body was destroyed when he was sealed away by the Shiba clan 300 years ago and is now just a disembodied spirit and cannot physically hurt them. we then cut to Akuma palace where lord Ashura is angry at how Kenji Shiba managed to defeat his entire marauder army while Octomancer tries to calm him down, summoning the monster Bloodragon to destroy Kenji Shiba for him. after that, we cut back to the dojo where sensei explains to the rangers that the sealing symbol was what sealed lord Ashura and the Akuma clan at the end of the fateful war 300 years ago and was used by Kenji's ancestor who was the original head of the Shiba clan and the first one to perfect the sealing symbol which cost him his life in order to seal Ashura and has been passed down the Shiba family for generations. Kenji then demands sensei to teach him the sealing symbol so that they can stop the coming war before it even begins, however sensei tells his nephew that he can't as his older brother grandpa Mako never entrusted him with its secrets as he didn't think he was worthy enough to master it. after that, we cut back to Akuma palace where we see Deker enter Akuma palace with lord Ashura asking if he changed his mind, with Deker telling his father that he'll do anything to rid himself of this accursed form, even if it means bowing down to the likes of him, followed by lord Ashura telling his son that he's pleased to be back with the Akuma. after that, we cut to Kenji training in the dojo for his coming battle with the Akuma clan, all the while he is being watched by his uncle Nobu who admires Kenji selfless nature but then has flashbacks to uncle Nobu's promise to grandpa Mako to make sure that young Kenji never finds out about what he really is, or else their plan of preserving the Shiba clan will be jeopardized. this makes Mako feel terrible about withholding the truth, however he is aware that it is for his own safety. the rangers then hear the gap sensor and head for the nearby quarry on their samurai cycles, only to be confronted by Bloodragon. Kenji tells the others to stay back and fights the monster alone while the other rangers fight off the marauders. Kenji is knocked down by Bloodragon but before he can finish him off Nigel and Ava take a hit for him. Oscar and Sadie leap in and try to take the hit for Kenji only for Deker to stand in the way and knock back Sadie and Oscar and lock swords with Kenji. Deker then tells Bloodragon to back off, as the red ranger is HIS opponent and tells Bloodragon that he can return to Akuma palace. Bloodragon refuses as he's having too much fun and the two double-team on Kenji who dual-wields two spiral swords against the two Akuma. Bloodragon then tells Deker that lord Ashura is going to have his head for this before retreating. after that, Kenji asks Deker why he wants to fight him so bad, and Deker tells Kenji that defeating him is the only way his father will rid himself of this accursed form and make him fully human. the two then have a brief one-on-one fight before Deker senses something familiar in Kenji and tells him that he's an interesting opponent, as he has an aura not like that of a normal human's. he then reverts back to his human form and tells him that the two have more in common than he thought. the other four rangers are shocked and recognize him as the guy from "red vs. blue" and are shocked to learn that he and lord Ashura's son are one and the same. he then tells them that he never asked for this life and that next time he will change that with bringing his father the head of the red ranger before retreating. after that, we cut back to the dojo where sensei asks the rangers where Kenji is. this worries them, as they've checked everywhere and he is nowhere to be found. our episode then ends with Kenji leaving a note at the front door before leaving not wanting anyone to get hurt because of him.
