Episode 20: Dream snatcher

Our episode opens up with Mr. Fowler and his class on a school field trip to the NASADA observatory in Angel Grove, where we are introduced to the head scientist of the facility Professor Kennedy who shakes hands with Mr. Fowler who tells him that he and his class came here at the right time, as today is the day the facility gets to test out the telescope for the coming meteor shower that's tonight, saying that with this baby they'll get to see plenty of shooting stars. Fat Jack and Skinny Mack both get excited with Fat Jack pulling a comically long list out of his pocket, a list of wishes the two of them plan on making during the meteor shower. Brenda rolls her eyes, saying "you don't need that many wishes guys, you only need one". Lance looks at Brenda and asks her what her wish is, followed by Brenda telling Lance in a flirtatious manner that she wants to become a great singer and songwriter one day. Austin looks at Molly and asks her "You wanna know what my wish is?" followed by Molly turning her head in disgust saying "don't even think about going there". Jamie asks Lance if he plans on watching the meteor shower in Angel Grove park tonight after school with the rest of them, however Lance tells him that he can't because he promised to watch it from his apartment with Allen and he didn't want to disappoint his little brother. after that, we cut to Tritor's ship where we see the Caprisects bring forth a captured Lurker and Sasquatcho to General Tritor who demands the two mutants to tell him where Vrak is. the two swear that they don't know where he is followed by a pair of Caprisects entering the throne room holding the Aurora box, threatening to seal the two back inside if they don't tell him the truth. Lurker and Sasquatcho both start groveling at Tritor's feet, begging for him to believe him that they are telling the truth along with pledging their undying loyalty to General Tritor who spares the two, telling them that a little honesty can go a long way and thus he has decided to keep them around as long as they are of use to him. meanwhile Cera sneaks around to grab the Aurora box, only for her to get caught by Lurker and Sasquatcho who alert Tritor who turns his throne around, Cera calling the two mutants traitors for selling her out. General Tritor asks Cera where she thinks she's going while both Lurker and Sasquatcho laugh evilly followed by Cera running off with Tritor ordering the Caprisects to chase after her. Cera runs through the hallways from the Caprisects before teleporting out of the ship Aurora Box in hand much to the frustration of Tritor. after that, we cut to the following night where we see Austin, Molly, and Brenda sitting at a picnic table at Angel Grove park ready to watch the meteor shower (with Brenda cock-blocking Austin by standing in-between him and Molly to make sure the two are an arm's length from each other) while Jamie is busy setting up the telescope. Jamie tests it out, Austin asking Jamie if he sees anything. Jamie says he sees one, followed by another. and another. and another, enough for Austin and the girls to spot without the need for a telescope with Austin closing his eyes making a wish for Molly to go out with him, followed by Molly rolling her eyes before telling Brenda to make a wish. Brenda tells Molly that all she wishes for right now is for Lance to be here, he doesn't know what he's missing. We then cut to Lance's apartment where Lance enters his little brother Allen's room telling him that he's gonna miss the meteor shower, however the kid's already fallen asleep. Lance smiles, saying "goodnight kiddo" before closing the door. once Lance leaves the room, the monster Dream Snatcher emerges from Allen's closet and eats his dream, exclaiming "a sweet dream, delicioso" before we cut to inside Allen's dream where he is dreaming about finally getting to be re-united with his and Lance's dad only for his dream to get eaten causing him to wake up and spot the monster causing him to scream dropping the monster's cover. Dream snatches then hides in Allen's closet and teleports before Lance and his mother enter the room to see a scared Allen hiding under the covers. Mrs. Taylor asks her youngest son what happened, and Allen tries to explain to her that he saw a monster in his closet. Lance tells his mother that they should check, just to be safe. Mrs. Taylor opens the closet and sees that it's empty, assuring Allen that there's no monster in there and that he must have had a bad dream. Lance however suspects that it wasn't just his little brother's imagination and contacts the other rangers on his mega morpher interrupting their stargazing informing them of the situation, telling them to meet him at the command center tomorrow. After that we cut to the next day where Cera meets up with Vrak in the forest outside Angel Grove where she gives him the Aurora Box. Cera then introduces Vrak to her latest monster, Dream Snatcher explaining that he can eat people's dreams, Dream Snatcher saying that he though the kid's dream he ate last night was "mui tasty". Vrak is intrigued by this monster's capabilities, saying that maybe they can use the Aurora box to amplify the monster's powers tenfold. Cera is intrigued by this, saying that it could work. Vrak then opens the Aurora box sending a flow of energy into Dream snatcher's body causing him to become supercharged with power. we then get a montage of Dream Snatcher prancing around downtown Angel Grove eating up people's dreams one by one, including those of Fat Jack and Skinny Mack who fall to the monster's feet, Dream Snatcher finally satisfied with his feast of dreams saying that that hit the spot. After that, we cut