Against Me (Finn/Finchel/Kurt/ND)

"I thought you were different."

"I am different."

"Mom." Finn said. "I need to talk to you."

"Not now, Finn." Carole shook her head. "I'm too upset with you to listen to what you have to say."

"But-"

"Go get ready for school." Carole interrupted. "We can talk about this later."

"I have glee club later." Finn replied.

"Go, Finn." Carole commanded.

"But, Mom." Finn protested.

"Go!"

Finn rolled his eyes as he took his breakfast to go. He grabbed his backpack, wallet, and car keys before leaving the house and getting in his car.

Finn threw his things on the passenger seat and ate his breakfast while he thought things over. When he was done eating, he drove to school.

Finn got to school just as Puck arrived with Quinn. He quickly got out of his car and hurried inside, not wanting to deal with either of them.

"Hi, Finn."

Finn exhaled slowly as he opened his locker. "Hi, Rachel."

"How are you?" Rachel wondered. "With everything?"

"Fine." Finn muttered.

"It must be hard having Kurt's dad date your mom." Rachel commented. "As if you didn't have enough going on with Quinn cheating on you and her and Puck lying to you for so long."

Finn looked at Rachel.

"Sorry." Rachel apologized. "I just wanted you to know that if you needed a friend to talk to, I'm around. Or if you need a distraction and just want to rehearse or-"

"Rachel." Finn interrupted with a nod. "Thanks."

Rachel nodded back.

"You're the only one who actually cares about me." Finn added. "Puck and Quinn don't, my mom doesn't. At least you were honest with me."

"I just want you to be happy, Finn." Rachel stated.

Finn smiled slightly.

"Do you wanna have lunch with me?" Rachel asked. "We can eat in the choir room or something."

"Yeah." Finn said. "Yeah, sure."

Rachel smiled. "See you then."

"See you." Finn repeated, watching Rachel walk away as the bell rang. He closed his locker and started heading to class, ignoring Quinn as she called his name when he passed her.

"Finn, can I talk to you?"

Finn looked at Quinn.

"I wanted to tell you that I'm sorry." Quinn began as tears filled her eyes. "I shouldn't have cheated and I shouldn't have lied to you."

Finn didn't say anything. As much as he hated it, he still cared about Quinn and he didn't want to see her hurting either.

"If you wanna be mad at someone, be mad at me." Quinn continued. "Because Noah... Puck wanted to tell you, and I just thought if I could choose you then..."

"It wasn't your choice to make." Finn said softly when Quinn trailed off.

"I know." Quinn nodded. "And I'm sorry. I never meant for any of this to happen."
