Finding Her

Scan and Shopping

I yawn as I wake up at 9am
I puke then I take a shower.
Jane makes me breakfast and she feeds it to me
I smile as Angela shows up
"I was thinking we could go into town and go for a shopping spree then your scan?"
"Yeah that's a great idea"
I smile as I clutch my handbag
We all get into Angela's car since she's driving.
She drives us to the shopping centre.
I head into Primark and I grab some makeup
I smile as Jane watches me in my element
I pay and then we head into another store.
I buy some other things and I grin
"Retail Therapy"
I comment as I look at all my shopping bags
We all laugh then we drive to the medical centre where my scan is taking place.
I sit in the waiting room and I bounce my knee
Jane places a hand on it
I turn to her
"What if something's wrong?!"
I panic
"Baby Sh sh you're just panicking, everything's gonna be fine"
I rest my head on her shoulder until I'm called by the doctor.
She leads us into a medical room with a bed and a ultrasound machine.
"Hi Dr.Isles. If you can just pop yourself onto the bed and pull down the waistband of your pants a little bit please."
"Yep."
I get onto the bed with assistance from Jane
I roll down the waistband as Angela watches.
The doctor puts the gel onto my stomach then swishes the Doppler around.
"There's a healthy baby"
She grins
Jane and I are both crying
I look over to see that Angela is too.
Angela holds Jane's hand and I hold Jane's.
"Do you want to know the gender?"
She questions as she moves the doppler again
"Yes please"
"You're having two healthy baby girls!"
"W-what?"
"Look here, there's a second baby."
"Awwww"
We all say in unison
I wipe the gel off my stomach then I stand up.
"Thanks Doctor"
She hands us the printed photos.
"These are going on our fridge"
I comment as I look at them
Jane grins from ear to ear
I pull my waistband up and I grab my bag
"I'll be in touch for a checkup appointment just to make sure that things are going okay."
"Alright thanks again"
We leave
We get into the car and we go to a café.
I get a tea and I sit down.
Jane suddenly speaks.
"I'm so proud of you baby"
"Aw thanks honey"
Angela comes over with her coffee.
She sits down and we all talk about normal things.
We then go home and I go to bed for a nap.
