"Walking home for a moment. You almost believe you could start again. And an intense love rushes through your heart and hope. It's unendurable. Unendurable."

Forward Thinking

"What was the happiest day of your life?" he asked

"The day I graduated high school... The same day I got my last name." She answered.

IT WAS THE NEXT MORNING, early, when she and Jason decided to leave their cabins at the same time to start their day. He was going to talk to Nico, and invited her to join.

Arya realized she had really gotten the chance to talk to the kid since their arrival back. Nico seemed busy with his own things, his own friends. Arya didn't want to ruin any of it by bringing it up, so she left him to his own devices.

She found herself both surprised and not, that the kid was already up and dressed.

Without a word said between them, they collectively decided to start walking.

"It was so strange to see them here, now it's strange without them here." Jason said.

It was a true statement, everything seemed quieter. Even in the early hours of the morning.

"Do you regret not going with them?" Nico asked.

Jason shrugged through his dividedness, "A little. But I'll be going back and forth between the camps a lot. I have some shrines to build."

"I heard you plan on swapping back and forth." Arya nodded.

"It's the only thing that makes sense, it's the only thing that feels kinda right. I made a promise that I intend to keep." He looked directly at her, daring him to challenge her.

Arya passed all of that. Ace was right, it was time to let them fly the nest and decide what they wanted with their own lives.

"Let me know if there's anything I can do to help, okay?" Arya said, sincerely. A peace offering.

It's not that she particularly wanted to build shrines to the gods, but she would do it happily if it meant spending more time in the part of the country where Ace would be.

Jason smiled and nodded in appreciation. They talked briefly about Jason's upcoming promotion to become a true Pontifex Maximus. Although, there had to be a senate vote about it first. Arya chuckled at the Romans and their ways.
