"That's — what the hell?" Macy heard. "I'll talk to her." And a little bit after. "Mhm, bye Mavs," Cassidy hung up, staring at her phone. "Macy," No response. She looked over. "Macy?" Cassidy moved over, putting her arm on hers. "Hey, Macy." Macy slowly looked up at her, her face blank but full of emotion. Cassidy softly moved Maria to her other side, sitting up. "Hey, what's wrong?"
Macy looked back down at her phone, turning it off. "Just. . . got news, is all. . ."
"What news hon?" She pulled her up, putting an arm around her.
    Macy shook her head slowly. "I don't want to. . . talk about it. . ." I don't want anyone to know. . .
"Olls is worried about you. . ."
Macy's lip quivered, turning her face away from her as she squeezed her own arm. "Tell him I'm fine. . ." She tucked her hair behind her ears, looking down which made her hair fall into her face. Cassidy blinked, pulling her in for a hug. Macy leaned into her, quiet. Cassidy rubbed her arm, grabbed her phone, and texted Ollie. Macy sniffed, closing her eyes. "Can I stay here again?"
"You can stay as long as you want dear,"
"Just for tonight. . ." She whispered.
    "Alright,"
Macy sniffed, wiping under her nose. "I should. . . go back, home. . . to grab some stuff." She swallowed. "Can you drop me off and wait for me?"
"Yeah, sure! Yeah, I can do that. I think I have a Jeep cover l can put on the back for your stuff."
    Macy nodded. "Thanks,"
Cassidy kissed the top of her head. "When do you wanna stop by?
    "While he's gone. . ."
    "While who's gone?"
Macy didn't look at her. "My dad. . ." She chuckled softly.
"Oh. . . I never had a good relationship with my father either."
"Yeahhh. . . we argue a lot and it's just annoying so let's make it quick?"
"Of course of course. When is your dad gone?"
    "Right now. He's at work. . ."
"Okay, let me get some clothes on alright?" Macy nodded softly. Cassidy got up, heading into her closet.
Macy watched her before looking down at her arms while blinking softly. Cassidy came back out, just wearing black jeans and the shirt she had on while sleeping. Macy looked up at her, getting out of bed. Cassidy grabbed her keys from her nightstand and her phone.
Macy grabbed her phone, adjusted the shirt, and walked towards the door.
Cassidy followed her. "How much stuff are you getting?"
Macy shook her head. "Not much, don't worry."
"Alrightt," she headed down the hall. Macy followed behind her. Cassidy opened the front door, heading to her jeep as she unlocked it. Macy took a deep breath, walked out, and shut the door behind her. She headed towards the Jeep.
Cassidy hopped in, buckling. "Need me to GPS or can you direct me?"
"I'll direct you," she nodded softly, getting in and buckled.
"Kk," she pulled from the driveway.
Macy started picking at the skin around her thumb, looking out the window, watching streets and neighborhoods pass by. "Just, turn at the next stop sign."
    "Alrighty,"
"And then just go straight. . ."
Macy watched the road, glancing down at her thumb when she realized it had started bleeding. She held her thumb, hiding it as she watched all the people.
"How far straight do I need to go?"
"Uh. . . turn left at the stop light,"
Cassidy slowed as the stoplight went green, then yellow, then red. She tapped her fingers, watching the light. Macy watched the light too, glancing down at her hands every now and then before putting them between her legs. Cassidy put her foot lightly on the gas, turning left.
"Just all the way down until you hit the second neighborhood."
"Got it got it." Cassidy slowed as she neared the second neighborhood, turning onto the street
"Third house to your right. . ."
Cassidy counted mentally, slowing as she parked, confused. "Who's car is that?"
Macy stared, squeezing her thumb. He must have stayed home. . . fuck. . . She slowly got out she turned to her. "I'll only be a couple minutes," she smiled softly. Cassidy nodded, unlocking the jeep.
Macy opened the door, looking at her before stepping out and shut the door. She looked at the house, took a deep inhale, and made her way to the door.
She walked up the steps, going to open the door but stopped. It's locked. . . She took out her keys, fiddling with them before unlocking the door and opening it. She slipped in, shutting the door quietly.
"Where've you been." A deep, husky, drunken voice appeared from the kitchen
Macy froze in front of the door, quickly thinking of a lie. "The college. . ." She turned her head, looking into the kitchen.
Julian, her father, was chopping garlic, and judging by the smoke near his face, doing so with a cigarette in his mouth. "Yeah? All day and all night?" He spoke, still not turning to face her. Macy swallowed, looking down at her thumb, hiding it as she put on a smile.
"Yeah. I've had a really really big project I was doing."
"Mm." He stopped chopping, now quiet. Macy swallowed back tears, her blood went cold and her heart threatened to pound heavy, tucking her hair back.
    "I think you'd —"
"I can smell perfume." Julian slowly turned, the floor creaking under him.