to the five rangers hanging out at Ernie's only for them to get a message from Zador to hurry to the command center followed by the five sneaking out to teleport to the command center where they are greeted by Alpha who asks the rangers what appears to be the emergency. Lance then walks up to Zador and informs him that his little brother said he saw a monster in the closet, saying that he sounded like it wasn't a dream, all the while the other four rangers look at each other with concern after hearing the worried tone in lance's voice, Brenda telling the others that he's not making it up. Zador then tells the rangers that what Lance's little brother saw definitely wasn't a dream telling the rangers to behold the viewing screen. the five then look at the screen on the Arcade cabinet and see Dream Snatcher eating people's dreams left and right, Zador informing the rangers that the Dream Snatcher is a monster that feeds off of human dreams, if they don't stop him the victims may never wake up so they must hurry and stop it once and for all. the five rangers then morph and summon their megaforce cycles to ride through downtown Angel Grove past crowds of screaming people. we then cut to Dream Snatcher cornering Lance's mom and Allen, Allen telling his mother that THAT was the monster he saw in his closet. Lance's mom is terrified to know that her youngest son was telling the truth and screams at the top of her lungs before Dream Snatcher eats her dream causing Mrs. Taylor to fall unconscious. the five rangers then arrive on the scene on their megaforce cycles to blast the monster away knocking him off his feet followed by the five hopping off their bikes to see Allen crying over his unconscious mother. Brenda kneels down to comfort Allen, hugging the kid while assuring him that she and the other rangers will save his mother. Lance clenches his fist with rage seeing his unconscious mother, turning his head to the monster shouting "WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER!?" Dream Snatcher continues to explain to Lance that the Aurora Box has enhanced his powers granting him the ability to trap people's souls in the dark dream dimension and starts laughing. Brenda tells Allen to get to safety and he does followed by the five rangers taking on Dream Snatcher (cue Goseiger episode 30 fight) only for the rangers to get beaten to a pulp by the monster. however Robo Knight shoots the monster. Robo Knight looks down to see the unconscious Mrs. Taylor lying on the ground and asks what happened. Jamie explains to Robo Knight that Lance's mom got her dream eaten. Robo Knight asks what dreams are, followed by Lance explaining to Robo Knight that dreams are the things humans wish for and believe in, saying that mom's dream was to see dad again. Brenda then explains to Robo Knight that her dream is to become a great musician only for Dream Snatcher to sneak up behind Brenda and eat her dream causing her to fall unconscious and de-morph scaring poor Allen who witnesses this from behind a building petrified in fear. as Lance desperately tries to get Brenda to wake up showing how much he cares about her before he is comforted by Molly, followed by Robo Knight charging at Dream Snatcher ready to swing his lion laser sword at the monster only for him to miss as a bolt of lightning shoots out of nowhere to knock the monster into a wall, the lightning being revealed to have come from none other than General Tritor who arrives on the scene accompanied by Lurker and Sasquatcho by his side Tritor demanding the monster to tell him where the Aurora Box is, however Dream Snatcher refuses to tell causing Tritor to electrocute the monster causing Dream Snatcher to writhe in pain, the rangers watching in confusion Robo Knight puzzled as to why General Tritor is attacking his own monster all the while Cera witnesses this from atop a balcony, Cera pressing a button on her tablet that teleports away Dream Snatcher much to Tritor's frustration followed by Cera teleporting away herself. the rangers and Robo Knight all point their blasters at Tritor while Lurker and Sasquatcho ready their weapons to defend the general, Lance demanding the villains to tell them what sort of evil plan he's up to. General Tritor looks down at Lance's unconscious mother before looking around to see several unconscious people lying on the ground all around him. Tritor explains to the rangers that none of this damage was his doing, explaining that he didn't send the monster it was those traitors Vrak and Cera who are responsible and they stole the Aurora box from him. Molly asks why she should believe him, saying that it's guilt by association meaning if her best friend dies it'll still be his fault. Tritor gives the signal for Lurker and Sasquatcho to lower their weapons and tells the rangers that he didn't come here to fight, he's only here to reclaim the Aurora Box and nothing more before he and the mutand duo teleport away followed by the four rangers de-morphing. after that, we cut to Brenda in the dreamworld performing on her guitar in front of a live audience the same song from "face the music" only for her to notice something off about her audience acting static and not responding causing her to stop playing and gets off the stage, placing her hand on one of the audience members causing her hand to go right through followed by the audience members to start flickering. Brenda drops her guitar as her whole surroundings start flickering around her causing her to panic asking what's going on here before everything starts disappearing all around her leaving poor Brenda stranded in an empty black void. after that, we cut to the rangers teleporting to the command center with Lance