"I'm tough/ I know you are/ I can take care of myself/ you have, you still do. You always will. I've just joined in, too. Now we take care of each other."

"What was your first impression of me?" He asked.

"That you were a naive idiot who didn't understand what he was giving up and getting into." She said cheeks red with embarrassment, "And I'm sorry for how I treated you because of that."

ARYA WAS IMMENSELY PROUD OF ACE.

Even in non-optimal conditions he could hold his own in a fight against Arya now.

Was she holding back? Only a little bit anymore. It didn't bode well for her, there was only one person in her life who she had fought with enough that he knew her move set inside and out. Now there was another.

Ace might not have been the best fighter, but what he lacked in raw strength and power he certainly made up for in speed and strategy. Knowing her moves is what kept him 'alive' so to speak. And Arya was okay with that, because after over five years of fighting countless types of monsters, she knew that if Ace could keep up with her, he would have no problem using those swords in other situations.

He managed to keep a smile through all of it too. Keeping up their nightly tradition of questions between rounds.

By the end of their hour and a half, both were soaked through to the bone. Arya didn't think it was fair that Ace had to deal with the hardships of hair in the eyes and a slippery weapon when Arya didn't. So she made sure that the rain latched onto her too.

She did have to hold back more than usual.

"This sucks." Ace said, disarmed on the last sparring match of the night. "I know that the weather waits for no one and that I have to learn to fight in all conditions, but this really sucks."

Arya smiled at him as she felt the rain pelt her skin and weigh down her hair. With the hot and humid weather they had been facing the last couple of weeks the rain was a nice reprieve.

"I don't mind it." Arya said as she looked up into the clouds to see millions of little droplets falling and falling.

Ace sheathed his swords, "Of course you don't, you thrive in water. You know what I thrive in? Sun. You know what there hasn't been all day?"

Arya had noticed. In fact, it was her only point of worry for the hours she spent awake. No sun meant Ace had no way of refueling himself. His solar power was his main source of energy and had been for probably his entire life. The last time he didn't have access to it... Well, Arya didn't like to think about how close to death he looked.
