[Correlates with Chapter 58-60 of Fell For The Criminal. Book 2]

After one day that felt like two, I was allowed a visitor today. Johnson must be pulling strings because there's no way this would happen if he didn't.

Of course the guard was rough with me the whole time to the room. So fucking annoying. They love that they get to hurt me and get away with it.

I walked into the room and there was my wife. She looks even more sad today.

"Hi" She said as the guard was taking my cuffs off.

"Hey" I said back then sat down.

"We never finished our talk yesterday" She started to talk. Wow. I'm surprised she is bringing it up. I looked away from her. "Since the guard came in" She finished her sentence. I looked at her and didn't say anything. I wasn't sure if she was about to say anything else. Like if she agrees or still disagrees. She let out a sigh. "Why are you doing this?" She asked me.

"Asking for a divorce?" I asked. She just stared back at me like that was a dumb question. "Why shouldn't I?" She shook her head and scoffed. "Huh? Why Mackenzie? Why, when you could go out and be happy. I'm going to be in here for the rest of my life. You're twenty-one. You have the rest of your life" I told her. I think I'm mad more at myself for saying that, but it's probably the right thing to do. She deserves better.

"Because we love each other. I don't care where you are. We promised to always be together and to be there for each other. Take care of each other through everything." She's right...

"Why do you love me?" I asked her.

"Why do I love you?" She repeated my question and I nodded. "Jason, you're my life. You're the only person that could make me happy. Even on your worst days, I still want to be with you, Jason. You're my husband. You treat me like a princess. I love who you are-"

"I'm a criminal"

"Yes, but I've known that since I first met you. We know each other perfectly." She said back. Again, she's right.

"We are perfect for each other." I agreed with her. She smiled a little bit.

"We are" She said then I sighed. I'm so dumb sometimes.

"I'm sorry I asked you for divorce papers" I said as I rubbed my face with both my hands. I looked at her again. "I just want you happy"

"I know, babe" She said as she reached over and grabbed my hands tightly.

"I know I'm being a little bitch for that. I just-I just don't want you upset your whole life. Coming here every week. It would be disgusting if I made you do that" I said with a sigh.

"I would do it for you" She told me. I held onto her hands tighter.

"Listen, they are most likely putting me on trial, which means lots of court dates. So if you don't feel comfortable or you don't think you can handle it, don't come. I will be fine. Don't ever come alone if you do. I will be okay" I explained to her and she nodded.

"I'll be at every one. I'm here for you" She said back. I gave her a little smile.

We got to talk for maybe ten more minutes before the guard came in and told her it's time to go. But they also said I have one more visiter and to stay in the room. It's probably Johnson. After Mackenzie left, the doors obviously shut again. I crossed my arms and leaned back against the chair.

"Up." I heard the guard say. I looked at him confused.

"What?" I asked.

"I need to cuff you right now. Get up." He told me.
