Quinn could hear and feel everything. Day after day, she heard her mom crying for her, she felt Puck squeezing her hand, and she heard the glee club members talking to her. Each day, she tried to speak back or squeeze back or open her eyes, and each day, she failed.
It killed Quinn when she heard Beth's little voice calling her, asking her to wake up. She wanted to, and she tried to, but she couldn't. It felt like she would be trapped this way forever.
Quinn forced herself to open her eyes, as she had done many times for as long as she could remember. Like every other time, nothing happened.
Quinn could feel the warmth of Puck's hand over hers. She started screaming as loud as she could, trying to wake up and trying to let Puck know she was there.
"Doc, when is she gonna wake up?"
"We don't know."
"You've been saying that for the past week." Puck said. "That's not good enough."
"I'm sorry, but-"
"What the hell am I supposed to tell my kid?" Puck demanded, his grip tightening on Quinn's hand as he grew more frustrated.
"We are doing everything we can."
"Well, it's not enough!" Puck exclaimed.
"Mr. Puckerman, we-"
"Just go." Puck ordered. "I wanna be alone with her."
Quinn continued squeezing Puck's hand and calling out for him, and she would've sworn it was working, but she knew it wasn't since Puck wasn't reacting.
"Quinn." Puck said softly. "Please just wake up. We can figure out everything that comes after that, but just open your eyes or squeeze my hand."
Puck paused and looked at Quinn, looking for any signs of movement, signs of life.
Quinn was doing everything she could.
"Come on, Quinn." Puck begged. "Come back to us. Come back to Beth."
Quinn continued screaming. She screamed until she couldn't scream anymore. She squeezed Puck's hand over and over again.
"Come on, Quinn." Puck repeated. "Please just... just come back."
It was no use. Whatever Quinn did clearly wasn't working. She could hear Puck, which meant she was somewhat awake and alive, but she couldn't move or fully wake up, and she didn't know how to change that.