holding the unconscious Brenda in his arms. Alpha is shocked to see Brenda knocked out cold asking what happened. Lance explains to the little robot that a monster ate her dream, along with his mother's. Alpha scans Brenda and informs the rangers that while Brenda is alive, she is locked in a deep deep sleep. Jamie snaps his fingers, exclaiming "like a coma!" Zador tells the rangers that this is worse than he thought, Zador explaining to the rangers that with the power of the Aurora box, Dream Snatcher is more powerful than ever and must be stopped if they are to save Brenda, Lance's mother, and the rest of the people who's souls are trapped in the dream dimension. after that, we cut back to the dream dimension where we see Brenda walking through the endless black void until she sees a depressed Mrs. Taylor sitting at a train station. Brenda walks up to her, asking why the long face. Mrs. Taylor recognizes her as one of her son's friends and explains to her that her husband is with the military overseas and that she's sitting here waiting for him to get back from the airport so that he can come home and see her and the kids again. however after all the waiting he still hasn't come back yet causing Lance's mother to break down and cry which makes Brenda feel sorry for her. Brenda then looks around the black void to see other people sulking about losing their dreams, including poor Fat Jack and Skinny Mack who are sulking about none of their wishes coming true. after that, we cut to the four rangers driving through the forest on their Megaforce cycles while Vrak watches from behind a tree, the alien prince clenching his fist saying that he's got them right where he wanted. we then see Cera and Dream Snatcher arriving on the scene where Dream Snatcher informs Vrak that he managed to capture the Pink Ranger and now her dream is in his belly. Vrak congratulates the monster on a job well done followed by Cera informing Vrak that Tritor is searching for the Aurora Box and will stop at nothing to get it back. Vrak looks at Dream Snatcher and tells him to go capture the other rangers for him while he and Cera deal with Tritor before the two teleport away. after that, we cut to General Tritor's ship where we see Tritor sitting on his throne where he gets a video transmission from Vrak offering the general back the Aurora Box. Tritor asks what the catch is, and Vrak promises General Tritor that he and Cera have decided to surrender and accept any form of punishment he wishes. Tritor gets off his throne and says "go on" much to the confusion of both Lurker and Sasquatcho. after that, we cut to the rangers in the forest hopping off their Megaforce cycles with Jamie telling the others that he has a plan to lure out the monster before activating a power card that plays music from his mega morpher. Dream Snatcher gets excited and shouts "the sound of music, it's like a dinner bell to my ears!" as he falls right into the rangers trap (cue Goseiger episode 30 second fight) the four rangers activating their guardian armor to fight dream snatcher. we then cut to the dream world where we see Brenda deliver an inspirational speech to all the people trapped inside about how if we all work together we can make any of our dreams come true, followed by Brenda wishing that everyone would get out of here lifting everyone's spirits breaking them out of their depression and causing everyone's souls to burst out of the monster's stomach returning everyone to their bodies, Skinny Mack asking Fat Jack what just happened, followed by Fat Jack that he thinks Brenda saved them from being monster food. meanwhile Allen is happy to have his mom back and hugs her tightly, Mrs. Taylor telling her son that he wouldn't believe what kind of dream she had. Robo Knight looks at all the people's souls returning to their bodies and asks "Is this really what dreams are made of?" followed by Brenda walking behind Robo Knight to tell him "of course, dreams are what gives us the energy to live. it's what makes us human" followed by Brenda getting a call on her mega morpher from Alpha who informs her that the other rangers need her help followed by Zador saying "go Brenda, and let the power protect you". Brenda then morphs before we cut back to the other rangers fighting off dream snatcher followed by Brenda arriving on the scene riding on Robo Knight's headder mode. Robo Knight then transforms into his robot mode to land with Brenda with the other four rangers happy to have her back. Brenda then activates her guardian armor followed by her and Robo Knight both double-teaming against Dream Snatcher with the two using a combined attack to finish the monster off once and for all. we then cut to Vrak and Cera still waiting on the rooftop waiting for Tritor to arrive followed by Cera informing Vrak that the rangers have destroyed Dream Snatcher. Vrak snaps his fingers to summon the Zombats to make Dream Snatcher grow. the rangers and Robo Knight then all summon their zords to form the Robo Knight Megazord and the Sky Guardian Megazord to fight off the monster (cue Goseiger episode 30 Megazord fight) when that doesn't prove to be enough, the two megazords unite to form the Knight Guardian Megazord to finish off Dream Snatcher once and for all. after that, we cut back to Vrak and Cera on the rooftop who turn around to see none other than General Tritor accompanied by Lurker and Sasquatcho with General Tritor telling the two that he's ready to talk. after that, we cut to Ernie's where we see Brenda performing a concert singing a new song she wrote about dreams at the youth center for all her friends (along with Allen and Lance's mom) who all applaud her ending our episode on a happy note.