Macy's face dropped a bit, arms freezing in the air. "Oh?" She chuckled nervously. "Must be my new — my new body spray I. . ." She watched him walk over, closing her mouth. Julian stood in front of her, examining her before scowling softly. Macy didn't look at him, staring down at the ground. Julian lightly pulled her into a hug.
"You're still my little girl, right?"
Macy hugged him back, tearing up. "Yeah," she whispered, hiding her shaking voice.
"Good," he stroked her hair, scowling out the window before letting her go. Macy slowly looked up at him. Julian looked down at her, examining her face. "Are you. . . crying?"
Macy stared, sucking in her tears. "No? it's just my allergies again, it's been like this all morning," she smiled.
"Mm. . ." Julian cupped her cheek, wiping away the tear. "l see." Macy flinched a bit but tried to hide it, keeping her smile. Julian squinted, moving his hand, and walked back towards the kitchen. Macy watched him, exhaling slowly, and made her way up the stairs to her room.
She walked to her room, closing her door before quickly packing a bag. Julian made his way up the stairs. Macy heard footsteps, turning her face to the door
    "Macy?" Her father called.
Macy looked around. "Yes?" She called back, grabbing a band-aid and wrapping it around her thumb quickly.
Julian went up to her door, silent as a devil, before straight up opening her door. Macy whirled around, her body flushed cold and her heart pounded. "Who's outside." Macy watched her father study her room before his hollow eyes met her frightful gaze. "What the fuck are you doing."
Macy crawled away, hitting a corner. "N-nothing! It's nothing!"
He stared at her, scowling as he shut her door, and walked over. Macy stared in horror, shrinking down as tears welled in her eyes, she glanced around before trying to crawl away. "D-dad no! No please I swear!"
Julian, that drunken bastard, didn't look so nice anymore. He grabbed his daughter by her arm and dragged her up, lifting her to his face. "Who. Is. Outside."
Macy could smell the stench of alcohol, squeezing her eyes shut as she breathed heavily. "Dad. . . dad please. . ." She tried to get him off. He gripped her jaw and dragged her closer, Macy stared. Now she couldn't look away, tears fell down her face.
    "Answer the question."
    "Dad,"
    "Now."
"Just-just my friend! Just my friend — you're hurting me," she let out a sob, shaking her head quickly. She flinched as his nails dug into her face, shaking.
"Yeah? You're a fag then, Macy?"
Macy stared, eyes wide. "What. . ." she sobbed more.
    "You didn't deny it."
Macy simply cried more, trying to get away from him, to get his claws out of her jaw, to get out of this house, but his tight grip forbid her. "Stop it. . ." She cried as he tossed her against the wall, she stared up at him in fear, holding her jaw as he clenched his fists.
"That where you been? Fucking some chick, huh?! You weren't at that bloody college, you were being a whore. See? Not denying it." He grabbed her arm, dragging her to the center of the room.
"Dad! Stop it! That's not true! I swear it isn't!"
Macy was dropped to the ground. "Sorry? For what. Sneaking off and disobeying me?" Julian reached and smacked her. Macy's head whirled with the force of her hand, reaching for her cheek as she breathed heavily, heart pounding. She moved away, but he grabbed her leg and dragged her back. She yelled, grunting as she kicked at him. He gripped her bag's strap, lifting it. One hit, after another, after another. Macy screamed and howled in pain, trying to hit him back.
Julian moved to the other leg. "This is what happens to bitches who don't listen to their fathers."
The front door was then slammed open. "Macy? Macy?!" Cassidy yelled.
Julian turned, and Macy breathed. He scowled down at her. "Friend my ass," Macy yelled as he turned her over and beat every ounce of skin on her.
The sound of Cassidy running up the stairs got louder. "Macy!" She yelled, bursting open the door, and didn't hesitate to grab the man by the collar of his shirt, gripping tight, and threw him aside with a grunt. Julian huffed, tripping over his own feet as he fell back. Cassidy looked, turned, and picked up Macy, grabbing her bag. Macy cried loudly, shaking. Cassidy noticed some bruises on her broke skin and bled. She hurried her for the door.
"AYE!" Julian yelled. "That's kidnapping!" He roared, stumbling as he went after the two.
"No, it's not! Macy go!" Macy did not hesitate to run out of the door. Cassidy followed after her.
"MACY HICKS!" Julian yelled. A cat flew past Julian as he halted, watching. "Macy!" She swung the door open, breathing heavily and shakily as she saw her kitten running towards her. She turned and scooped her up, wide-eyed as she rushed for the jeep. She got in, shutting the door as she held the kitten close, staring at her father, and locked her door.
Cassidy climbed into the van, fumbling to buckle, before speeding off.
"I'LL FUCKING FIND YOU!" Julian screamed.
"I'LL BE WAITING FOR THAT DAY!" Cassidy screamed.
