Cirque Du Freak - Kurda

"I don't want to," I snap as I lightly shove my partner in the chest. Rage boils over me at the thought of missing the most important day of our relationship. "How could you even suggest such a thing?!"

He grumbles a string of words I can't understand. He isn't the type to be aggressive and rude so it is probably really important to him that I don't show up, but I want to. "Just please, don't go."

I see how serious he is about it and it causes me to sigh. I run my hand through my hair before looking at him intensely in the eyes, "Fine, only if you tell me why."

"I can't do that," He simply puts it. "If I do, you will go. So please, just stay away from the mountain."

"Then I'm gonna go, if you can't give me at least an explanation then so be it. What's the point in not going? Unless the reason you aren't going is to see some other girl...it isn't that right?!" I quickly snap getting alarmed, "I know you aren't the type for that, but that doesn't mean anything! Maybe you are! Has the past century meant nothing to you?!"

"That isn't why I don't want you to go, besides no other girl is as good as you are, why would I even think of cheating? We'll be together to the end, centuries from now vampires will see us as the most powerful mates. The first Vampire Empress and the first Vampire Prince to get the position with logic!"

"Yours is an exaggeration...you aren't the first, but among the few, so I'll give you that. Fine I trust you and if not going is what you want me to do - then I won't do it. Promise."

"Thank you, I appreciate it, very much."

"Fucking wait for me Larten!" I scream the transmission, not many are able to talk telepathically but Larten and I have been friends for ever and with the mix of that and my training from Evanna, we can do so.

"I can not have tell them to wait any longer, we are doing it in one night, can you get here in time?"

"Maybe if I flitted, but that's against the laws!"

"You're an Empress you're allowed to break the law!"

I growl, "But that's against everything I believe in...tell them to postpone it!! I'll be there in a week! Keep him heavily guarded!" I snap before sighing and quickly make my way to the mountain. I make it there is roughly six days and make my way up the mountain angrily. What is his problem? Why would he do this?

Kurda, what are you thinking?

I make it to the halls and the guards let me in without a single fuss. Without even stopping by the Hall of Oscar Velm or the Hall of Princes I head to the Hall of Capture. The hall is dusty and old as we have not had any prisoners held here for many centuries, possibly more.

Maybe it is because no one is stupid enough to commit a murder while at the mountain. When I make it to the entrance the guards smile at me before opening the door for me to enter. I do so reluctantly and make my way through the corridor of cages.

In the twelfth cell at the very end sat a dirty, messy Kurda Smahlt and I almost wanted to release him. Knowing that'd be a stupid move I don't. I couldn't.

He looks up at me, surprised, but also regretful.  He scoffs as he sees me, "That's why they were waiting so long... You promised you wouldn't come though."

"I did, but you broke a far worse promise than I ever have!" I snap back as I throw a box down at his feet through a small hole in the bars. "When you were blooded you were told not to betray your clan, look what you've done!"
