-I realized there were plot holes so here you go-
Reader's POV
I sat in my spot while hungrily stuffing my mouth with sushi, I didn't eat lunch today and I'm deprived of nutrients. My friend, who is sitting beside me at the bar, chuckles evilly.
"Dis suhii ist really gut, hun?" I question with a mouth full, trying not to be rude with silence, but accomplishing it with food in my mouth.
"Oh yeah." (R/N) smiles while putting another one into her mouth. Naturally she is less air headed than I am so she didn't forget her lunch and is less hungry. Luckily though she doesn't point out that I am being rude and pretends that me talking while eating is normal.
"Thanks, Simon." I smile at the man behind the bar after swallowing my sushi. I don't know him very well, but he has helped me out of a few fights with some gangs. Curse my petite stature. If I was bigger people wouldn't try messing with me all the time.
"Anything for (Y/N)." He says with his usual kind smile.
"Are you still in touch with Izaya?" (R/N) aks out of the blue, with a slight yawn.
"Wh-What?" I ask, completely surprised. We haven't talked about Izaya in years, why could she possibly want to talk about him now?
She shrugs, "I was just curious, he seems to be getting into a lot of trouble recently so I was gonna tell you to call him. You could really use friendly face, y'know. He could probably use a friend too, even if it is just you."
I sigh before turning to her, "Are you implying I'm a bad friend?"
"Oh definitely," She rolls her eyes, "Just talking to him might prove to be beneficial, that's all."
"Well, we haven't talked since the end of high school, I don't have his number. Besides, I bet he is really busy, you know, running from Shizuo."
"I hear those two have totally caused trouble for people." She points out while clicking her chopsticks together.
I sigh. "They always did..." I groan, "The idiots don't know how to not be nuisances."
During my high school years Izaya, Shizuo, Shinra, some others and I were pretty close. Izaya and Shizuo fought way more than they should have, but on occasion we got them to hang out with one another.
On those special occasions - they were typically holidays or birthdays - it was really fun. I wish we could have done it more often, but there were only about seven special days a year so we didn't do it often. Then again, how uncommon they are is what makes it so special.
I think during my third year I became friends with (B/N), we grew to be friends pretty fast and I can't remember my life before her. She is like the older sister I never wanted. She is the one that made it obvious that I like Izaya, she teased me everyday for making him lunch since the idiot practically forced me to do it.
Compared to the others Izaya and I knew each other longer. I don't know how long Shinra and Shizuo knew each other, but Izaya and I knew each other during middle school. We met our third years because he decided it would be a good idea to dump a bucket of shrimp outside of the second story classroom window. This being after he got arrested for stabbing some guy. Naturally it landed on me and he took me to the nurse to make sure none of the shrimp got in my eye.
That was nice at the least.
"I hear he is an info broker." She points out while eating her last piece.
I look at (R/N), shocked, "Seriously?"
"Yeah totally."
"Good for him," I chuckle while paying for the food, "They make a lot of money."
