"Hey, Quinn." Jake smiled when he opened his apartment door. "What's up?"

"Anything you wanna tell me?" Quinn asked, entering the apartment.

"Not that I can think of." Jake muttered. "But come in."

Quinn turned and looked at Jake. "Nothing?"

Jake furrowed his eyebrows as he looked at Quinn. He nodded slowly as he realized what she was talking about. "You saw Puck."

"Yeah." Quinn confirmed. "Last night."

"Quinn, he-"

"Why didn't you tell me he was home?" Quinn interrupted. "Or that he was living like... that? Why aren't you helping him?"

"I was!" Jake exclaimed, frustrated at the accusations. "Let me explain."

Quinn looked at him.

"I was helping him." Jake said calmly. "He was here for weeks and-"

"And you didn't tell me." Quinn cut Jake off. "Did he see Beth when she was with you?"

"No, he didn't wanna see her unless you knew." Jake answered.

Quinn scoffed.

"I wanted to tell you he was here." Jake continued. "I told him to tell you, but..."

"Why is he living on the streets?" Quinn questioned Jake.

"He couldn't find a job." Jake explained. "And when he did, he couldn't keep one. And then he started going overboard with the drinking, and he won't let me help him because he thinks there's no problem."

Quinn frowned.

"He asked about you and Beth." Jake continued.

"What'd you tell him?" Quinn asked.

"How well you've been doing." Jake answered. "How big she is. How smart and imaginative she is."

"I want him to see her." Quinn said. "But not like this. We have to help him."

"I tried." Jake responded.

"We can't give up." Quinn noted. "He's family, and he would help you or me if the roles were reversed."

"I know that. And I know it's not really my place, but I don't think he should be around Beth yet." Jake told Quinn.

"Because of the drinking?" Quinn guessed.

"Because this isn't Puck." Jake replied. "This isn't Beth's dad or my brother or your whatever. She shouldn't have to see him like this."

Quinn frowned.

"It's more than just the drinking." Jake continued. "He wasn't sleeping, and... Something's really wrong."

"We should talk to him and figure it out." Quinn suggested. "I mean, we can both help him find a job, and I can tell him he gets to see Beth when he's cleaned up."

"Are you gonna have him move back in?" Jake questioned Quinn.

"You just said he shouldn't be around Beth." Quinn pointed out.

"Yeah." Jake nodded. "Look, I'll talk to Marley about having him come back, but we're gonna have to have, like, rules and stuff."

"And we will." Quinn promised. "Talk to Marley."

"I will."
